I assume the point is that the heat denatures whatever protein is causing the problem. Not sure if this could produce enough heat to achieve that though

It was developed by a start up from the same institute I worked at. It does work. But there is almost nothing crazy innovative. It’s literally just slight amount of heat. Yes, you will never burn yourself and is the same amount of heat, but you can use like a hot spoon (just not too hot).
