Mounting the Engine and Unfortunate News - Lanciar Build Part 8

- In this long-lost episode I finally get the engine mounted on the Lancair project. After some spritzing up and a whole bunch of new seals, I get the engine pickled and the aircraft moved to storage where it will remain while I am stationed overseas.
Follow along as I take this abandoned Lancair 235 project from forgotten to flying! This kit has been sitting for 36 years in a garage. I purchased it in July of 2022 with the hopes of finally seeing it fly. Finding time to work on this is challenging but I would like to share the experience with you. Whether you are already flying a Lancair and want to see the process to build one or are thinking of starting an experimental project on your own, this series should help shed some light on the trials and tribulations of building an aircraft by yourself.
All videos are shot on a Nikon Z6 and iPhone 13 Pro.
Harbor Freight man….
You even have the hook on the motor for it….
Hi Dylan. Pretty impressive work! This plane is pretty cool and I have been looking for a build kit myself. Any chances that you change your mind and consider selling?
Hey, I may be convinced. I don't want to sell it but I am also not a fan of the aircraft sitting while I am overseas. Looks like UA-cam took away the DM option so if you have an instagram, go ahead and add me on there and we can get in touch. @dylanaclements
Hi.. I've been waiting for a reply.. Please let me know if you are still considering to sell it
How does one find a good Lancair kit?
I’m just glad you had your steel-toe flip-flops on !
Haha flip flops are the ultimate utility shoe, you can’t convince me otherwise!
Super cool!
