Erika J gets lots of love here, which she deserves, but I didn't want the review of the glue to be clouded by someone's fandom for her. Also, I don't agree you should have to use bald cap to get a correct hold. When you use a cap you are still supposed to put the glue on the skin, not the fabric, so if that's the case, it should say on the bottle, MUST USE BALD CAP. The only disclaimer I saw on the site was as follows: "Disclaimer: everyone’s body chemistry isn’t the same some may have oiler skin than others. If this is the case, the adhesive will eventually break down because of your bodily oils. Read the ingredients and perform a patch test on yourself before using on your entire forehead. Everyone’s body chemistry is different and we are not held responsible for any allergic reactions. " So if that's the case, then basically they have already stated the glue may work differently for different people. Jada said plenty of times that the glue is good she literally said that it could last through 2 weeks and a fire! She mostly had issues with the WIG and tired it again. With that, she concluded that the glue stays on but when it comes to drenching it in the water... honestly I think that's just a dream for all glues unless it's silicone. Erika J's product is sold all the way out anyway, so an honest review is not defaming her business or stopping her sales. I haven't tried it but it's affordable (cheaper than Bold Hold, also black-owned) and I'm all for more black women owning things in the hair industry. It's a win!
Yessir, this adhesive is the bomb.com. I’ve tried them all, this one is my one and only. Even over Bold Hold, Esha, and Ghost Bold, all which are some of the strongest hair piece adhesives on the market, but have too much of a water base in the compound to hold any longer than a week if I’m lucky. This one gives a four week hold with no lifting, sliding or touch ups at all . I do follow Ericka’s advice from her tutorials by using the skin guard, skin cleansing prep, and layering 2-3 times before application of the wig, this helps tremendously if you live in a hot climate locations (Florida) etc. or sweat a lot or have oily skin. My skin is normal and I don’t sweat excessively, so these factors work in my favor for maximum hold results, but being in the sun too much can undermine all of that if you don’t layer the glue . So take all these factors into consideration plus this video advice in making your decision to purchase. Hope this info helps someone.Great video btw. And me personally the whole reason of me watching is because I work out almost everyday and a sweat proof glue is something I need. So here you are helping me with items to purchase and what not to purchase because it will not hold for people like me who sweat a lot!

Not realizing that they are human and they do sweat which no glue can ever do anything about that. (I know because I’ve tried every formula ever before dropping my own!) When you sweat your own natural hair frizzes up. But I know my products are GREAT 💚

Ive tried it. I had no lifting until (on the corners) the end of the 2nd week when i washed my hair for a 2nd time. I live in socal so it be HOT HOT & i be sweating. But anyways i used the skin guard she sells but didnt do the bald cap method and my install lasted 3 weeks.

Hey! Unfortunately you are applying it incorrectly. I made a video explaining it once I dropped the line. You didn’t do the bald cap method that I did. You applied it directly to your skin which is for a 1 week hold. Nothing more. If you want a “water proof” install you have to do that bald cap method I did. And you don’t need a “million” layers. All you need to do is follow the instructions correctly.
Hello. I’ve said many times that I don’t like the bald cap method so that’s why I didn’t do it for this video. I actually do like this glue and said in the video that it does last long (1 week or even 2) without moisture. After adding moisture, it came off. Maybe it’s because I didn’t do the bald cap method but not everyone does the bald cap method. It actually isn’t my favorite way to apply a wig. I wanted to review this glue in the most natural way possible. Once again I do like the glue. I’m pretty sure if I did the bald cap method, it would stay on.

Hey girl, So my thoughts, your review was pretty fair! Considering I use her glue for all my installs. Recently I went on vacation and I had did a frontal ponytail. I did (4) layers of glue. While kayaking the boat tipped over lol & I got soaked. I must say the glue still held on. The say day while jet skiing I fell off (lol yes twice in 1 day) & my frontal was still holding on. Once I looked in the mirror I did notice my frontal had slipped back, however; my ponytail lasted after that so I was able to get a total of (2) weeks. Normally my installs will last 3 weeks maybe (4) if I keep up with it. So to piggyback off of you.... I say 8/10 would be a fair rating. Great review girly :-)

What I said was I respected her opinion because I'm also not a fan of the bald cap method. But I know you have to do that method for her product to work properly. Carry on with your assumptions tho.
The hairline is actually called buckling and it's when you pulled the lace too far over trying to get it on the lowest part of your hairline so once it dries its pulling back and then its causing buckling of the skin you have to lay the hairline down naturally no extra stretching of the lace or anything or either the cap is too small for you based off size

But baby when I did it exactly like she did in her instruction video it really works and is water proof. You can not apply it to just skin. You have to do the cap. And I did 4 layers. No matter what glue you use the way you put it on it’s gonna come off

I had the glue and it did not hold for me at all a I did a bold cap And I never bought it again and I went to her channel and did it step by step and it was the summer . All glues are not for everyone end of story.I enjoy your honest reviews I look forward to them. Keep up the honesty

By day 4 you were ready to toss the wig 😂 . You did miss a few steps. If you are planning to wear the wig for 5 days or longer and want to go to the gym or swimming you need to apply a skin protector and spray your scalp with hold me down spray to last longer. She did a tutorial on this as well. I give you kudos for showing that just the glue alone IS SUPER STRONG!!!
Most glues say "last up to two weeks (.....weeks) depending on body chemistry" I never get past 7 days with any adhesive. Question...are the ingredients listed?
Me and my friend broke out in a horrible rash and it really doesn’t hold. And don’t come with it being applied wrong. I have so many different glues and I’ve never had a reaction like this and after two days the wig jus slid back. Tried a closure wig and my frontal wig. It’s a no for me
I work HARD for my money and I don't make much. When I look for reviews I want REAL info both good and especially bad. So I can make an informed decision based on my needs. Thank you for this
@@severalpiece7105 no I decided not to get it after different reviews and the company seems just a bit shady for me lol I'll stick with bold hold for great hold and easy clean up. Bold hold maax if you need water proof or extended wear. That thing won't budge lol. I only use it for needed occasions. The same company also has a gel that's really good for daily wear. Will last all day without worry of slippage and no funky chemical smells. But the clean up is not the best. Especially if you put it on too wet. Basically the company that sells bold hold, I have all of their products for different occasions. Great company no shady stuff fast shipping and reliable. Been using for years. I was researching this to explore other options but I'll stick with what I know is good

I use the glue. The first time kept coming up. I re did the whole thing. In back. l put lace tap behind the lace glue line. Guess what after 24 hrs. It stay so far 1 week in half. I wet my hair everyday. No lift a little lose just tie down let dry you're good again. Great video your personality is fun makes it even better. Keep up great work.
Hey jade, I use Erickson j products too and I think if you use the skin guard first then the glue it wouldn't have start to lift up, if you watch her videos she explains the best way to use her Method
When I timestamped this video at 21:32 see Jada in the shower demonstrating how the lace was lifting up on the edges. Then she started fake-crying, I swear I rolled with laughter her expression was priceless. She could do stand-up. So cute. It was great. Anything on the face and scalp absorbs into the skin and blood stream so I'd like to know the glue ingredients before I purchase.
Maybe I’ve been applying it wrong but it lifts whenever I sweat. It’s never lasted longer than 2 days for me. And yes, I apply the recommended 3 layers with the bald cap method. Any suggestions?
I just installed my wig on Saturday following her video and used the skin protect. Today is Wednesday and she still holding down so I don't know if using the skin guard made the difference.
Hey all I’ve tried the glue twice the first time without the bold cap method and my wig came right off. Oh yea and i didn’t have her skin protector. I purchased the skin protector and removed. The second time I follow her method and my wig lasted for a full 2 weeks. When It was time to use the removal 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ my forehead broke out 😕 burning and red. I couldn’t even finish removing my wig. 😒 the glue is amazing however it work best with the skin protector.
Using alchohol. dry your skin out and tie your hair down tightly especially the first night. Use wide width of glue like in her video your install will last way longer my install lasted 12 days and i used a different glue, not even my full wig glued down only half but some day you can just spray a lil got 2 b on the sides u feel like is lifting and just blow dry it down itll with

I wear ericka j glue you have to put it on exactly like she tells you and I personally give my wigs 72hr before getting it wet because the hold gets firmer and firmer as the days go by it seems to me but I still like your review and all your reviews I love your honesty 👍👍💯💯❣
Like review. Although I’ve never used the hold me down because the are gone as soon as Ericka announce when the products are available. One thing I’ve realize with these glue it depends on the amount of layers that you used and the levels of your activity. I will definitely give her a try if I can get my hands on it.
If it lifted less then three hours then it had to be your application, your body chemistry and what level of heat you were enduring.My got2be glue lasts around 3 hours 😭
I have used this glue multiple times, I follow the instructions, I let it cure for 24hrs or more before letting it get wet, but only last me maximum of 4days before sides start to lift

I love all the hair styles i think this glue is good for day to day wear i think the sweat test was valid i think it needs to be reapplied for longer wear after water and sweat come into play. Great job hun your beautiful keep up the great video's.

Exactlyyyyy, I never tried the bald cap method and never will. Its not my thing. A glue should do what it says n thats hold, whether the bald cap method is used or not. Ghost Bond holds my hair for a long time, no bald cap needed. I have to try this product again, lol

She said to where the glue in conjunction with the bald cap method using .five layers and put the glue on top of the cap too and then place the wig lace on top to get a Velcro effect

@@greyjedii Okay I have an update! I laid my lace frontal with Ericka J 9 days ago and have had 6 two-hour gym sessions in that time. I wear a ball cap and pull the hair through the hole like a pony tail when I workout. And I tie it down when I sleep and when I shower under a shower cap. Oh! And a 24 cure of no sweating or water! Yesterday, day 8, was when I could start seeing a little lifting on the very edges of two parts of the lace. That in itself, to get 8 full days workouts and all, before any signs of lifting (and I live in central Texas, our humidity and heat is BRUTAL in the Summer), this tells me her glue would work on anyone! I used the Skin Guard and followed her steps in her recent video and used 4 layers. TRY IT. Crazy thing is, I'm certain I could just spot treat those tiny parts that are lifting, or just hold them down with mousse when I style the baby hair, but I use a silky straight 18" and honestly, it feels like it needs to be washed already after all the sweating. But I'm gonna keep it on because I ordered her adhesive remover and I really want to wait and see how well that works, should be coming in any day now. I'll just be pushing down those small liftings with mousse for now. This stuff is the business! Child, when I tell ya after a 3 day cure with Ghost Bond Platinum per their company I called them in Florida, that 4th day I worked out, came home, lift city!! I was pissed! All that damn work and bald cap and curing for 3 damn days and for it to lift!! Her restock is 7/7 give it a try and let me know if it worked! Have an awesome day!

Every product in this world has their own instructions and it’s for a reason. I’ve tried baking a cake my way without following the instructions and it came out wrong. That doesn’t mean the company sucks or their cakes are good but I just didn’t follow the instructions. So you do need to follow the instructions and if you’re going do a review you should follow it correctly 💚

I ain’t gone lie I’m using a Amazon cheap 90 something dollars wig and the lace not the best too me but Ericka hair glue got me melted I been using her glue on my tinashe wigs and nothing but melt and 3 weeks wear without skin guard but to lay this cheap wig on top of her melt spray I ain’t touched bold hold active since last year 😭

Sounds like a way to rip out your hairline and to have it looking unnatural

It’s definitely the application. The first time I tried it I was mad af I thought the glue was a scam. But baby when I did it exactly like she did in her instruction video it really works and is water proof. You can not apply it to just skin. You have to do the cap. And I did 4 layers. No matter what glue you use the way you put it on it’s gonna come off

I really don’t think you need it but if you really want to get it then you can. Just make sure you clean your skin if you don’t get it.
I do respect it. I really just can’t do the bald cap method. My skin is super sensitive and the tension causes bruises.

By day 4 you were ready to toss the wig 😂 . You did miss a few steps. If you are planning to wear the wig for 5 days or longer and want to go to the gym or swimming you need to apply a skin protector and spray your scalp with hold me down spray to last longer. She did a tutorial on this as well. I give you kudos for showing that just the glue alone IS SUPER STRONG!!!

Me and my friend broke out in a horrible rash and it really doesn’t hold. And don’t come with it being applied wrong. I have so many different glues and I’ve never had a reaction like this and after two days the wig jus slid back. Tried a closure wig and my frontal wig. It’s a no for me

@@severalpiece7105 no I decided not to get it after different reviews and the company seems just a bit shady for me lol I'll stick with bold hold for great hold and easy clean up. Bold hold maax if you need water proof or extended wear. That thing won't budge lol. I only use it for needed occasions. The same company also has a gel that's really good for daily wear. Will last all day without worry of slippage and no funky chemical smells. But the clean up is not the best. Especially if you put it on too wet. Basically the company that sells bold hold, I have all of their products for different occasions. Great company no shady stuff fast shipping and reliable. Been using for years.

I use the glue. The first time kept coming up. I re did the whole thing. In back. l put lace tap behind the lace glue line. Guess what after 24 hrs. It stay so far 1 week in half. I wet my hair everyday. No lift a little lose just tie down let dry you're good again. Great video your personality is fun makes it even better. Keep up great work.
Hey jade, I use Erickson j products too and I think if you use the skin guard first then the glue it wouldn't have start to lift up, if you watch her videos she explains the best way to use her Method
When I timestamped this video at 21:32 see Jada in the shower demonstrating how the lace was lifting up on the edges. Then she started fake-crying, I swear I rolled with laughter her expression was priceless. She could do stand-up. So cute. It was great. Anything on the face and scalp absorbs into the skin and blood stream so I'd like to know the glue ingredients before I purchase.

Maybe I’ve been applying it wrong but it lifts whenever I sweat. It’s never lasted longer than 2 days for me. And yes, I apply the recommended 3 layers with the bald cap method. Any suggestions?
I just installed my wig on Saturday following her video and used the skin protect. Today is Wednesday and she still holding down so I don't know if using the skin guard made the difference.
Hey all I’ve tried the glue twice the first time without the bold cap method and my wig came right off. Oh yea and i didn’t have her skin protector. I purchased the skin protector and removed. The second time I follow her method and my wig lasted for a full 2 weeks. When It was time to use the removal 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ my forehead broke out 😕 burning and red. I couldn’t even finish removing my wig. 😒 the glue is amazing however it work best with the skin protector.

Using alchohol. dry your skin out and tie your hair down tightly especially the first night. Use wide width of glue like in her video your install will last way longer my install lasted 12 days and i used a different glue, not even my full wig glued down only half but some day you can just spray a lil got 2 b on the sides u feel like is lifting and just blow dry it down itll with

I wear ericka j glue you have to put it on exactly like she tells you and I personally give my wigs 72hr before getting it wet because the hold gets firmer and firmer as the days go by it seems to me but I still like your review and all your reviews I love your honesty 👍👍💯💯❣

Like review. Although I’ve never used the hold me down because the are gone as soon as Ericka announce when the products are available. One thing I’ve realize with these glue it depends on the amount of layers that you used and the levels of your activity. I will definitely give her a try if I can get my hands on it.

I have used this glue multiple times, I follow the instructions, I let it cure for 24hrs or more before letting it get wet, but only last me maximum of 4days before sides start to lift

I love all the hair styles i think this glue is good for day to day wear i think the sweat test was valid i think it needs to be reapplied for longer wear after water and sweat come into play. Great job hun your beautiful keep up the great video's.

Exactlyyyyy, I never tried the bald cap method and never will. Its not my thing. A glue should do what it says n thats hold, whether the bald cap method is used or not. Ghost Bond holds my hair for a long time, no bald cap needed. I have to try this product again, lol

Maybe because it’s the chemicals in the glue reacting to your skin try another glue like eisha, bold hold, or any other brand💕💕

people need to understand that a bald cap and and the glue protector help hold the wig down for a long period of time, without both its going to lift.

@@greyjedii Okay I have an update! I laid my lace frontal with Ericka J 9 days ago and have had 6 two-hour gym sessions in that time. I wear a ball cap and pull the hair through the hole like a pony tail when I workout. And I tie it down when I sleep and when I shower under a shower cap. Oh! And a 24 cure of no sweating or water! Yesterday, day 8, was when I could start seeing a little lifting on the very edges of two parts of the lace. That in itself, to get 8 full days workouts and all, before any signs of lifting (and I live in central Texas, our humidity and heat is BRUTAL in the Summer), this tells me her glue would work on anyone! I used the Skin Guard and followed her steps in her recent video and used 4 layers. TRY IT. Crazy thing is, I'm certain I could just spot treat those tiny parts that are lifting, or just hold them down with mousse when I style the baby hair, but I use a silky straight 18" and honestly, it feels like it needs to be washed already after all the sweating. But I'm gonna keep it on because I ordered her adhesive remover and I really want to wait and see how well that works, should be coming in any day now. I'll just be pushing down those small liftings with mousse for now. This stuff is the business! Child, when I tell ya after a 3 day cure with Ghost Bond Platinum per their company I called them in Florida, that 4th day I worked out, came home, lift city!! I was pissed! All that damn work and bald cap and curing for 3 damn days and for it to lift!! Her restock is 7/7 give it a try and let me know if it worked! Have an awesome day!
Hey! You can try using the proper way of using the hold me down system. Maybe it'll last longer. Erika J made a video about it.
Hi. Tbh, if I have to follow a specific way to apply a glue, somethings def wrong. All glues I’ve applied, i cleaned my skin and apply it the same.
@@JadaMcdonald How about you try her hold me down skin guard? You could apply it after you clean your lace to fit with the normal way you lay your wigs.😊 She explained that it lets the meltdown last longer. Hope this helps!
Every product in this world has their own instructions and it’s for a reason. I’ve tried baking a cake my way without following the instructions and it came out wrong. That doesn’t mean the company sucks or their cakes are good but I just didn’t follow the instructions. So you do need to follow the instructions and if you’re going do a review you should follow it correctly 💚

I ain’t gone lie I’m using a Amazon cheap 90 something dollars wig and the lace not the best too me but Ericka hair glue got me melted I been using her glue on my tinashe wigs and nothing but melt and 3 weeks wear without skin guard but to lay this cheap wig on top of her melt spray I ain’t touched bold hold active since last year 😭
