Very good review Dan. I can say that the Tom Tom Sat Nav is second to none. I've got aTomTom go trucker 600, almost identical to the this, apart from it's for trucks. And I can say that they are absolutely fantastic and I can say that I trust it absolutely. I know that some will not agree with me, but I've been using mine for about 3yrs now and it's NEVER put me in bother!
And I've not been paid to say this!

Good vlog dan. Defo can’t argue that Tom Tom is the best on the market. I have the hgv earlier model Tom Tom that I use rather than the built in land Rover one. Defo I think a upgrade is due soon though 👍🏻👍🏻😎

I have heard that TomTom have upset customers with their 'product lifetime' timescales. Great to see it gives different routes based on the vehicle size. We bought a truck satnav a while ago and I don't know where it is, we don't tend to use it and just chance it with the vehicle nav and site directions.

Another great video. Looks a very good product and very user friendly which I think is important these days the way technology is evolving. 👍

Excellent in depth review, definately would consider this to replace our current sat nag.

I’m just wondering have you tried the Garmin Camper 1090 MT-D at all? I’m torn between the two. Does the Tom Tom warn you of steep gradients or very sharp bends you’re approaching?

Good video Dan, but you skirted over some serious issues - the price is far too high, sooner or later there will be a phone app of this type and for a more competitive price. Second "Lifetime Support", is misleading to buyers, you did say but I think more emphasis was required "while the device is supported". There's at least one new version of TomTom released every year and I bet the replacement for this one is already on the drawing board. Lastly the battery. I have owned a variety of TomTom units (due to buying the latest model with more features and free maps etc...), they are great and do the job well but, all have one thing in common, the internal battery is rubbish. (Look on UA-cam for battery replacement videos). None of mine now hold any charge and have to be plugged in to the car to work. If you could test the device to see if it lives up to the claimed 1 hour that would be great. I'll wager a weeks drinking money 1 hour will never be met in 6 months time. I look forward to your views in the next video. From watching your past videos on products I suspect you wouldn't pay the asking price. Maybe you wont be asked to? :-)

Looking good so far. Seems quite straightforward to change between car plus caravan and car only. Good clear instructions from you Dan.

I have the Aguri one with built in dash cam and is android based,7 inch touch screen and can double as normal android tablet.. well over £100 cheaper than tom tom and has never missed a beat either towing or using as just car Sat nav.. battery life is over 3 hours as sat nav and well over 7 when used as a tablet.. i have had tom tom one for years but find them rather basic.
Anyhow each to thier own.. look forward to next update.

Just looked at the Aguri range - seems far better value and built to last. I cannot see how TomTom justify the price of the Go Camper model. Perhaps the words given to me by The Caravan Company service manager when buying extra keys for a Coachman (£40 each plus postage) and me saying how much? Quote - "It's the leisure industry mark up " !

Sorry to say, I sent this back. I was expecting a great experience with the latest kit from TomTom, but soon realised how awful; it is to use (software wise). I never got around to actually using it on the road. I tried loading Caravan club CL's, which it just couldn't seem to do. Hopeless. The software seemed to be more intent on selling me stuff and the support page was totally useless. I am an experienced IT pro, so if I find this so bad to setup how I want it, I hate to think what the average guy in the street will do with it (chuck it in the back of a drawer and forget about is I guess). WIll try Garmin RV 795 next, though I worry that is aimed primarily at the US Market so have my doubts as to how well it will work in the UK?

Hi Dan, I enjoyed this, we have a tom Tom for our MH, BUT it’s just a normal car one and it has taken us down some challenging motorhome unfriendly routes, so I can’t trust ours, but that’s not the devices fault, it’s mine I bought the wrong one. What I do like is the ability to customise the voice, they have a number of free ones as well as paid for ones. I gave Evie the choice and our is an Aussie surfer dude lol. Would like some advice on using the device dash cam if possible, another great vid 👍

Good review, but I have up to now enjoyed your posts for their unbiased ‘say it as you see it’ content. Now you seem to be moving on to paid/sponsored content, which is already freely available elsewhere. Hope there’s more unpaid content planned for future posts?

Right. I was considering the Aguri, but hearing it has the same beloved Irish female voice as my car one, I'm definitely getting the TomTom (sad isn't it?).

With the thoughts of ditching my iPhone google maps and getting a dedicated sat nav - my first idea was - I'm sure Dan must have done a review. How is this device now after long term use? - and how does it stack up against Copilot iPhone app - an alternative I'm considering - much cheaper than the circa 400 quid Tom Tom - Any thoughts much appreciated and thanks for continued vlogs.

Hi dan thinking about buying one of these , there is about £100 difference in price is there a reason for this or is it a bargain ? Or older model ? Cheers Gary
