Ive seen alot of comments having this problem, are you on mobile? if you are then you need to try to tap the corners of the numbers (for some reason) but if it doesn't work then i really don't know why :/
u don't u actually just need to trigger snowfall I think AFTER u find his reindeer Chomiks(I think if u trigger snowfall before helping him it won't work)

For the candy cane there is an easy way without the flick. You could use the front part for the cane and just spam jump until you reach the truss.
