If you mean the thing that still keeps the name as though it's the same and churned on since 2003 then yes it's all you say and far far worse, in that it has no identity at all and utterly pointless. The character changes you mention, again you name no names so not helpful. I know for a fact, due to some negative press (or a heightened awareness when watching the show back) some characters did have overbearing traits toned down somewhat, but often when writers change on a show, they do what they like with the character and blow to what they were. It's in the name of keeping them fresh sometimes, but other times it implodes as it makes no sense. It's a pity you couldn't have made all these points and explained yourself before being so wrong-footed in approach to a response in what I felt was a slight on the show. If you take a show when it was at its best and state baldly "Dot's the only truly good character" of course that'll get a negative response, but that doesn't mean an attack! I think you'll find many would do the same, but then youtube's full of twerps that never seem to understand just what they write and then what to reply to!
We'll be nearing to this episode in over a month's time as we might be nearing into 1989 in mid May after the 1988 episodes have been done, as we are already to reach the 90s by when mid July comes around on Drama. As 1989's biggest storylines include Den Watts's first death attempt at a canal as he wouldn't been seen again until another 14 years after being released from prison, having filmed these scenes over four months ago in the autumn of 1988 due to Leslie Grantham was offered a role in his upcoming drama The Paradise Club, the other main storyline of 1989 was Pat and Frank's wedding. So Donna's death episode might be aired on Drama in over a month away from now as part of a double bill where the sequence of episodes are still Thursday and Tuesday episodes, so this may be the second to air in a lunchtime slot at 1.40pm sliced in with the 13th of April 1989 episode which would be aired first...

Do you have episodes of James Wilmott-Brown's trial in April 1989?
Boom. We just had it, it was the second of Today's Drama double.

what did pat say at 9:52 "i'm sorry simon, I've had *unintelligible* on that."
Sounds like sorry Simon, I’ve had my eye on that, not sure though, bit mumbled and indistinct.
just listened again and i'm now thinking she said "i'm sorry simon, I've made my mind up."
jhibbitt1 Think you’re right, that makes more sense lol
I think if she did say the word "made" it sounded more like she said "made-a" with an extra syllable. I think the actress must've faltered on her lines for a moment, but too quickly for anyone to notice or care
Poor Dot 😭 I felt bad for her when she found Donna dead on her living room floor 💔
Kathy was horrible to her

Because of the rape and could only see him yes not Donnas fault but she had 2 good adoptive parents.
Yeap Kathy was horrible to her own doctor practically responsible for her death.
Aye aye, Donna's dad is Bing from Brookside!

CYN
Johnny Allen's there.
I thought the same thing but he's name here is David?
That’s not the actor who was Johnny Alan! Lol
If Den left his money to Sharon how did the Fowlers get their hands on it
Michelle tells Sharon her secret. Sharon gets mad and gives Michelle the money saying Den's real daughter should have it. Michelle doesn't want it and gives it back. Sharon dumps it in the Fowler's letterbox. I think that's how it went.
I liked Frank's mum it was horrible when she got dementia
Arfa!!
