    The advice in this video is spot on! Especially the one about the importance of writing a solid personal statement. The KGSP scholarship is so competitive, but these tips can really make any applicant stand out. Thank you Professor Jun for always giving us extra nuggets of info to succeed~~♥️

    I'm currently a high-school student and I'll graduate in 2023 . Right now I'm focusing on academics and extracurricular activities that'd benefit me in future and preparing for gks prior as well but I'm still not specific about the major I should chose like some high-school students and so career minded and they know exactly what they want to do in future but most of us are diverted and fascinated by literally everything..I know what I I'll chose my career as but I don't know how to be specific about that in my SOP or why I want to chose it as my career

    • @DARITVKOREA
      @DARITVKOREA  2 роки тому +2

      Hello! Since you’re targeting the undergraduate level, I’m sure there are many candidates who don’t know exactly what they would like to do in terms of a future career. At the same time, I think the more specific you can get about your areas of interest and how you can tie this into your future aspirations, the more convincing you may be. I would also try to tie this potential career path with the curriculum. Wishing you all the best!

    Thank you Prof. Jun for this, it really helps a lot! I am planning to apply through embassy track for GKS but lately I am leaning more to apply through university track since Ewha is really the University I want to attend to. Just want to know how important is it to contact professors prior application and when is the best time for it? Thank you so much!

      I’m so glad you found the video helpful! I actually don’t know how helpful it is to contact professors beforehand (as most of the GKS students I know have not reached out prior to applying). You might want to check if the faculty actually teach/do research in the area that you’re interested in - though much of that information can be found on the website. If you do reach out to professors, the best time would probably be after new year’s (December is really hectic due to end-of-term grading, Christmas/holidays). Best wishes with your application! ^^

    It would be so helpful if you could help me with one question, I'm thinking about applying as an undergraduate student. My Korean skills are very, very basic, I know the scholarship offers Korean classes before actually studying, but I was wondering if you think it would be too hard for me to keep up the pace with all the courses in Korean if I'm applying for psychology or fine arts at ewha?

    • @DARITVKOREA

      Hello! If the program is run entirely in Korean, my suggestion would be to study in advance to the best extent possible (even if it’s not necessarily for the TOPIK exam). Whether it has an impact on your chances for selection, I’m not sure! But you may also want to reach out to the GKS program, university or GKS scholars directly for that. Best wishes!

      Hi! If you have specific questions about the program that can't be answered from the website or program brochure, then you should try to find the administrative office's contact information and ask the office first. Oftentimes faculty members may not be as familiar with administrative details. Other than that, I don't know if it's necessary (or helpful) to contact a professor directly. I know some candidates try to ask professors for advisory should they be accepted, but there's no legally-binding commitment and the chances that this has a material impact on your application is unclear (in fact, there are some who do not wish to be contacted unless they already know the candidate). I wish you all the best on your application & 화이팅! ^^

    hey professor, am from Uganda, planning to apply for GKS undergraduate program in September 2024. thanks for the video.
    i have an inquiry, i am done with my national diploma en graduated on march 27th 2024, but my institute issues graduation certificates after 2 years, i explained to the concerned body about this gks program and a graduation certificate being part of the requirements, and they said the best they can provide for me, is a letter approving that i graduated on that mentioned date, and they will also mention the reason as why they are not issuing certificates now. if i attach that letter to my transcript will it be approved as a graduation certificate?
    because i feel this is my opportunity so i want give in my whole.

    Thanks so much for the videos. Im thinking of doing my Master in Korea. So From your videos, if the GPA is lower than 3.0, it is impossible to apply for the GKS Scholarship, right? Thank you!

    • @DARITVKOREA
      @DARITVKOREA  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! You would have to check with the GKS program for specifics (I believe they calculate scores on a scale of 100, so I’m not sure how that would translate exactly to a 4.0 or 4.3 scale). Wishing you all the best! 🙏🏻

      @DARITVKOREA  2 роки тому +1

      Hello! I’ve seen many GKS scholars who switch majors as they enter graduate school. One important question you might want to consider is how this next move makes sense given your future career trajectory. I uploaded another set of GKS videos with Daniela and Cindy, and Cindy talked a little about her own experience coming from a linguistics background to majoring in International Business. She also has a YT channel and uploaded a very detailed video about the program and her experience (check out her channel: Cynramyun). I hope this helps! 🙏🏻

      Hi! I'm sure others have additional insights to give, but I think it may also depend on your major and what program you plan to apply to. It might be helpful to reach out to students enrolled in the program(s) you hope to apply or even the administrative office for some guidelines on application requirements. Best wishes!

    • @DARITVKOREA
      @DARITVKOREA  Рік тому

      Hi! You might have to reach out directly to the Law School about that and any additional qualifications they may have. If lectures are in Korean, they may require minimum language abilities (although I don't know if they would ask for a specific TOPIK score). Wishing you all the best! ^^

    Hello mam..I have a doubt I don't understand how to use GPA conversion table mentioned in GKS guideline. Like my university uses 10 GPA scale and in guideline 4,4.3,4.5 and 5 GPA scale is mentioned so can I use any of them to convert my GPA? And how can I use it?

    • @DARITVKOREA
      @DARITVKOREA  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! Have you tried contacting the GKS office directly? They might have a conversion table for your GPA (as many countries have different evaluation methods). It’s possible that other universities may also provide a conversation table (perhaps offices of international affairs). Let me know how the search goes!

      @@sarojkhatri4150 I see! You would still have to ask the GKS office for their official guidelines, as I am not affiliated with the program and cannot speak on their behalf. I think I read about 70%, but again, this really depends on the official guidelines and how this matches up with your country's evaluation system. Please do reach out to the program directly!
