Takumi's life has definitely gone downhill, if you know what I mean.
Red Valkyrie Haven't watch Wangan Midnight, and I personally prefer skills and techniques rather than raw power. But I heard of a tale of the crazed driver of the mountain passes. The tales tells that he can drift with his eyes closed. There's even rumor of him lighting a cigar while doing so. He runs a tofu shop, and people said he looks just like a normal middle-aged guy.
I've heard that story many times. And for some reason, whenever it gets to the point of him lighting his cigarette, an odd piece if music begins playing. At first it sounds all silly and fun, but then it suddenly turns all serious. And just as the verse is about to kick in, you can here a different middle-aged man, possibly a friend of the crazed driver, shout at the top of his lungs for someone to save him. And then all sounds are cut, replaced by the clear sound of tires screeching. Gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it.
Well another part i love about rotarys is the really smooth Power-band and if you'll screw on an Supercharger it compliments its nice power-band even more.
@@holzwurm_hd7029 Just the facts here kid... you don't know anything about Wankel engines do you? Wankel engines are inherently unreliable and less powerful than reciprocating engines. Any questions?
I've always preferred wankels over piston engines because they're so much more elegant by design. If only they could work around the major drawbacks they have. I've love to have a wankel in a bike because of the amazing power to weight ratio, compactness and noise.
Well, an UP TSI and a 911 Turbo are both German, turbocharged cars made by the VW Group so I guess they are the same thing?! Must be why they sound so similar
That Regular Guy they sound similiar becaue a flat six is really just two inline 3's, an inline 5 sounds really similiar to a v10 as well, since a v10 consists of two 5cyl banks
In addition, a V8 experiences combustion strokes only 4 times in one rotation of the shaft, while a 2-rotor experiences combustion six times in one rotation, just like a V12.
*The **_Eccentric-crankshaft_** works no differently than any of type of crankshaft... it just has a shorter stroke and is more rigid to deal with the massive stress cause by the lack of internal balance in the Wankel engine.*
*Not really, it uses the exact same types of bearings that other crankshafts use, not different at all in that respect... Connects to the **_PISTON_** specifically... the term "rotor" is a slang, an incorrect translation or proprietary term applicable only to certain defunct brands of Wankel engines.*
Cool concept. Aero guys love it because it's light compact and puts out "tons" of power. But in reality the three stoke design doest let itself well to reliability, efficiency (because the cuin is a lot bigger than they claim), and if you turbo anything it can have great power.

Pascals Law refers to an equivalence of pressure and volume relationship. If you're increasing pressure, volume must decrease to maintain preservation of energy. Take a balloon for instance, if you decrease the size on one side, the opposite side increases to maintain volume relationship. So the argument does not pertain, the principal in essence is correct
Several major manufacturing companies attempted to develop compression ignition for Wankel engines. Unfortunately the Wankel engine simply cannot be adapted to the Diesel Cycle because of the geometry limitations and the inability to support the required static compression ratios.

Felix Wankel’s engine was conceived during a dream. In it, 17-year-old Felix was driving his car to a concert. When he arrived, he bragged to his friends that his car used a new type of engine - half turbine, half reciprocating. “It is my invention!” he told his friends. Upon waking up, Wankel became dedicated to building his engine. Though he never received a formal degree (or a driver’s license), Wankel was a gifted engineer.

doktorbimmer Sore loser? My overall general knowledge of the rotary FARRRRRR surpasses what you read on the internet so I'm not embarrised about anything. Your the one that's hiding and too afraid to put your opinions out there for the world to see while you DON'Tshow your face. That's embarrising!
When it comes to firguring the displacement of the rotary, the 13b is rated at 1.3l That's a fact your just gonna have to accept. Again if you think Mazda has falsely rated the engine, how is it they have gotten way with false advertising for DECADES?

+RotaryPerfection Mazda no longer rates the engine as a 1.3 and no longer manufacturers the 13b or any other Wankel engine, Mazda used "Tax Displacement" as a loophole, this contrived method invented by NSU.. not Mazda and is no longer recognized as a valid method of measuring displacement.

+doktorbimmer Dude give it a rest. It's sad how obsessed you are with being right within this discussion. You just wrote 3 separate post in hopes to get me to respond. I've said what I needed to say on the subject and now I'm moving on. Understand his one thing. YOUR OPINION DOESN'T MATTER TO ME because you have ZERO hands on experience with the actual engine. I wont respond to you again so you can have the last word (which I'm sure is exactly what you want).

That would make Takumi driving a 911 under a different name normal then, wouldn't it? (Takumi and Tatsuya are also voiced by the same person.)
Red Valkyrie Maybe. And he no longer delivers tofu through mountain passes with eurobeat blasting on his audio.
Ya. He quit tofu delivery (thus erasing all touge skillz) and became a doctor (idfk how) , bought a 911, tuned it, met this guy named Akio Asakura, got into a relationship with his sister (Eriko) , saw Akio die, saw this new Akio in old Akio's Z, see new Akio crash multiple times (without dying) , and eventually lose to him.
Thank you so much for this simple crash course on rotary engines so i can be prepared to buy my first rx7

No go to Japan.
0:08 - ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT

Dude, you are hilarious as well as informative. Thank you!
In addition, a V8 experiences combustion strokes only 4 times in one rotation of the shaft, while a 2-rotor experiences combustion six times in one rotation, just like a V12.
This is the first video I've seen that talks about the e-shaft. I had an idea on how it worked, but this video finally shows it!
*The **_Eccentric-crankshaft_** works no differently than any of type of crankshaft... it just has a shorter stroke and is more rigid to deal with the massive stress cause by the lack of internal balance in the Wankel engine.*
@@doktorbimmer yeah but more so how it connects to the rotor specifically. It's pretty awesome
*Not really, it uses the exact same types of bearings that other crankshafts use, not different at all in that respect... Connects to the **_PISTON_** specifically... the term "rotor" is a slang, an incorrect translation or proprietary term applicable only to certain defunct brands of Wankel engines.*

@@doktorbimmer The uk government are being forced to ban or limit diesel cars by 2040. They are giving off high amounts of carcinogenic pollution and are credited for a large rise in cancerous deaths. A lot of the diesel emission testing didn't apply to real world situations while many were falsified. In other words 95% of diesel cars are marginally better for us than petrol if at all, some diesels are worse. DPF filters (that limit the cancerous fumes) are also a very big grey area in effectiveness. Many people have them removed as they block up easily and are costly to replace. Also very conflicting evidence in how well they actually filter while working on top of the added pollution they take to make. Also much pollution is added because some people are forced to ''drive on the motorway to clean the filter''. If they don't do that a warning light puts cars into limp mode. Sellers of such cars do not tell people that diesels are very bad to be used as anything but long distance vehicles. Car makers want sales, telling people a car that is bad in short journeys is not good business for them so they don't say it.
What about Turboshaft Engines? They have their own advantages and disadvantages and they have some unique applications. The military is in love with these engines, they are used on their tanks, helicopters, and warships. There were also some racecars that once used turboshafts.

Pascals Law refers to an equivalence of pressure and volume
relationship. If you're increasing pressure, volume must decrease to
maintain preservation of energy. Take a balloon for instance, if you
decrease the size on one side, the opposite side increases to maintain
volume relationship. So the argument does not pertain, the principal in
essence is correct

Unfortunately the Wankel engine simply cannot be adapted to the Diesel Cycle because of the geometry limitations and the inability to support the required static compression ratios.

I hate how high energy this guy is but I really do enjoy the automotive engineering
