I bought this game even I had invested in Arkham and Eldritch. I also have Brimstone and I have to say: This game is really cool. I find it much more adventerous as Eldritch. But it is not as dark as Arkham is and it is not as cheesey as Fortune & Glory. But the narrative in Secrets is really cool. It is a really good dungeon crawl with lots of theme. People should check it out.
Hey Cody! Thanks very much for the candid review! We're really glad you had fun with the game! :) Next time you're at a Convention we're at, we would love to sit down and play some games! And LOL! We will keep "(Queen) Victoria's Secrets of the Lost Tomb (Torchwood Edition)" on the backburner for now! --Chris
Good review. I like it that you go into what you liked and what you didn't like. A lot of times, it's very helpful for gamers like me who might be considering whether to buy the game or not to know what are the good and bad of the game. I really hate it when I buy a game, and the game turns out to be not as good as the reviews hyped them up.
I had my eye on the 1st and 2nd editions of this game. Thematically it’s appealing to me. I really like this kind of game...but for some reason I just can’t pull the trigger and get it. As much as the game screams “BUY ME”, there’s something in the back of my mind that tells me I wouldn’t enjoy it. Thanks for the review - it didn’t convince me to buy the game, but I enjoyed the review.
I don't understand the "b" in tomb either except, maybe, Tom was already taken so...Thanks Cody for another informative review. This game may not be for me as I'm not musically inclined so not a fiddler. The fiddly bits and rule book...well...I'll look further. There are so many quality games today that our group probably has plenty of games to keep us busy.
+Drake Depew That it's derivative? Perhaps in some ways, but not merely as much as SotLT. I felt like there were mechanics in F&G that were fairly innovative- the adventure building mechanic, of course. But, like SotLT, F&G is fiddly, and Eldritch Horror did indeed kill it for me. See video: ua-cam.com/video/PoOGZi7jY7E/v-deo.html
at least F&G seemed more intuitive. I've watched the you-tubes about SotLT and it seems confusing, lots of stuff to remember, i think it could have been a bit more stream-lined like Dungeon Quest.
You're worth listening to for the puns alone. Nice job on the Batman thing...
Ha! Thanks!

+Christopher Batarlis Sounds like a plan. Thanks, Chris.
New edition??

Thanks for the balanced and clear review. Avoids the hype train but still positive for those that would like this type of game.
Happy to help. Thank you.

Happy to provide what insights I can.
You have the best intros, you should do a video with the best combined.
+Mister Rob Thanks. I generally don't save the raw footage of the reviews, however.
Oh well, was just a thought. Keep up the informative reviews and excellent humor!

+Steve Friedly Glad to help.
+Steve Friedly, "bomb" is pronounced "boom".
Hmm, Secrets of the lost tom...seems a little gay to me..lol
Not that there's anything wrong with that...
wow the board game graphics look so... 90s.
Hadn’t thought of that.
New edition comes out on Gamefound in October.
Is the migo going to drop an object when destroyed?😂
Ha!
Would you say the same thing about Fortune and Glory

You sir, are very funny :-)
Indeed. But looks aren't everything.
"I don't recognize Missouri". I'd include most of the Red (Government Of Putin loving) States as well.
We're here for games. Please check politics at the door.
