    Yes, that's the clutch slave cylinder. Also the torque spec you mentioned is the correct number, but not the right units. It's 35 Newton Meters (Nm) which translates to about 26 Foot Pounds.

    Thank you, i got my question answered, the lock ring position did puzzle me somewhat and i forgot how the old ring was positioned :)

    Good tutorial, I would suggest some 'blue' Loctite on those countershaft bolts. Did you mention the shift linkage disconnect?

    Changed my sprocket to 14T. Was driving with 14T 6 month. Felt 20% smoother but the downside is that I got my chain stretched to the point where it could not be stretched back. Now I went back to 15 T.

      Malikov A is that what usually happens? Literally just ordered a 14t front sprocket 😅

    • @malikova9153
      @malikova9153 6 років тому

      This is what happens because you open that space when you get rid of one toooth. More space= more chain damage.

      Not sure if you guys pay attention to how much slack the chain is suppose to have compared to other bike brands. I was told it wasn’t the same by the mechanics at the dealership.

      In all honesty, those 20% you mention are worth a chain... You say in six month, but the usage happens in miles not in month, so how many miles did you get out of your chain and was it new before the 14T? If not, you will never know if it wouldn't have been due anyways...

    Hey man great video. What changes did you feel from the sprocket install? Are starts better? I am a new rider and just got a 2014 M796. Love the bike but starts and low rpm are a pain chugs a little. Thanks

      +Victor DeAngelis hey sorry for the vary late reply, not sure if you done it already but the sprocket change made a big difference one how the low ends feels. smoother first gear and you are actually able to use the 6th gear. i love the upgrade. not expensive at all. hope i help you

    So, why u need smaller? U lose max speed yes?

    • @MyMonster796
      @MyMonster796  2 роки тому +1

      It’s a lot smoother on the low end. Smoother from a stop. Not really worried about top speed. I have a family to go home to. Riding around safely is already risky. Riding around risky isn’t worth what I or my family could loose

    I’m about to do this to my 796. Are you sure it’s okay to remove that 24mm nut securing the rear set to the pivot point of the swing arm? I’m nervous to loosen that one. Since it’s on a bushing, can I just loosen the other two bolts securing the swing arm to the engine and then bend and push the rear set enough to squeeze out the sprocket? Or do you think I should just remove the rear set altogether?

      Alex Wright I can assure you the way the video shows how to do it is safe. I’ve done this a long time ago and haven’t had any issues.

    video is well done I was having trouble with the gear and retaining plate matching up helped a lot. do you think it would have been easier to remove the chain rather than the cover and master cylinder?

    • @MyMonster796
      @MyMonster796  8 років тому

      yes it would have been easier to just remove the chain first, unfortunately i dont have the proper tools to pull the chain YET..

      I just finished doing mine it was easier until I had to put the chain on I'll avoid doing that next time

      @MyMonster796  6 років тому

      Sebastian Razny I used the spanning wrench to adjust the back wheel forward to loosen the chain.

      @@MyMonster796 Hello please prove you are looking at the 2 chain tension screws at 6 min 53 sec. It has a hole in the middle because mine has a hole and it is rusting inside and I can not find anything for information on the internet. Thank you in advance for your help.

    • @MyMonster796
      @MyMonster796  3 роки тому

      @@ThorThor-hw1nj it’s not a Chain tensioning bolt. It’s more like lock nuts. Once you loosen them you’re able to use a spanning wrench to apply or remove tension on your chain.
