  • I moved to Turkey and I love it… Why? I love Turkey, I moved here by choice, and I’ve lived here for over 2 years now. These are all my opinions and experience. For me, there is no better country to live in as for now and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

00:00 Why did I move from Germany to Turkey?
I believe, that Turkey is a country that is just giving me an environment where I can be the happiest possible version of myself at this time of my life. BUT this might be different for anyone else.
    00:22 Turk's mentality.
I would say Turks are extremely Easy going. They are known for their simplicity in their life trying to avoid anything that makes life more complicated. The saying "Boş Ver" is frequently used and kinda shows the Turkish mentality of not worrying too much about small things.
    00:47 The Diversity
There is no country in this world that is so interesting like Turkey!
Istanbul for example. It’s a place that really blows my mind. It's a city of culture, history, art, tourism, architecture, beaches, nature, surrounded by seas, forests, and hills.
    01:17 Turkish Food
Yes, Turks have an amazing cuisine to offer. Turks have great soups, they have good coffee, amazing desserts, fresh fish, and good quality meat. What you can find here is a mix of Central Asian, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Eastern European, Armenian and Balkan cuisines.
    01:54 Turkey's nature
Turkey has a desert and there are landscapes that you will only find here in Turkey. I am talking about incredible UNESCO World Heritage Sites, I’m talking about absolutely gorgeous mountains and islands, beaches, lakes, and cave cities.
    02:33 Time Management
    02:58 Vibrant Lifestyle
Turks love having this community feeling. Everyone knows their neighbors and most of life is happening outside. BBQ. Camping. Music. Starting and ending the day with Çay. It’s just this Turkish mentality regarding life that makes me happy.
    03:18 Life Quality
They have a really good health system. People are educated. Life in Turkey is quite affordable. It is I would say, not extremely difficult to make a living here as a foreigner. There are quite big differences living here as a Turk vs foreigner though, but generally spoken the life in Turkey is not bad. It’s not the place to earn a lot of money, but it’s about life quality.
    03:57 Animal friendly
Cats and dogs on the street. And I've never been to a country that takes such a good care of dogs and cats as Turkey does. Everyone makes them feel comfortable on the streets, gives them water and food, and treats them overall like kings and queens.
    04:28 Geographic Location
Easy to get to Europe and Asia. The weather is great. And Istanbul has a big airport which makes it easy for me to visit my family or have friends visiting me.
    04:56 The weather
    05:26 Turkish language
I have never been more fascinated by a language like the Turkish one.
    05:53 Safety
It is safe - I feel extremely safe living in Turkey. I can walk around freely, can do whatever I want. Turks generally do respect all kinds of people and I never felt unsafe. Traveling through the country is easy and the infrastructure is great. With common sense living in Turkey is as safe as living in any other country in the world.
    06:35 Turkish Hospitality
In Turkey hospitality is everything and I encountered endless situations of kindness and hospitality.
    07:17 Community Feeling
In Turkey, you will always have a neighborhood and be part of a community and just living here and feeling included is just one out of many reasons why I have chosen to make this country my home.
    07:45 That's a wrap

I understand that many people don't agree with my points but I am just sharing the reasons WHY I moved to Turkey. It's not a portrait of Turkey. It's just my positive points about Turkey. Yes it can be misleading and people tend to over analyze it. I realized there are two sides and I will also make a video why you should NOT move to Turkey. I hope this clarifies some things 🤗 thanks for the nice comments. I really appreciate that!

If you had talked with any "common" people you would understand that life quality is terrible. Half of the country can't afford to buy meat. They are living worse than someone in germany whose only income is unemployment salary. I guess when you work with the government propaganda channel you don't have to tell the truth.

I have been to many countries and currently live in Canada. The best places to live in the world are located around the Mediterranean sea, period. Best weather, culture, best produce. Turkey is very underrated in that area and due to the political instability many people dont pay attention. But that is going to change, and when it does, Turkey is not going to be that cheap anymore, right now currency is down so if you earn dollars ot euros, Turkey is very affordable. Whenever I visit Turkey, I leave a decent tip in every purchase and you should too. I know majority of Turks live overseas are looking to go back once the country stabilizes, including me. Isolation, loneliness and lack of culture are big issues in many so called developed countries, money doesn't justify anymore. Just my two cents here.

I’ve been learning Turkish because I have plans to visit the country many other times and who knows live there in the future.
I used to live in Germany for a few months, people there are respectful but I could feel how reserved and distant they are. I admire them but it’s not the place I would choose to live. In Turkey it’s completely different, you made the best choice possible: to be happy with the things that really matter!

When it comes to cats or dogs people are being over protective in Istanbul. For example years ago (back in 2015 i guess) we were having an exam in Beyazit Campus of Istanbul University and suddenly a cat entered the classroom during the exam. One of our friends was allergic to the cats and asked the instructor to take the poor animal away from the class cause she couldn’t concentrate. He literally said: “why would bother the cat? If you don’t feel comfortable in this class you may go as well. We’re not superior to animals you know” :)) i really love this mentality ❤️

Especially this community feeling, sharing, caring each other, hospitality. Therefore I'm missing my country very much and watch whole day youtube videos :/ :)

    • @eserekliinsan198
      @eserekliinsan198 3 роки тому

Hawaii is literally on the opposite side of the earth :) I was dreaming to visit Hawaii when I was in Turkey. But I decided it would not worth to such looong trip. I would visit other and closer tropic places like Maldives or Phuket (However I still keep in my bucket list if I live in US someday). If you plan a 1 month trip including Turkey and some European countries I would definitely worth to fly. Or even it would worth to visit only Turkey. Because you can experience lots of different things (various cultures, lots of history, great food, awesome nature etc) in one go. But try to keep the duration at least for 2 weeks to enjoy all. I am writing these all from an unbiased traveler's standpoint, not as a Turk.
