This is the best GMT model, black black black is classic and timeless, plus that green GMT hand and writing seal the deal.

Love the “nook, nook, nook” commentary. Im already invested in horology, but your narration is the cherry on top.

Hearing him say “nook, nook, nook, nook” is more satisfying than expected.

Just bought this model in May and that sound perfectly describes the bezel action😊

Such a solid watch, one for the strong silent type.

Should I trade my 2019 Black Submariner (I purchased from AD May 2019) for a used 2016 Black GMT...both with box and papers ...

Plus you’ll still have a warranty for another 2 years. I travel a lot and cant live without the true GMT complication with the quickset hour hand. I’d make the trade.

What was the last year of production on this watch? The black/black specifically.

The 116710LN (SS black&black ceramic bezel with the green GMT hand) was discontinued during the time of Baselworld 2019. Probably the last production was early 2019 or Rolex could have stopped producing this timepiece late 2018. Cheers!

Does this particular model have the laser etched crown on glass?

Love the GMT (especially my batman), but I think I would go for the sub if getting an all black bezel.
A note for would-be guyers. That clasp is a scratch magnet.

So are the polished center links. It's common compliant on all the GMTs.

Tim just bought this watch from an AD here in Atlanta. It's a G Code was a trade in and sent back to Rolex for a full service. It's box and papers now with the two year Rolex warranty. The watch is gorgeous must have been save queen or little used. My question. It's not running anywhere near -2+2 but is closer to +4. Should I just leave it be or ask them to adjust it. What would you do. Secondary question on the watch you just reviewed is it a big deal to get a clean case back for it if your buyer wanted to dump the stupid jeep reference.

It's very likely that the hairspring did get magnetized. It's very easy for it to happen. You can Google at-home steps to de-magnetize the watch or have Rolex service test it.

@@ChrisBoulas I'm under the impression from sites like this that the hair spring in this model is pretty antimagnetic. The watch also just came back from a full service at Rolex on the 26 of April and sold to me on the 7th of May. Can pretty much assure you that is not been near any heavy magnetic equipment. But thanks for the suggestion. Oh plus I think if it was a magnetic issue it would be running much faster than +4 second's a day. Maybe I didn't make that clear and you thought 4 minutes. Sorry my bad.

Did you take it in? If you’re like me, you’d get a perpetual nagging feeling every time you look at the watch until you send it back for service. How do you like the watch so far?
