Love that you hardness test the blades. By far the best and in depth reviews out there.
EXCELLENT review! Thanks! I especially liked that you included an HRC test.
Nice review, good to see Quiet Carry listened to the customer feedback and made the change to thumb studs. I was surprised you only took one HRC reading rather than 2 or 3 to average.
nice review man! I hope in future u come out with more videos...👍
Stoked about this one! I love the drift 🙌🏻
Thanks Jake! It’s really great.
What a review has pretty much everything just like the knife. 🙌
Man I love the look of this knife. It's near perfect. Kinda would like for a bit thicker of blade stock but that's just me. I like to see the thumb stud version. Had no idea they made it with thumb studs
Subscribed!!! I’m all in!!! Any chance you will review CKF EVO 2.0, CKF FIF20, CKF Chimera? I’ve been on a CKF kick as of late. Would love to see your view point.
Thanks for doing that Rockwell check. I've seen LC200n a lot harder, and at a lower price. Now I'm wondering will the blade's geometry and grind make it have good blade retention. I have the Spyderco Chef and Kyzer Drop Bear in LC 200N. I hope it has as good blade performance as those two, less expensive knives.
Great looking knife. I'll be watching for a restock.
They dropped the version shown here a couple of days ago. Managed to snag one. Love my waypoint so looking forward to getting the drift in hand.
Nice review.. titanium.. interesting!
Nice review. I’m curious what the RHC of the latest batch of Waypoints are. I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall another reviewer relating a conversation with Bryce who said the RHC was 60.
I haven’t tested a Waypoint. Quiet Carry said they were targeting 60 on these. Mine could be an edge case. Just a single data point.
Love this knife that I just received, but the jumping is perfect for my medium/large hands. It looks like you have very long fingers, so I suspect that is why jumping seems off for you. My fingers are short stumpy meaty fingers. LOL.
I’d love to know how you will anodize it, as I’d love to do it, too. Thank you for a great review.
Hi, why no more new video? Been waiting for your next knife review 👍👍
It would be interesting to see Rockwell testing on different parts of the blade. I'm not a metallurgist (and certainly not a knife maker), but my limited understanding is that different parts of the blade will be harder or softer. If the cutting part of the blade is 59, but the pivot area is 57, that would certainly offer a different data point. Either way, thanks for sharing!
That is not correct here. The whole blade is heat treated to the same hardness. It is true though that normally you hardness test a few times and take the average.
Went with the native 5 salt :)
Great thorough review partner! You picked the exact finish and scales i have...
One funny thing though... when you mentioned how sharp The Edge was, you missed a great opportunity to test on those doggone hairy ole forearms that could use a good weed whacking😂 no kidding those forearms would be great for testing hair- popping sharpness on..
Haha all the best man cheers!
Great review as always Wes. Totally agree - lovely looking knife, price just a bit too steep. Would love to try vanax at some point though! For now, very happy with lc200n
I really like LC200N as well. I’m looking forward to Spyderco converting all of their Salt line to it.
@@ThePocketPerspective waiting on a para3 LW in LC200N...wishing on a star 💫
Instant sellout.
You should check the waypoint :)
Peter’s heat treat I think.
Knurling or no knurling.... can't decide :(
Hesitating between this one and the waypoint. Also very surprised on the hardness testing... I was expecting more, Knifesteelnerds place Vanax at around 61 HRC
Got a waypoint several months ago and love it. Quiet Carry dropped the Drift this week and I was able to snag one, stonewashed blade with knurled ti show side. Can't wait to get it!
I live between a salt marsh and the ocean in the south eastern U.S. humidity is always 90+. So I know a thing or two about corrosion resistance. I like the look of Vanax, and it's resistance is top shelf. But the price for it is just too high considering LC200N is just as resistant. With a good heat treat the edge retention between the two is in favor of Vanax, but by a difference that makes no difference. In the waypoint I would want Vanax as the knife is more of an office or dressier carry. But the Drift is more for getting things done. As such the odd sheen one can see on LC200N is irrelevant.
Thanks for your take on it. Always good to hear from people that live in high humidity climates.
Hate when a knife I like the looks of, fails in the action department.
1. Magnacut
2. Cpm3v Delta
3. Vanax
Agree it’s too expensive. Period
It’s just too bad these things are made in Taiwan.
