- 2007 Ford Edge Remote Start Installation Avital 4105L and Flashlogic FLCAN In the video prior to this one, I pre-wired the wiring harnesses to make it easier to install. I'll put a link to that video below. I did have one problem with this remote start and that was finding good accurate information regarding the parking light wire. The information that I had was very vague (as far as saying that I needed a relay to isolate the wire during operation and not being able to point me in the direction of the wiring information on that) and incorrect. The diagram that I had said the parking light wire was white and there was no white wire at the switch. I did some testing and thought it was a positive trigger, I was wrong and burned up the switch. I bought a new one and replaced it all is well now.

Awsome video and install 👌 👍
Hi quick question. I have the same remote starter but i don’t like the honk every time i lock/unlock the doors.
How can i disable the horn? Can i do that by programming it or i need to remove the brown wire? Thx
You should be able to do that through programming
Can this be installed on a car with a manual transmission?
I'm pretty sure it says on the box that it is for automatic transmission vehicles only. It can be done but I don't recommend it.
Whats better hide the brain first then conect wires or first conect wires then hide the brain ?
Great question! Kinda like the chicken or the egg, which one came first. I like to do the wiring first then hide the brain but when you do that you have to make sure the wires are long enough to be able to place the brain where you want it. Also sometimes they pass module needs to be installed for initial programming then removed for final programming so on it's easier for me to leave it out until the installation is complete. When it comes to installing a security system, it does make sense to hide the brain as good as you can and then run your wires only as long as you need them to make it easier to conceal the installation.
I have a 98 99 gmc Yukon with a factory keyless entry. Do I need to uninstall the factory keyless and if so how? I have the passlock 2 anti theft but there isn't a chipped key so do I need an interface module? I have the avital 4105L I want to install for the remote start. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you
I have responded to your email.
@@DCAutoEnhancement thank you very much
When installing on a ford with factory alarm. Do you need to disable anything on the factory alarm? In my prestige alarm there is a wire for factory alarm negative output.
It is a good idea to hook that up. What car is it?
@@DCAutoEnhancement its actually a lincoln 2007 mark lt.
Did you have to have 2 keys to the vehicle for your install? I have a 2014 ford edge sel awd
I think it was only one key. I'll check in a bit and get back to you
I just looked it up, you need two keys for programming
What colors are the lock and unlock wires running under the kick panel
Gray/yellow and violet/gray

I have a question on this avital how do you make the horn honk when lock and unlock?
There is a brown wire in the main harness(not the one with the big wires) it sends a negative signal interned to be use with the horn on your car. You can usually find the horn wire at the steering column
Hello, I'm working on a 2010 and am getting a constant flashing light on the unit. Would i be able to email you regarding it?
dcautodiy@gmail.com
My alarm system has 3 12v wires can i tap all of them into 1 12v wire Without shorting anything out ?
It wouldn't short anything out. Worse case it could overload the circuit. If it is an alarm not a remote start, you should be good.
@@DCAutoEnhancement its a alarm remote start system.
@@fandechavalones3022 can you tell me the vehicle and the remote start model number?

Hello. Great video, thanks for taking the time to show the install. I had one put in back in 2013. Worked great till about a year ago. The unlock/lock would work about 60% of the time and the auto start would be about 40%. Are there reset steps? I don't have the instructions or any software since I paid to have it installed. Thanks.
Do you know what brand and model? Usually in a situation that you are describing, it is a weak connection. It could be a loose ground or if they used t-taps or Scotch Loks, it could be a bad connection. You can test this theory by finding the connections of the main power wires and pull tension on them while pressing the lock/unlock button. Let me know if this helps
@@DCAutoEnhancement Thanks so much for the quick response. I was under there today messing with stuff. Moving wires and whatnot. I don't believe that worked because the unlock/lock buttons still didn't do anything. I then tried "resetting" it by watching another video on UA-cam and I got it to do 15 or 20 clicks which I assumed was the marker lights blinking. But then after that, I couldn't even get the unlock/lock buttons to work intermittently. I'm 99% sure I didn't something in the "resetting" steps. And I apologize, I do not know the model. I can look on the modules tomorrow and see if they say a model number.
@@parlyalien8944 they usually have the model number either molded into the plastic housing or a sticker.
@@DCAutoEnhancement ok, cool. Thanks for the tip. I'll look at them tomorrow and let you know what they say. I appreciate the help.
@@parlyalien8944 no problem, I hope I can help you solve your issue
I have a 2007 mkx and everthing is working , just not shutting down with the brake pedal , so how do i do a hard wire to the brake pedal ? Im using the FLRSF01 from flashlogic ...
If there is a brake shut down wire the goes to the FLRSF01, then you will hook that wire up to the brake switch at the pedal that is 12v + while the brake pedal is pushed down. You may have to have the key on in order to test for this wire.
There is not a brake wire on the FLRSF01
@@jgrijalva1998 are you comfortable with wiring a relay? You can use the hood shut down wire to stop the remote start using the brake pedal but you will have to u see eva relay to change polarity. I can send you a link to the writing information
I would greatly appreciate it 🙏

Is the Klon option/step because you only had 1 key??
The software is what tells you to do the klon but yes that allows you to program only one key to the module. Back in the day it used to be that you had to have two programmed keys to program the bypass module.
Ok, 👌 thanks for the reply. I am currently researching installing on my 2007 Lincoln Lt. I will be installing Audiovox prestige Aps997z and will be using the FLCAN. I just need to order the flprog adapter. @@DCAutoEnhancement
Trying to purchase everything needed for 2011 Ford F-150 remote start installation .. just to clarify, I need the Avita 4105L, FLCAN, and Datalink, correct?
Additionally, what instructions are you referencing on your phone? Flashlogic instructions?
So you will the the remote start (Avital 4105L), the bypass (FLCAN), the programmer I believe the part number is FLPROG and that should be all. The instructions that I referenced are the Flashlogic instructions as well as vehicle wiring instructions. Just Google "car alarm wiring" and you look for commando car alarm wiring. If you have trouble with any of this I can give you direct links.

My ignition wires are like 14 gauge I can hook those thick wires right to that and be OK
Yes. However you will want to find a heavy gauge wire for your 12v constant that you hook the two red wires up to.
@@DCAutoEnhancement so take the 2 12 gauge constant to the battery and the rest of the thicker gauge wires can tie into the 14 gauge ignition wires
@@michaeltrevisan2805 that is the best way to do it!
Question on the fcal no matter how I flash as soon. As I select the mode it will flash red led. Its saying its missing programming. I have had nothing but issues. First prestige aps997z did not work. Got a replacement alarm works now but. I can get passed the key cloning.
I just ran into this very problem last week. I had to use two programmed keys to get it to program correctly. So the initial programming, I used the first key, had red blinking light then I inserted the second key and got the green light. I took it out and did the klon programming then re installed it in the car and had to insert one key got red flashing lights then inserted the second key and then I had green light and it worked fine. This happened on a 2012 Ford Focus
What are you working on?
@@DCAutoEnhancement 2007 lincoln mark lt truck
@@DCAutoEnhancement i get to select the mode . I confirm and get green solid then get red flashing led. I have re flashed many times.
@@angel85lx do you have a second key that you can try?
What about tachometer?
Tach actually worked through the FLCAN
Ok 👍 thanks
Sorry, I just realized that I didn't show how to program the tach wire. I'll make sure that I don't miss that on the next one
Ok when you programming you go trough data tach or tach?
The bypass was able to provide the actual tach information to the remote start through data. So I was able to program the remote start to use the tach signal rather than dbi or voltage. Are you you installing a remote start on your car, if so what car is it?
