Liz' Story

Retired Nurse from Australia, Liz, became interested in Oncology in the very early days of radio therapy. When taking a break on to the UK, Liz met her late seafarer husband, Alan. Here, she shares her story including having children, despite believing they couldn't, tragically losing friends during the Falkland's War, transitioning from oncology to geriatric nursing, giving up her career to care for her husband full time towards the end of his life and the impact that the Royal Alfred Seafarers Society had on her family.
