    When you say put it in the oven for a few minutes, my oven at home should be fine for most boots right? In that case I’m wondering at what temperature lol

    • @jhowardsupporter
      @jhowardsupporter 5 років тому +3

      yeah just took my inline liners out of the oven a few days ago. I would use a thermometer cos what you think is 80 c may be 134 c. and the heating element is usually a lot hotter like near 200 c. but the boots can probs take a bit over required temp. check what the manufacture states as the temp for heat moulding. and cranking laces certain ways may damage things after so pull them the direction it shows in the vid. n metal can be hot, dont know if it will burn the carpet or something. that would be funny tho.

    Please help, I need advice on which skates to get after my SFR Galaxy ones. I'm going to get a better pair of skates for Christmas, and I don't know if I should get Jackson Mystique or Artiste? I know artiste are a bit more advanced so they might last me a few more grades than the mystiques. I'm 14, and I'm a skate excel (UK) grade 4 atm. By this christmas i will be grade 5 or 6, i go to 1 lesson weekly. I am very far off practicing any jumps or spins at all, so what do people think?How long do both of those skates last with good care too, do they last more than a year???

    • @everywhere3301
      @everywhere3301 7 років тому +1

      jooniskates I'm getting the Artiste next Friday (I live in US so its in 8 days). It can last over 1 year or 2 if well taken care of. It also has more ankle support and better toe pick for jumps and scratch spins.

      I suggest artiste! I have skated for around 10 years and I have had the chance to have both! The artistes lasted around 2-4 years for me so they are very good tho I do keep them in "perfect" condition! I do like the Jackson Mystique but I just feel like somethings off when I use them so I would say artiste for sure!

      No it is not possible to mold mystiques. I don't know why they did that in the video. They have a pvc sole that can't be heated and they aren't made with the molding material that's on the higher level boots.

    Hi I was wondering if you could help please?
    Im 31 years old and a new leisure skater.. i've been a few times. I enjoy going to keep fit and exercise.
    I bought myself a pair of skates (thought i should have my own pair if i am going to make this a hobby) and i'm having a lot of trouble feeling stable on them. ( currently still breaking them in as they are quite painful to wear )
    Model SFR galaxy adult ice skates size 6
    So I am currently breaking in the boots, but its being made more difficult because i feel so very unstable and like the back of the blades do not touch the ice at all.. im not sure what it is that is causing such a difference in the way i skate??
    Rental ones I am quite steady on and can go round without wobbling with some decent speed.. my own lace up boots.. i just feel really unsteady and unstable like i cant push off properly as i wobble and the skates slip at the back.
    I feel they are laced securely like in your video, they are freshly sharpened as well but i find balancing on them compared to the rental boot skates very difficult.
    does anyone perhaps please have any tips if it is possibly something i am doing?? or any idea of how i can fix it?
    Thanks!!!

      Following, i have pretty much the same problem, rental and my skates are pretty much the same on the ice, but off ice my skates don't have any balance and i can walk barely 2 meters in them until i lose my balance, and in rental skates i could walk normally. I tried everything, tying them tighter or lighter, it got better with tying like in the video, but im still worried...

    hi can i ask ?if you are a begginer is it okay to use rentals? then if you master using rentals you can buy your own skates ? or buy your own skates even you are a begginer
    i need an answer because i want to learn ice skating :)))

      hi im a beginner as well :) i started taking classes a month ago and i have used rentals for most of it to make sure that i really did enjoy skating and that i wouldn't be wasting my money on something i wouldn't do but i do love it and i just bought my jackson skates and am going to use them soon, anyway to answer your question yes it is okay to use rentals but the blades aren't as sharp and you could buy your own skates but i would suggest waiting a bit and using rentals in the very beginning then when you feel that you have the very basics down and you can skate you could buy your own. what i just wrote is kinda messy so sorry if you get confused😅 but i hoped it helped even just a little bit :))

      Well for now I only skate once or twice a week (Friday and Saturday) I would actually want to go more often during the week to practice but I have to wait a couple months till I get my permit so I can go on my own lol but if your rink is close to you I would take advantage of that and practice a lot :)) also if this is an option for you, you could see if you could take classes so you have the basics and can move up to free style when the time comes :)
