Rachel is 100% right on the food take! The US food guidelines are the reason we have so many health problems. It's called SAD (Standard American Diet) high grains, low fat and plant oils! All of those things are absolutely terrible for you on a regular basis.
@christinerowe1124 Those standards have been improved more recently, but for the longest time, they have been subpar. The problem with what you are saying is that the vast majority of people dont know how to eat and rely on those guidelines on how to eat. Europeans have joined the obesity club, too.
The SAD diet is not the same as the food guidelines. America has so many health problems because of the over consumption of highly and ultra processed foods. The food guidelines aren't great, but they're better than the SAD
I love George 's humor. It's not for everyone, but to me, i like it. Also, i think maybe this is the first episode in a long time where George didn't mention Winston?? Lol
Rachel I couldn’t believe it when you started talking about butter and eggs!! She’s right everyone! Stop eating the nasty seed oils (canola, soybean, vegetable oils) and go back to real, delicious, healthy food!
Did George slam the rest of his drink? He is too funny 😂 Rachel I think it’s cute when you adjust your hair. Don’t change! Where is Ms Sharon need another episode please 🙏
It’s all about the salt you consume! Don’t consume table salt. DO consume REAL salt, like Redmond’s. Real salt has essential minerals and helps hydrate your cells.
I am 33 and I only learned this this year! In the united states, they teach that Australia is the continent. I am pretty sure it’s only here that they teach this!
8:30 _"That's asset allocation... like mutual funds, you want four different types of mutual funds."_ Why? Just get yourself one of the 12% ones and you're set! 📈👍
Hey George, there is generally a rule of courtesy in New Jersey for merging at tolls. I love Tennessee (go Vols) and I love Nashville, but so often it’s often out of towners like you that don’t understand and just cut in😮
For clarification for everyone: we are taught that Oceania is the region encompassing all the islands hanging off of Southern Asia and into the Pacific. Australia is part of this region, so it is in Oceania, but it is the only island large enough to meet the parameters of a continent, so that is why it is a continent. But it is still in Oceania. That is what we are taught but apparently that’s coming under question now like when Pluto was reassessed and no longer deemed a planet. Hopefully that clarifies the confusion already in these comments.
What’s the Difference between total money makeover and financial peace please tell me as I’m reading total money makeover and I’m wondering do I need to do financial peace as well please answer Thank you in advance Rachel and George
The real math formula to find how much time "t" (in years) it takes to double your investment involves logarithms and is much harder: t = ln(2)/ln(1+r). Here "r" is your interest rate as a decimal. The "rule of 72" is an approximate answer to the question: t = 72/(100*r) and you can often do it in your head. The crazy thing is, there's no "proof" as to why it is such a good approximation. It actually works better than a basic Taylor approximation from Calculus, so its simplicity is really quite amazing.
Do you appreciate your life enough to sacrifice and suffer the financial hardship that life throws at you or will you fall victim to your vices? The choice is yours.
And Oceania includes Australia, New Zealand, and all the other islands/island nations like Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, French Polynesia, Fiji, Micronesia, and all the others that would make this comment way too long. Some people even include Malaysia in Oceania.
@@nathanbourquin6554 they aren’t. They’re islands in the region of Oceania. Australia is the largest island, but it’s still big enough that it aligns with the definition of a continent as well. It goes by the definition of continent as a contiguous landmass. In other words, really big islands regardless of international borders. But perhaps the definition has started to change in the last 5 years since I was in high school? I just googled it and it’s apparently a major debate now regardless of public v private school status
Make smart money happy hour a full hour! Great show :)
Totally with Rachel on this one. Yes to eggs, butter, and salt; no to industrial seed oils.
100%!!!! Came here to say this. Unfortunately, soy, vegetable and seed oil is in everything.
i love that the upload timing of these videos makes it look like you guys are starting off your morning drinking
I love when Rachel’s competitiveness comes out. She gets so into it and makes it so fun!

It is interesting to watch the players fight the nutritionists when the new food guidelines come out.
Exactly! They made America fat.
It's no different than Europe. It's not the standards. That's an excuse. It's how you manage them. But keep blaming the standards.

So happy for that
I love when Rachel's conspiracy theorist comes out🤣🤣🤣
It's not a conspiracy theory when it's True.
I love listening to you both. Wish I could visit and sit in on an episode. The studio staff must have such a lot of fun with all the banter
I am so entertained with this show. Love the topics and cocktails and mocktails.
yes, on the length of show! I was so excited to see show pop up and then instantly disappointed when I saw how short it was.....
My husband had a name for the drink: Dead Sea Swill 😂😂😂. Great show guys, as always! ❤
Rachel I couldn’t believe it when you started talking about butter and eggs!! She’s right everyone! Stop eating the nasty seed oils (canola, soybean, vegetable oils) and go back to real, delicious, healthy food!
I think I can hear producer Lindsey laughing at the back 😂
Hehehe loving the shoutout to NJ drivers! I’m proud of my spicy driving but I did kick my brake checking habit. MASSholes are just as bad George.
Don't use crappy table salt in the blue container - that is what we get too much of. Use good salt like Redmond or Celtic Sea Salt.
A great team. George and Rachel ❤
“Keep the cookies on the borrar m shelf” 😂😂 I am going to slip this in
Love this episode! Very informative for our young people!! And I love that you go against the grain of what the big G says, Rachel!! 👊🏼
Omg no, the episodes are half as long as they used to be 🥺😭
Shrinkflation!
Whoooooaaaaa I agree with Rachael’s nutrition tips but too much salt on the rim is rough in more ways than one. Great show!!
I need a list of all the mocktails!
Speaking of hair, Rachel, yours looks amazing!!

Hi guys,
I love your show ❤
although I have to say that Australia is a country, Oceania is the continent 🫣😅🙄😝

Loved this show today.
You two are goof balls lol
When are you releasing the Smart Money Happy Hour book. Cocktails, mocktails, budgeting tips, and random trivia :D

I mean so far the conspiracy theorists have been spot on the last 4 years!! 🎉
George is 100% right about Jersey.
Don't listen to the negative nellies!! Love the show and the name!
Jersey here 😂 don’t mess with Jersey folks in traffic, #1 rule for visitors I’d say lmao.
Barbie has a last name (and her name isn't "Barbie", Barbie is a nickname for Barbara). Barbie's last name is Roberts.
He’s so funny!!!
Standard & Poor's
Go Libbys!
What if y’all do financial Audit Videos. That would be wild.
I really enjoy this series, just a laid back and happy conversation.
It is what it is! 😂
What’s the Difference between total money makeover and financial peace please tell me as I’m reading total money makeover and I’m wondering do I need to do financial peace as well please answer Thank you in advance Rachel and George
Yes George, day 1 of nutrition is do the opposite of what the govt recommends lol
@18:00 yesssss 😂😊
He’s not lying about Jersey 😂 That’s why I moved!!!
Good show. Love the dynamic . But agree. The show should be an hour
Lovely top Rachel
Whoop whoop little Rhody got a mention
2:25 _"Oh, God! It's so salty!!"_
sounds like my wife ( -.-)
A zipper merge is not cutting someone off.
Call it the smart money happy half hour
Investing in the "Standard and Poor" index does not sound very appealing 😅
why dont we try a full hour? make it a special and see how it does!
George now has a new group mad at him
Nice show this show, *Smart Money HALF Hour*
Yes Rachel!! I don’t trust the government either 😜🙌🏻
Salt money happy hour! No margaritas died in this recording, I see. ^_^
You should call the show Smart Money Happy Half Hour
Happy Hour is a concept not an actual measurement of time.
Smart money half hour
where was the guilty as charged!
I'm just here for the New Jersey slander.
Actually the lesson wasn't so much don't cut people off (actually that happen to me once too, what an ass), but the real lesson, wear a seat belt.
Barbie's last name is Roberts!
20 mins?! Will the next be 1hr?😁
Poor's, as in the founder. It's a family name. Not poor as an adjective.
Fiat is debased and the Bible is the word of YAH !
Why 72? Who came up with 72 and what does the 72 represent as opposed to any other number?

It's government mandated. No one really knows why, though. It's kind of a mystery.
Rachel cheated on the guilty as charged. She was guilty but didn’t take her drink.
Do you appreciate your life enough to sacrifice and suffer the financial hardship that life throws at you or will you fall victim to your vices? The choice is yours.
Do they teach australia is a continent in public school or did she mean oceania?

Don't follow government food guidelines! Do the opposite and you will be better off!
So true!
Rachel is a 'money expert' and she didn't know what S&P stood for in S&P 500?
"They didn't have bartenders then"
Really Rachel?
Australia is a continant??!
Australia is not a continent. It's Oceania. And America is one continent anywhere else in the world.
This was way too short. 😫
But there are two of you. 30 minutes each. That's 60 minutes total. So, it is an hour.
Standard and poor’s
How often can he say "That's a fun one"? 🤦
So longer episodes coming? I'll try not to be salty about it 😅
😅Oh, now that's punny!
@@janethms3 😁
Rachel has based health takes. 😂
After two drinks the accent comes out; after three she gets cancel-level based.
My 401K is a trivia question for my wife.
Australia is not a continent as many believe, it is called Oceania.
Oceania is a region Australia is a continent
@@janelleg597Australia is a freakin' country, not a continent
Come on guys, do a quick Google search
It's all "down under" -- so there's no confusion 👌👍
@@janelleg597No. It's a continent.
No one cares that you move your hair, Rachel. Sometimes, you just need it to stop touching your face. It's fine.
