For Palutenas final smash, it's a black hole with a giant laser to reference a common strategy in Kid Icarus's multi-player online mode which was using the black hole spell and then the laser spell after your opponent got stuck in the black hole. So I find the nod to that pretty cool. 18:16

There's a lot of care and references towards how the players themselves like to play the games. Steve, for instance, is rife with player strategies such as weaponising the fishing rod and lava bucket combo for PVP.
A lot of finals smashes have cool references. Bayonetta's has a little climax gauge on the part where Gomorrah attacks. If you mash A, it does increased damage.
I feel like not a lot of people talk about that, and it is a really cool feature

A cool thing about bayonetta's final smash is that if you mash the buttons during the climax, it does more damage. It's a canonical reference to the games

As a kingdom hearts fan, yeah, that's about it. Though in the game, the beam that unlocks things can be used to hurt people, Sora shoots the main villain of 2 in the chest with it. I assume they toned it down a little lmao

Fun fact: Olimar is the only character thats COMPLETELY vunerable after using his final smash. It puts you in special fall after and you can't do a thing. Not even tech!
Also Zelda's final smash is F*CKED on a normal stage. No joke, you can't get away from it and when you're at 100 it just straight up kills you. You don't get knocked back or anything. You just DIE
I think Ryu's shin shoryuken does the same thing too. It's just not really noticable

there's multiple final smashes that instantly kill you after 100, that's not the broken part, but what makes zeldas so bad is its by far the hardest to escape from. for others you just dont get hit with the initial hit but for zeldas it pulls you in and has incredible range
edit: it also does like 60% itself unlike the rest which are 40% at best so its even easier to get to 100%

Fun fact: Cloud has an alternate version of his final smash if you're using his alternate costume.

It's the same story with every echo fighter, except for Link's. Are Young and Toon Link still considered echo fighters?
@@stevenbart2375 At this point, I think the OG Link has deviated a bit from his original form, so I would say that at this point, Toon Link is an echo fighter of Young Link.
@@Keiji555They're not Echo Fighters according to the game. Those are Dark Samus, Daisy, Lucina, Chrom, Dark Pit, Ken, and Richter.

However, the OG Link has changed his moveset, akin to Luigi, so the classic playstyle of Link would fall onto Young Link, whereas, when Toon Link came in, he was an echo, and used Young Link's moveset.
As a technicality, Toon Link is still an Echo, whereas Young Link uses the original moveset.
And you don't have to tell me which ones are echoes. In fact, IMO, I don't think Chrom should be considered one, because he is too different from Roy to even be a clone, whereas, he is also not completely like Ike. He's a combo of the two.
Oh, and don't forget Dr. Mario. He's an echo, as is Pichu. And there's also Lucas, Ganondorf, Falco, Wolf...
Or they should be qualified as Echoes. After all, Dark Pit and Ken have more unique things, than some of the characters I just listed.
So when someone says "I would say", it doesn't mean officially. It means an opinion.
Regarding Sephiroth: in the original version of FFVII the Supernova spell he uses as his final smash had an animation that took about 2 minutes everytime he used it.

Pretty sure the animation for the Knights of the Round summon was even worse. Also perhaps the most obvious choice for an alternate final Smash for Cloud.

the cuphead and sans were the same final smash because they are the same character. Those are costumes for the Mii gunner. I don't know why they did costumes for gunner but not the other two mii fighters.... just thought i'd mention that
Because the Cuphead, Sans, and the unseen Shantae costume are memes due to them being slightly nicer costumes that come with songs.

2:22 Not really, for XBC2 your party consist of Drivers and their companions, Blades. With obviously here we get Pyra/Mythra as a 2 for 1 character instead of having Rex(XBC2’s protag). With the tldr for this double persona is because Pyra is the offshoot personality of Mythra, due to her past thus deriving her fire from Mythra’s light affinity.

7:20 that's the special ability super Sword, it's one of the enhanced versions of classic abilities, it comes from Return to Dreamland, and there's for example a version from dire Kirby (fire dragon) and hammer (giant hammer)
And here, it's especially what Kirby does if you use the super Sword to Land the final attack on the final boss
1:08, you Couldn't unlock him. Kazuya wasn't actually a part of Tekken 3's roster. It's the only Tekken game he wasn't in. Also, the final smash is a reference to the end of Tekken 7's story mode. 2:02, this attack is a Level 4 special in Xenoblade 2. The same for Pyra's final smash. Ryu has a second final smash called Shinku Hadoken. And... I think they missed Ken out at the time of me watching this for the first time. IDK. Anyway, Ken also has two final smashes, Shippu Jinraikyaku and Shinryuken. Cloud has Omnislash Ver.5 too, which is from Advent Children when the normal Omnislash doesn't work.

Inkling's Final Smash is one of the Special Weapons from Splatoon, the Killer Wail, which was a massive soundwave that didn't spread Ink(a thing important for Splatoon) but did do massive damage.

Palutena's Final Smash is a reference to an OP attack combo from the 3DS Kid Icarus game's PVP mode. I'm also sad you didn't get to see Omnislash Ver. 5, which was a secondary Final Smash added to Cloud when Sephiroth was added to the game. And lastly, speaking of Sephiroth, Sephiroth's Final Smash is a graphically updated, sped up version of his most powerful attack (Supernova) from his origin game, the cutscene for the attack was originally over a minute long, and was able to one shot your entire team if you weren't careful.
Yep, Incineroars final smash is just its exclusive Z-Move but a bit more flashy. Kinda wild to think that the last Pokémon that was added to Smash is from a 7 year old game now.
I do like Fire Emblem but never realize just how many of them have the “critical hit” as a final smash.
Pichu was broken because it was almost impossible to hit him. So it didn't matter if he took damage since your opponent was never going to be able send him flying. They eventually nerfed him by giving him bigger hit boxes.
Pichu was really good at the start of smash ultimate but got nerfed sadly his big brother Pikachu is still as good as he always was
But he is still nerfed from the start of Ultimate. Cause well you know Melee Pichu was insane.

Cuphead and Sans aren't actually playable characters. They're just skins.
You can play as your Mii in Smash by making it it's own fighter, with three types; Gunner, Brawler and Swordfighter.
Cuphead and Sans are DLC outfits for Gunner.
Also I got no idea why Brawler's final smash is more high quality than a lot of the other final smashes.
