The upper is camel leather :) not calf. The soles are calf leather. :D I was really surprised when my SA told me that it was camel leather when I made my first purchase on the babouche :>>

i live in tokyo and i was exploring this small antique/vintage joint in this place called gakugeidai, the store owner had these tabis and he swore on them to be the most comfortable slipper. He also wore them collapsed which I hadn't seen till then.
The tabi doesn't fit my style personally but it's one of the few timeless pieces of fashion that won't bleed into over-worn mainstream fashion. In my eyes, the tabi rests on a slippery slope of being unique but not too unique to the point of overbearing flamboyance

Loooove the babouche style! You should put vibram soles on your Tabis to prevent the holes. I get them put on mine as soon as I got them x

I did what they said and had the soles covered with a clear vibram coating. They look invisible it’s so nice. Def try on your next pair 😉

I'm like you: I'm an inter-sizer, which means I'm either a 41 or a 42 in brands. If a shoe is a 41.5 it's a definite fit! What I've done now is learn my UK and more specifically my JP conversions (26.5) to always select the best size when buying online.
