Fun trip. The dredging didn’t yield any gold but we did find some chalcopyrite and galena to crush and smelt.

First time using the new K&M Rock Crusher. I ran a batch of diorite but the gold and silver yield was almost none. #K&MRockCrusher #diorite #GoldCube #Smelt #RockCrusher #Cupel #TableTopKiln #CastMaster

I will be rerunning these tailings on a miller table. If still poor gold yield then I will be redesigning my sluice without these Gold Hog Matts. #GoldDredge #UtahGold #GoldHog

Coat your cube with rainx and you won’t have to use a tooth brush to remove air bubbles 👍

Right up near the Yankee Globe on the right side there is a spring coming out of one of the adits. Just to the left of the spring there is dark red weathered outcrop. Try some of that dark red material next time. That is a ROUGH road: hardcore Jeep only.

6 months ago was around the end of Feb and I guarantee you the Wasatch Mtns were covered in 6-8 ft of snow. . . How old is this video and where did you film it ? ?

The hike was last Summer but I didn’t get around to crushing the rocks until Fall then didn’t assemble the video until when I released it. Hope that helps.

my friend. I think that there was gold in the copper oxide. I tested in another way and besides copper, good gold was obtained. Your metals were collected in slag, and you must first heat the soil completely so that sulfate and carbonate are removed. Thank you. Hashem

Gorgeous country. You may have more gold in that than you think. Several people including myself, have tried using the Cube for the fine micro hard rock gold and found that it can’t catch it. I screen the material down to 100, 125 and 200 mesh and use “Hard Rock University’s fine gold panning technique to recover it. You can’t see the individual grains of gold with the naked eye but if you use his technique, you can tap the gold into a bunch you can see and snuffer it up. When I get about a gram, I smelt it into a button. You would be surprised at how much of that micro gold is all around us.

Another method is go to the channel ask Jeff Williams. Lookup gold retort and how you use a small ball mill or gem rock polisher from harbor freight. You put mercury in it with your fine gold and then you take the amalgam and heat it in the retort. I like it cause you catch all the mercury and you waste nothing. But the mbmmllc channel has a large shaker table. I have wondered if a large shaker table would catch super fine gold. I’d assume so since they’re pulverizing the material very small. I once heard the Spanish would put mercury on copper plates and it’d stick to it.

I remember Jeff Williams mentioned surface tension and jet dry cause gold can float. I wonder if using jet dry would make the gold cube more effective for super fine gold.

Not really. The port is a little small so I have to break the rocks down to get them in and avoid jamming. I love using it but haven’t had great success yet. It would so far have been far less expensive to simply pay for a assay of my samples. Fun hobby and learning.

Great video! I run v matting on the top plate of my gold cube instead of the slick plate, and over 90% will catch on the top half. I run v matting on the 2nd tray also.
