  • For the first time ever, six bands gathered on the Main Street of Tipperary Town. Three of the bands marched from the Band Stand on Davitt Street down to the Main Street to merge in with another three bands. Totally unrehearsed, played the bands first played 'True and Trusty' (Video 2). Then after a 'warm up' of playing True and Trusty, the combined bands played the infamous tune 'It's a long way to Tipperary' to celebrate its100th year since written in 1912 (Video 3). Lastly, with much excitement from both the bands and the crowds gathered all along the Main Street of Tipperary Town, the combined bands play the Irish National Anthem (Video 4).
    The following bands were present for this unique event:
    CJ Kicham Band, Tipperary Town,
    Boherbouy Brass Band, Limerick,
    Banna Chluain Meala, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary,
    Airport Police Fire Service Band, Dublin Airport,
    Bray Concert Band, Bray, Co. Wicklow,
    The Stedfast Band, Blackrock, Dublin.
    (St. Patrick's Band, Cashel, Co. Tipperary played on the Main Street earlier in the day).
