Too much work for almost no pay back. I will rerun the tailings and if no improvement then that is the last time up there.
Great video! I run v matting on the top plate of my gold cube instead of the slick plate, and over 90% will catch on the top half. I run v matting on the 2nd tray also.

Very nice set up. If you can keep your water flow like that in your sluice you will keep your fine gold. I guess you know that your Blue Bowl loses gold and to hand pan the tailings? looks like you are set for the summer. I hope it’s a very successful one for you.👍👍
Thanks, I tried a lot of variations in matt configuration and flow rate. I thought I was in a good location but so far not impressed. The mine I found tested good so I am looking forward to running that half bucket from the wall.

Yea, stream sluicing is hard as we don’t have very big gold, only very tiny flour. So it’s hard to get much from a stream even if you can move lots of material. I found I got more gold with Urban prospecting and it’s cheaper and easier to do and there is no end to the amount of material available.
You will probably get much more from working material like the mine wall and the dirt tailing piles around it. Prospectors old and new, leave a lot of gold in their tailings.

i got a keen 2 inch thats some 30 years old. its a standard clamp in riffle over the short carpet. I attatched a second sluice to it and never once ever got a speck of flour into the second box. recreational dredging in utah is pretty lame deal if you follow the rules and get a permit.

Super unsure about those mats for a dredge. You ever test for loss? I been debating on trying them but I just don't know.
I agree! Haven’t checked for loss, but I think it’s high in regard to flour gold.
