- A short video comparing the quality and flight differences between Gopro and Black Magic. Gopro is more agile and much smaller/safer for tight indoor maneuvers while the black magic has stunning lens flairs and higher dynamic range, especially in the dark.

I’m excited to do some komodo low light tests! Black magic is definitely strides ahead of Gopro but at a much higher costs. I think they are both great options depending on the shots needed and the client.
With good light conditions it´s hard to tell the difference, but low light shows which is the best one...
@@FPV-Drones the main difference when in good light can be seen blown up on a tv. Which for most people doesn’t matter unless It’s for a larger client. Lens flairs on the black magic are pretty though.
@@brandan_fpv i think the files of BM are so much better to manipulate in post ..
0:37 and 0:46 are not fair comparisons, as the BlackMagic shot was in much brighter light.

@@МаксимГранатов-з6нyes for slow ish stuff. Lepuffin can go about 30mph. Lepigion for faster stuff (7” that carries the same camera)

Yup! A lot of the work I do is in Chicago and the surrounding states. The casino is near Chicago as well. It’s the Temporary.
@@brandan_fpv That's dope man. Im michigan based but leave out of O'hare a lot. Crazy how unique Chicago's look is. I believe that was LaSalle street near the Federal Reserve.
What settings are you using on the bmpcc and how did you get it to stay in focus
I can’t remember exact setting but I think iso was 1250 1/48 shutter 24fps 4k dci braw 8:1. To keep it in focus just close your aperture and you get a longer depth of field.

What’re your settings for shooting GoPro in low light?
I can’t remember exactly but I normally stick with 24fps, 800 iso, and 1/48 shutter. Sometimes 1/24 but it gets blurry fast.
GoPro wins hands down because of the price (and durability, and size, and that it can go 30 feet+ below water). I'm very impressed at how good it is at the start with the dragon shots and low light. The average person wouldn't tell the difference. Nice video! Well done
I agree. In a lot of ways Gopro wins. However there are some cases where black magic could be preferred which is why I made this video. For clients who have the budget and want more I can offer it. Next up is komodo but again price, size, waterproofness etc.

BM really needs to release a small 4k box camera for drones.
Totally! Or Gopro needs to release a professional camera. Sony made the RXOII which is basically a Gopro with actual lenses and a log video color. But It’s only 8 bit color so It’s nowhere comparable to black magic.
@@brandan_fpv Yep, but 12 bit braw is great for all the weird lighting situations you get into with a drone. Being able to switch ISO in post is fantastic.
I wouldn't count on gopro releasing a professional camera, but BM has hinted at a box style a few times.
The micro 4k g2 Is now a thing at 300 grams its lighter than the naked black magic 4k

What's the point of comparing Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K for $1,300 vs GoPro Hero 11 Black for $400? It is expected that a professional product will be better than a travel camera.
It’s a comparison for clients. Weathers they want to spend more for a tour done with blackmagic or a Gopro.

The price for each is comparable. Just depends on the clients you are after. Gopro footage fetches $500-$1500 while black magic fetches $1500-$3000.

@@BOTGRINDER you should. I got mine 2 years ago and have been working my way up in productions. Just filmed my first Documentary in Costa Rica which almost paid for my new komodo setup! It’s crazy how much money is available to fpv pilots in the right market.
Honestly watching from my phone ....not a huge difference. Also would hate to fork out the money if my Blackmagic got smashed ! Lol 😂
It’s more noticeable if you are watching it in a dark room with your brightness up. This was also with basically no color grading. The more you grade the Gopro footage the more it will break apart. Black magic is more apealing for commercial work vs tours. They both have their use cases. I made the video to show clients the difference between the two.
Smashing a black magic isn’t too horrible compared to a Gopro. As long as you have insurance. I have smashed 2 already and It’s about $200 to replace with insurance.

Bro really compared gopro with BMCC
They are quite comparable. I’d even say GoPro beats the black magic 4K in some scenarios. I need to do some tests with comparing the 4K to the new studio 4K, and then comparing that to the black magic 6K or Komodo 6K.
