    Please can we see the fresh afang leaves or is there another name it’s called? Nice soup

    • @zabethfoodz1280
      @zabethfoodz1280  Рік тому

      Yes you should be able to find the fresh leaves depending on your location. The fresh leaves are readily available in almost all parts of Nigeria. But I don’t know about outside Nigeria. Here in port harcourt, it’s also called okazi leaf

    • @zabethfoodz1280
      @zabethfoodz1280  9 місяців тому

      If you are abroad or where you can not readily get Waterleaf you can use spinach as substitute but I can not guarantee that you will get the same taste as Waterleaf will give. But you can’t use ugu

    • @zabethfoodz1280
      @zabethfoodz1280  Рік тому

      Well some believe that if you stir it immediately you add it into the soup, it becomes slimy but truth it, sometimes I add my Waterleaf and stir immediately and I’m not sure I’ve noticed a slimy finish. But at the end of the day, it’s ur kitchen so there are no rules

    • @zabethfoodz1280
      @zabethfoodz1280  Рік тому +1

      Maybe you used editan leaf instead of afang. Editan is very bitter and needs to be washed before cooking with. It also looks like afang leaves when sliced so you can easily mistake one for another

    • @zabethfoodz1280
      @zabethfoodz1280  Рік тому +1

      Yes I properly washed my Waterleaf. Waterleaf tends to be slimy a bit so you need to properly wash it. Also Waterleaf contains a lot of water so while washing, make sure to squeeze out as much water as you can
