The great thing about Ovi is that everyone knows where he is at and where he is going to shoot it and they still can't stop him. 90% of his goals come from that faceoff circle
Look at the 7th goal versus the Penguins; absolutely disgusting. it’s not a slap, wrist, or snapshot. He literally sweeps at the puck without winding up that much and it has the velocity of a slap shot. And because he got the shot off so quick in a weird motion look at the pucks trajectory… its slanted in the air but spinning perfectly. Even goalies around the league have said that his shots look like they curve at times.
My favorite ovi goals are when he goes into the net like a train and shoots through the defenders legs while they backpedal frantically. He blinds the goalie like that.It amazes me how he still puts the fear of god into elite defensemen when handling the puck.
