Enjoyed your video thanks. Im booked for December 12 nights p/c ocean view but wonder if you advise how I man best secure a room closest to the ocean/beach? Don’t have correct email contact details for the resort and my UK based t/a (BA Holidays) usually get assigned the worst located rooms). Also, do you know if the swimming pools are warm? Thanks
Sounds like you need a new TA. The preferred club rooms are the ones that are closest to the ocean. I would ask your TA to reach out, that is their job. Just remember a request is a request. When you have great relationships with the resort, it dies hemp though! If you want to be right next to the beach or ocean you should upgrade to a prefer club room.
@@StraightAwayTravel Options from rural Scotland are limited, plus, the TA does not/did not have ocean front rooms in their allocation so wasn’t an option to book other than p/club ocean view. I will make the request (plus pay any supplement if applicable as not looking for freebies) via Secrets directly if only I knew who best to contact.
Great video you guys. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem wirh me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S
I am SO sorry I didn't see this!! I am on my way home from Secrets Tides. THIS resort is VERY knee friendly. It is gorgeous and I saw all of the room categories. I just made videos of the rooms and resorts for you. Let us help get you there, just message us. :)
We enjoy a good glass of wine with our dinner. We've been to 2 other Secrets resorts and their house wine is horrible! We then had to order off the menu, which ended up costing us an arm and a leg. How are the house wines here?
Do you typically do preferred club? I am flying home from Secrets Tides and the wine was outstanding. Especially at Portofino. They were both Spanish wines and I didn't write it down but I can find out for you!!
@StraightAwayTravel We did not book preferred at CapCana and Puerto Vallarta, but all their house wines tasted like vinegar. Many of the guests at both resorts complained about the house wines. After paying a decent amount of money to stay at these resorts, you'd like to enjoy a quality glass of the house wine with dinner. This resort looks amazing, but we were wondering if this was a Secrets Resort "thing" with a low quality house wine.
Thank you for replacing the audio with a talk track! Very helpful!
You are welcome, it needed to be done for sure :)
Thanks from Germany :)
Nice review. Very helpful. I am going there this month.
Do you know what building number that was at 14:05 in the video? And is that a preferred building?
I believe that is building 2 and yes to preferred club and right by the preferred pool

Does this resort have a gym?
They do. That was in phase two and I believe it is open, I can ask the resort for pics!
Isla is pronounced eye la, not iz la 😉
I thought that at first as well, but ees-la is how it's pronounced by the locals. Eye-la is Americanized.
All locals say it as we do on the video. and boy is it a beautiful island!
I would pronounce it ease law
were all the restaurants and pools open?
Everything is scheduled to be fully running by July! Almost everything was open during this visit.
