The most ironic thing is that Zack Snyder and James Gunn are actually good friends in real life.
Like, they even collaborated on a movie that is widely considered one of Snyder’s best movies.

@@dobi287 no, they’ve literally kept in contact with each other over the years. Snyder has gone on record to say Gunn is a buddy. James Gunn has said in interviews that he and Zack have been friends for a long time (actually, if you look at an old interview for Brightburn, he even says he’s a fan of Man of Steel). James Gunn supported him at Snydercon.
Snyder actually had some indirect involvement in Peacemaker through his recommendation to Gunn of a stunt coordinator that he’s used in the past on his own films.
Snyder even called Gunn right after he got the Co-CEO job and wished him all the best.

But it’s not like they’re *just* work colleagues or just accidentally bumping into ex coworker or school alumnus.
They’re definitely not on opposing teams, that’s for sure, unlike what the hardcore Snyder and Gunn fans would try to make them out to be.
(Actually, not a lot of people keep in contact with their alumnus and ex coworkers that aren’t their friends; most people just split when they’re out of there and only talk with their friends)

Yeah, as a Snyder fan who has loved most of what he's put out, I find it really fucking weird how they worship him. He's just a movie director. Also a big fan of Gunn and looking forward to what he does with Superman. There's room to love both.

I'm an open minded fan of DC. If some new show or movie from DC comes out, I'll give it a try and watch. If I like it, then I'll keep enjoying. But if I'm not into it, then I stop and just go about my life.
Over the past few days I've seen Snyder cultists blindly hate on Guardians 3. Not only coming with the lamest excuses as to why the entire trilogy is "bad" but also hoping the movie suffers in its second week.
I'm by no means putting all my hope into James Gunn, but the man clearly has a knack for writing loveable characters and especially turning obscure/forgotten characters into household names. He's on a solid streak.
The Snyder Cultists won't acknowledge this but Snyder's kind of Comic Book love is based of Heavy Metal i think is the title? Typcially the kind of graphic novel comics with more blood, sexuality/nudity and mixed with his kind of film making with slo-mo action scenes. What you'd expected of 300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch. All three films have a cult following similiar like his DCEU/Snyderverse take on DC films. But all 3 under performed what was expected of them, and best Snyder movies do is make their money back, and not alot more. Batman V. Superman is considered the highest gross of the 3 films he's done but after that film's first week/end , its gross was going down lower by the week. Only his loyal Fanbase like Aaron Fischer by example lie and exaggerates the outcome gross of his films first outings and weeks following and does the same negativity on films he hates with a passion like Flash, Blue Beetle, & coming soon Aquaman 2 after Aaron goes to that on a free ticket. Doesn't like giving WB money so he's like a childish free loader sneaking in for a free showing only to talk trash of it later on youtube.
He literally had 100% control for rebel moon 1-2 and look at those absolute garbage heaps of movies.
I still remember a month ago i found a post where they said James gunn's superman will not or can't beat zack snyder's scene where zod fighting superman in metropolis. Bruh we barely see anything from james gunn's superman and somehow they are having this future foresight where nothing he made will top a scene where superman fighting zod and barely trying to prevent the destruction of metropolis. And then they brought up the whole superman logo from Gunn's superman and said it looks like the SS Nazi logo like bruh
I like Zach Synder but I don’t like his DCEU, and I don’t really put the blame on him tho I feel like WB rushed in to BVS bc Civil War was coming out, and I feel his approach to storytelling isn’t good for the dcu, he’s too nihilistic which I feel could work as a else world Superman trilogy in the vain as TDK trilogy, but in a fully fledged dc universe he’s need to be optimistic to have a baseline of morality for the other heroes

The Snyder Cult is one of the things that truly DISGUSTS me on the internet.
I don't think that Zack Snyder is a good director, but I can confidently say that I thoroughly enjoyed his Justice League movie, and the reason being is that I thought it worked as an Elseworlds version of the team I love so much. Just because I liked the movie doesn't mean I need to go around and yelling at people who don't like it, because that isn't cool.
These are like the people that criticize anything Star Wars nowadays without even viewing the project in question.
To those who like to think that Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League form the greatest comic book movie trilogy, then that's fine. Like what you like. It doesn't say anything bad about you. However, if someone disagrees with you, don't give them a hard time just because you can.
Before I end this off, there are much better trilogies under the DC name. The DCAU Trilogy with Batman, Superman, and Justice League (Unlimited), The Dark Knight Trilogy, The Arkham Trilogy, and even (to a certain extent at this point [IMO]) the Crisis on Infinite Earths Trilogy.
While I can appreciate those who like Zack's work, I cannot agree with how they showcase their "love".
I agree. I really like the Snyder cut, but the characters are blatantly misrepresented almost to the point of assassination, and a reboot was beyond necessary as a result. Love the Flash scene toward the end, hate Ezra Miller's portrayal of The Flash.

@@faith4657 I certainly agree. The problem was the studio wanted one thing, Snyder envisioned another. I don’t believe Snyder was the guy to lead DC as a whole. He pitched a five arc film it seemed and the studio wanted to do a similar thing as marvel with the solo films, except all the other filmmakers had their own ideas and they couldn’t come to a cohesive continuity.
I like the idea of his 5 arc film (even if the story wasn’t perfect and had A LOT of flaws I couldn’t get behind). I liked Man of Steel and his Justice League. But from what I read about the later vision I don’t think the rest of the story would have worked the best…it’s certainly sad the studio did him wrong, but I think his fans are far too heinous against the current state of thing without any of his playing out yet.

This perfectly encapsulates what is wrong with Snyder fans. They have a blatant refusal to acknowledge the subjective nature of movies, or to accept that Snyder has any flaws, it's like they close their eyes and block their ears whenever someone is talking bad about the dude, without even for one moment considering the evidence or perspective put forth by his detractors. I love Kevin Smith movies, they have been a massive part of my life since I was 13 years old and watching Mall Rats on VHS for the first time, but it doesn't mean I don't think Yoga Hossers was gold 😂. You lose all credibility when you blindly follow any artist and think they can do no wrong

Cavill isn’t the only actor capable of playing Superman
We’ve had a lot of great actors playing Supes in the past, hell we had Christopher Reeve who’s still a fan favourite, just like Sean Connery as James Bond.
We even have a great Superman actor with Tyler Hoechlin on Superman & Lois in my opinion
So to me, the character is more important than the actors playing them, and I won’t judge Superman Legacy yet, but I’m going to see it, cause I love Superman

I do like his three movies (especially his Batman outfit design) but yeah he’s not the great director and I’m really looking for to James Gunn’s DC slate in the future.
I think the SnyderVerse would've turned out better if it was presented as a DC Elseworlds project.
It wasn't presented as a main continuity either. Hell it is *heavily* influenced by an elseworlds noncanon story.

Comic book accurate (costumes or anything) does not make movie good it can be even worse. Xmen 2 didnt have accurate costumes or characters canon and is still one of the best superhero movies.

As a fan of the Snyderverse, I can understand why some people hate on the movies. They're gritty, dark, and depressing with a dash of hope at the end (more like the smallest pinch of hope at times). They're not for everyone, but they're very well put together for the audience they are intended for.
That said, James Gunn's reboot of the DCEU will fail tremendously because he is not the God of directors, Zack Snyder. Praised be.

I really like Matt Reeves' take on Batman. I don't care what the Snyder Cult thinks.
I got into it once with a Snyder fan. It was over Man of Steel. I brought up the fact that Zack didn't like comics. He was more into Watchmen because of the adult themes. This is why it's his first comic book movie, and people don't like to talk about it. I don't know why. It's a great movie that Zack made. Anyway, he also threw a piece of info at me that I was 1000% prepared for. He said that Zack got into heavy metal and had to walk away from comics for a while. I instantly knew that was Gerard Way's words from his launch of Umbrella Academy. Because Gerard is an actual musician. These people are fucking nuts.

I think people defend him so hard because when dc first started with man of steel weirdo marvel movie fans ( I’m guessing comic book collectors ) felt threatened like it was a rival sports team and would trash man of steel if the mete topic of movies came up. Im not someone that enjoys comic books and most comic movies. I liked ZSnyder’s because they took themselves seriously and felt more like dramas. i would say i am a big fan of Gunn, Snyder, Villeneuve, Scott, The Russos, Reeves, Stahelski and Leitch but i have been disappointed by some of them before.

I think changing comic to screen is fine, but when it comes to story and minor changes to character. These books have lasted as long as they have because the PERSON is compelling. I really like Echo in the comics, recognizing that she’s basically taskmaster’s power set, but the show just changed it all and turned it mystical and I find I just can’t enjoy it as much. Is the show bad? No. But it ain’t good either.

I can save everyone 12 minutes the "cult" was formed when it became fashionable to mock snyder bash his movies and fans which really jumped into high gear for 2013 man of Steel, when bullying and gaslighting the fans of the moves grew to an all time high in the josstice league era.
Everyone complains about the problem they created, from screen rant to Collider it was acceptable to attack Zack Snyder and co and it was unexpected that the fans did not cower and take it and apologize but instead they became hardened and ferocious.

I like Zack Snyder. I don't like all of his films. I loved Man of Steel because I thought it was a comic-accurate Superman depiction (of his character, not the story), just not Christopher Reeve-accurate. Superman is quite lonely, at first. And there are multiple interpretations of the character in comics. Superman kills Zod in the comics, too. Batman v Superman was a poor theatrical cut. The extended addition was quite enjoyable, however both have a very good performance from Affleck as a far too murderous Batman. The theatrical Justice League was utter crap, but that was Whedon's fault. The Snyder cut was amazing. I don't like 300, I love Watchmen. I don't care for most of the rest of Snyder's films. I LOVE Matt Reeves' The Batman. I am very much looking forward to the rebooted DC Universe and am really looking forward to The Flash film. I'd have liked to have seen Snyder complete his vision with a 4th and 5th film. However, my main goal is to see a successful DC Cinematic Universe. I believe we have more of a chance of that under James Gunn.

He isnt Spiderman (with almost infinite power, comes almost infinite responsibility) , he isnt Batman. Superman doesnt act like a cop, POWER doesnt corrupt Superman. Tho in comics The use of power has corrupted Batman in different occassions. Superman is a rescuer. and.. thats what he does in the DCEU. Him going to visit a school is as Superman. as him leaving job to save a mexican girl. ....... SURE STILL SuperCavill is an alternative version of Sups sure, but man.. with all due respect, You got this a bit wrong. IT IS still adapting from the core of the comics.

About #DCU i think Gunn will do well. and i bet consdering he knows how to be more expressive, will play better with audiences. he'll deliver something you & many others will enjoy alot.

I don't condone hating on people for whatever reason, but I've genuinely never seen more hate for anyone than Zack Snyder. I've seen multiple dozen comments calling him "Hack Snyder" and I've even seen people say that they're glad his daughter died. From what I've seen online, I'd say there's a bigger Snyder hating cult.
Snyder's known flops would be 300, Sucker Punch, Watchmen. I agree on what you say on James Gunn. Snyder Cult are flat out boycotting every DC movie Not directed by Snyder, Nolan & Matt Reeves . Why i know this, Example is Aaron Fisher and people like him being Toxic Negativity Spreaders. They all want to compare DC heroes to Nolan's Batman for the sake of Dark/Gritty and realism & because of his trilogy, they think that's the success idea for any DC character no matter who their name is. Wrong, simply Wrong! Superman is the flipside of Batman like so many, many DC heroes. Nolan's Batman is good because of the way he made those films and Batman is easiest/most popular DC character to do it. So Snyder Fans, let's take what Nolan did, and make every single DC hero just like Nolan's Batman. Nolan's was involved in MOS, so that says it all! Snyder doesnt care to be apart of a big DCEU anyways, after JLU Snyder Cut, he was gonna be done. So after 5 Snyder directed movies, thats it. Aaron Fisher and many Snyder fans say it themselves. They're being toxic by boycotting every DC movie not directed by Snyder, The Flash, Aquaman 2 not yet released and already being trashed Before it's release over a trailer???? Same thing BlueBeetle, They're saying anything/everything about Gunn & WB to see that DCU Does Not Happen.

I love MOST of his movies . BVS UE is my favorite movie of all time and after that it’s the other 2 ( MOS and ZSJL) . I don’t generally like comics although I appreciate the artwork talent.
Then there’s 300 and Watchmen which are also probably in my top 15 flicks ever. Guardians is an entertaining movie to me due to the animation . I actually like ( don’t love )Sucker Punch for what it is.Its fine. I’m not into zombie flicks so I’m not big on Army or Dawn. Rebel Moon part 1 and 2 I couldn’t believe what I was watching. But I’m confident in directors cut. Weird though

I personally like Snyder movies with a few exceptions. One of the best parts about the Snyder cut of Justice League was that he dedicated it to his daughter. He said he wanted to make something she might have liked. The Snyder cut did something not often achieved where the director ended up having full creative control and released the total vision, that's why it was so long. It was awesome though. The Josh Whedon cut was hot garbage. Snyder had left the set earlier because of his daughter and couldn't finish the movie. ... Batman vs Superman was exactly like the Frank Miller comic I read when I was younger. Man of Steel was badass. just my 2 cents
additionally, cinematic universe always is a combination of new creative direction on top of the foundation of source material. it's not just one or the other.

So an analogy or derivative of the standard cult definition might be what is happening in the video. No big deal, I just like Snyder movies starting with 300, and onward. Just a preference since I grew up with the comic books he creates the movies from.
Not saying he is the best director of all time, but I like a lot of comic book movies, pretty much all of them. I'm not part of a cult it just sounds insulting really to have everything so generically bundled together in the argument the video presents.
