I'm a 70 y/o retired ICU RN, MS, I have worked with CRPS of the knees down/L>R feet for many years. Remember when flight attendants used to give out pillows? I always used them for my painful feet! I had an SCS for years but it's efficacy dwindled over the years. I have asked for below knee amputation of my L leg! The pain is intolerable! A Neurosurgeon explanted the SCS, then, trialed and permanently implanted a DRG. After 2 weeks, I have about 80% relief from agonizing, shooting pain at night and some of the 'fire' sensation is relieved. This device is a great option to consider if you cannot stand living in literal agony.

My 17yr old daughter was implanted with the drg scs aug 2017, she has CRPS diagnosed in 2015 from an injury to her ankle. Absolutely the best decision made for her recovery! She is walking again thanks to this stimulator.

I have attempted suicide due to CRPS in my left foot, after 3 surgeries. I'm finally at a place of saying yes to the DRG Stimulator. I've passed the psych eval and today had the MRI of lower back prior to the trial. I'm hoping to have the trial done within the next few weeks. I've done alot of research, and I've seen many people say the trial worked, but once the real surgery was done, the relief was less or non-existent. There are MANY risks and complications to this surgery. I'm hoping for the best, but it's a scary thing.

I have tried 2 spinal cord stimulator trials (not DRG), one with a Medtronic device and one with a Boston Scientific device. Neither worked for me. I have had an L5/L5 microdiscectomy and an L4/L5 fusion. My pain is 5% in my back and 95% in my right leg; from thigh/hip down to big toe. It is a classic L4 pattern. Will DRG work for me? For those whom DRG has worked experienced any of the symptoms I have?

Pain medication taken away from us.Drug companies cannot make enough profit on pills.
This contraption is BIG MONEY KICKBACKS and FREE TRIPS for doctors. Beware,I know.
Studies were done on rats, not humans. This woman is a "salesman."

Actually the DRG was tested in Europe versus a Medtronic SCS in humans. The SCS is not for everyone and if considered only in combination with other therapies. Thanks for your caution.

Hehe....I was in medical device sales and what you say is true.
However, I sold a 125K laser that used an $800 fiber. Docs came in on. Sat. They spent from 0600-12 noon, hearing an MD lecture then work on a motel. Then they had to do 3 cases with an educator before signed off..
Fact is docs can take out prostate with a $12 loop and are trained how to do this in urology residency.
The only reason these docs spent time and their own money to buy the laser was because they thought it the best thing for their PATIENTS..
So; many bad things about medical tec to be sure. But also; many good docs and nurses too, who spend time money and effort delivering what they deem the best treatment for their patients
But often the data is faked. I saw it. Docs know what the companies want and they make numbers or estimates up to be added to data to be published.
It is NOT a true scientific discovery or methodology. I read competitor data that was 99%+ regarding results. Thats 99%+ B.S.! NO ONE gets 99%. That's crazy. But I saw it had been published.
The U S. is simply behind in pain treatment relative to other industrialized countries. We just see pain as something you "suck up" and in a good Prodestant, Calvanistic society PAIN is a virtue. And most people believe THEIR PAIN is THE WORST PAIN.
I am a former CRNA and have a masters in Physiology. And now I have CRPS. Id find it all fascinating but I HAVE CRPS.
And I'm going to trial this device.
