How to Make Easy Snap Bags

This project is easy to complete in an hour. These snap bags can be used for a variety of things. You can make mini bags for cosmetics and eye glass cases. Medium size bags for diapers, pencil bags for your kids or even a hand bag to match an outfit. You can make them out of mesh materials, scraps of fabrics and quilted fabric. These make great gifts to give to everyone. You can use up some of your scrap fabric and left over batting to make these cute bags.
You want to get your own tape measure from the hardware store instead of taking your husband's. He probably wouldn't like his tools being cut up.
I made two with my grandkids, and they were able to sew the seams and cut the tape measures.
I am sure you will be making several of these bags for yourself, friends and family.

Great video, precise and to the point. Like the idea of sewing one side before inserting tape. I will try making 4” ones to attach to a sewing mat with Velcro for holding clips and half full bobbins.

I have noticed that there are different sizes in the metal measuring tape, so you can adjust the size to your project.

Do you need to use a heavy duty tape measure?

Thank you for your question. I have used both of them. The 16 foot tape measure from Home Depot had a thinner tape and that is what I use first. Then I got a longer tape and it was a little wider. I think I prefer the thinner one for the small snap bags, but it you are making a much larger one, the thicker tape measure may work better.

Thank you for asking the question! I will be a video making the eye glass case and may alter a few of the measurements. These are what I have on this case:
Outside fabric =14” x 4 1/2 “
Lining and cuff= 18” x 4 1/2”
Batting = 14” x 4 1/2”
Ribbon for the pulls 3”
Tape measure 3-3 1/4”

Yes I agree. You can also make them with French Seams which would enclose the seams so there are no raw edges.
