The Titanic's bow is actually pretty well preserved, especially deeper in the wreck. The stern, not so much. Britannic's bow is wrecked, but her stern is solid! I'd love to see footage of Britannic's interior to see if any of the wood - especially the Grand Staircase - is still intact in some way.
Pretty realistic but the crew didn't slow down the ship they actually put it on full power turning to the island a mile or two away hoping to beach it and unfortunately one lifeboat was destroyed buy one of the propellers.
How do you expect them to animate a solo lifeboat, and not only a solo lifeboat, but one getting cracked up and torn to pieces by a propeller. Of course its not historically accurate you dingus, its a game. God you aspergers people get so persistent with things you love...not that there's anything wrong with it, but people with aspergers get all bitchy with impossible orders.
The Olympic class ocean liners were powered by 2 vertical triple expansion reciprocating engines and a low pressure Person's steam turbine two 3 bladed propellers and 1x 4 bladed for the center propeller
Britannic never returned to an even keel, she was nearly on her side when her bow hit the bottom of the Aegean Sea. Her wreck, which lays 400 feet deep and does have divers occasionally at it, is almost perfectly preserved today, one reason being it is encrusted in coral which protects it
Britannic actually never became a passanger ship, she was being fitted out for service as a liner when the British Navy came in and seiged the liner. Converting her into a Hospital ship, she sank in 1916. So she sadly never had any passangers aboard her and was never fitted out with the furnishings designed for her.
On the actual wreck, divers went into the forward grand staircase and photographed the skylight and the broken peices of the dome which had collapsed. Some of the glass was still intact on the dome pieces. The steps long since disappeared leaving just the steel carriage that would have supported the steps and banisters. This was also seen on Titanic when Dr. Ballard first layed eyes on the ship in 1986. On Titanic when the water broke through the skylight and dome, the staircase was lifted out.
So, it's actually historically correct that you hit the bottom with the bow as you sank. The Britannic was longer that the water is deep where she is and the bow actually plowed into the ground. That's why the bow is snapped off from the force of the rest of the ship twisting as she hit the ground
Britannic fact. The front or bow of this ship touched the sea floor during the sinking making the bow break off and made the wreck go on its side. Most of the 30 deaths from the sinking was from a two early lifeboats and the propellers was still on soo they go grinded up even the people inside the lifeboats.
Yes, the propellers were nothing to joke about when people assumed it wasn't that bad. I heard even the paddle wheel on much older paddle steamers would tear people apart.
I do like that he shows off the ships and gives credit to the creators, but I do miss the old style of ship sinking survival that he did only on Tuesday because they did feel like there was no script and that Comodo was playing as a member of the crew.
The Britannic hitting the sea floor is actually accurate because the ship was so long the bow hit the sea floor causing it to break and lean more on It's side.
Fun fact that is cooler than the one from the diffrent guy: The Brittanic sunk close to Athens so if you have a boat you can just go there but it will still take some time
At 8.12am on 21st November 1916, while steaming in the Aegean Sea HMHS Britannic struck a mine and sadly sunk in only 55 minutes with the loss of 30 lives. In total, 1,035 people survived the sinking
Hey Camodo the Britannic sinking has many different theories on how it sank, one of them, other than the mine theory is that the coal dust that had accumulated exploded from an electrical discharge causing an explosion equal to dynamite.
Fun fact. There was a nurse on there that survived the titanic. She told everyone to take their coats off, put their life belts on and put their coats over the top. This is because if you end up in the water it would weigh you down. She forgot to do the same. Still survived.
Britannic continued to take on water through the portholes that were open to ventilate the hospital wards. The 883-foot ship is now listed on one side more than 100m (328 feet) underwater at the bottom of Aegean Sea, off the coast of Greece. So yes, It is still intact, to this day.
She also sunk faster because the captain kept going trying to beach the ship which pulled in more water through the hole in the hull as well as the portholes.
Well you know what they could say about the Olympic-class, right Camodo? "The price to ride the Olympic was your savings. The price to ride the Britannic was your health. The price to ride the Titanic was your life." Also, I don't believe you can fire the handheld flare gun or use hand held flares underwater (even though IRL they are), but I could be absolutely wrong. I thought that was the gimmick of them and that's why glowsticks were added to the game. They were the "underwater flare" so to say. Anyone is free to correct me on that as far as the game mechanic goes.
Camodo really shows why you should never dive at a wrecksite you down know. Especially big wrecks like ship wrecks can get very dark, tight and have a confusing layout. Unfortuanatly people tend to get overconfident with their skills, which has cause accidents in the past. Britannic herself had some really unforunate accidents in which a couple or really expierienced divers died. So if you ever want to start wreck diving please keep in mind to never underestimate a wreck, cause if you do you are just minutes away from death.
Ya that's what I was thinking. If I remember correctly they were nearing completion of the fitment of the interior as a passenger liner when the war broke out and she was recommissioned as a hospital ship. And if I remember correctly the ship sunk in like 18 minutes from the time it exploded
@Camodo Gaming they aren't sure if it was a mine or a torpedo that hit the Britannic but there are several thiroys to wha in hot just to let you know no one actually knows what made it sunk
Versing the Titanic was up in the morning after World War I so I can sing this for you up with labels and now it’s going wild now and that’s a different boat
If the Britannic stood up straight in where it sunk it would be out of water and rip to those who died on it but some people said that some individuals who jumped on a life boat went into it propeller while it was still going full speed or half speed
4:24 the sister ship Olympic was converted after the war, a little too fast so the camoufage was stil visible through the new paint scheme. If the Brittanic survived the war, she would probably have looked like that, but with a hospital scheme still visible through the new pain
Random fact-the reason why he only had three of 4 smokestacks rusted/painted was because white star lines royal mail ships titanic, Britannic, and Olympic had only three functional smokestacks, they added a 4th one for looks
There was land about 12 km in front of it and I could see it and the captain decided to try and see if he could get the ship to beach so he did not slow down the engines they only stop the engines right at the end before it went down but by that point was already too late to slow down
fun fact about the britannic the only reason the bow is split like it is was because it sank in shallow water. the bow hit the ground before the stern was even under.
Thanks camodo for checking it out, this will be a big help. Hoping soon to have a troopship version of the Olympic out, and a Lusitania!
👏

Oh neat I’ll be able to race our versions of the Lusitania
I would love to see that
Cool!

that is true, with the way they hit it they couldn't slow down then the speed of the ship was it's demise

Well, there were 2 lifeboats that got chopped up by the port propeller. Almost a 3rd but the propeller stopped just in time

It was a mine, a diver bought the wreckage from the British government and explored it finding mine fragments.
