Great video! I love how thoroughly you explain the game while not being so technical it’s lost on new players. I’m trying to get into solo rpg-ing and as someone who’s never played a single ttrpg, I find a lot of UA-cam play throughs seem to be aimed at people who have experience playing DnD or some other multiplayer ttrpg, but there’s not much aimed at absolute beginners really walking them through the process as first time players. I don’t know if you take requests but I’ve been really interested in playing Hostile Solo and would love to see a walk through of character creation and getting started in the game aimed at newer players. Again, great work. Looking forward to more.

I agree with what you say about other solo RPG video content - without much roleplaying background myself, I wasn't ready to jump into playing a 'regular rpg' like DnD solo, so naturally gravitate to these systems designed for solo play that offer a bit more structure. Hostile Solo. Hadn't heard of that. It looks awesome. Definitely gonna add it to my list but who knows if I'll ever get to it 🙂 Good shout though!
Great video! I picked up this game myself a few weeks back. Also I understand the struggle with a limited character sheet. A solo game called Miru (which I highly recommend to you; sci-fantasy) has a character sheet that I marked up with A BUNCH of extra stuff. Though, to be fair, it was not essential stuff like you are mentioning here. More quality of life things like tables and what not to reduce flipping. Once again, cheers for this. Love the content. PS. Btw, what did you use to make your custom sheet?

Yup - it's nice to have a decent way of recording all the info, means there is less to think about when playing. Unused Affinity Publisher, but that is probably overkill for the task 🙂

What a great looking little game! I can’t wait to see how it develops. Have you tried Colostle? It’s got a similar vibe and is brilliant fun and involves exploring a world spanning castle with rooms the size of countries. There’s some combat in it but it’s not the most important part.
You certainly can. The designer has brought out a 'simple character sheet', which you can get on the game's itch page. It is very similar to mine. If you want mine, feel free to email me - my email is in my About page here on UA-cam.
My one recommendation is to get to the play quicker, it’s very dry just going through the book page by page, much better to explain the rules as you go, just my opinion
Agreed! I made this playthrough quite early on in my UA-cam career - if you watch more recent playthrough videos I almost always get to play much quicker than this, and my preference is to explain most stuff as I play! To make things a little easier for this video, I've added timestamps and a link to part 2 in the description. I've also changed the title of this video so it it clear that this one is just setup and character creation. Cheers - appreciate your input!
