Fantastico 👍🎶👍 I love Steve Miller. ❤ 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Why are people bitching about the rap part? The dude had a sick flow and had a positive message.
I personally like it without the rap, but if it works for Steve, it works for me.
Jaime, you are completely right. Great song and very good rapping part. I love'd the lyrics.
💯People have such fixed ideas. Duke Ellington once said there are only two kinds of music - good and the other one. For me if it is musical and they have skill, it's good. Here it differs from the original and it was well done. I like jazz so I don't want every performance to sound exactly how it sounded on the radio 50 years ago. Reminds me of the comment section of The Consouls jazz covers of Persona 5 music - one of which was Price - cleverly done in 7/4 (original tune in 4) - 'The music sounds really off compared to the original tracks'. I think the person didn't realise it was jazz. 🤦♀

Why is anyone upset at a reworking of ANY song? The original was already recorded, so no, NO ONE f'ed the song up. I like to add different flavors to cover songs in my band, Barcode, paying homage to the originals... Go to my channel and check our take on this one.....
In this song Steve Miller brilliantly plays his Stratocaster way past the Stratosphere and on to the moon. Amazing! What a great blending of the hip hop sound to this. I love all kinds of music and the combination in this song pushes it all the way to Mars & Jupiter. I hear the lyrics so let's all accept each other as Americans so we can all fly RIGHT into the future. I got this on my grocery list for dinner. Let's Fly Free Forever! Ok?
I love the song and liked it also with the RAP part, because it gave the song a new and beautiful meaning! Be tolerant and Steve wanted it that way so this is the artists work!
One of the truly great rock songs!
Why not just accept the fact that Steve Miller knows what mixes well and integrates new things into classics
I also want to fly like an eagle, with this song in the background!
I see the connection.
Fly Like An Eagle...Space Jam...Basketball...African Americans...Rap.
Hell yeah :D thats the best version ⚡⚡⚡
I love this song🤗💋
oh ya!!! love this band for many years
Steve you have been the best artist forever i have seen you play every instrument in concert but that rap o hell no you fucked up on that one damn
THE LYRICS!!!! Those that have EARS let them hear!
Reading these comments saddens me. Everyone is talking about how rap is bad, negative, this and that...but this guys rap was nothing but positive. Did you even listen to what he was saying??? Kinda ignorant that you call out an entire genre of music, as if all rappers talk about the same things....if you really think that, then you are definitely being fooled by the media
💯
The songs message is spot on.
Sounds so much better than my old 8track in my 55 Chevy so many years ago..
I want to fly like an Eagle too, my friends! Great Band! Steve Miler is very good!
Anyone else see Russel Crowe? :)
Great very great number with a fantastic rapper, keep on going.
Thought that was Jerry Springer then I was like oh it's just Russell Crowe
that was dope
Nos vemos en Salt
KILLED IT FOR ME TOO....
I just won tickets and backstage passes to see Steve Miller band tomorrow night here in Myrtle Beach at the houseof Blues!
Dug the hip hop, nice flow and sweet message!
Bravo for Steve Miller for continuing to be fearless...
Sheeeeeeeez Manetti...... (rolls eyes....) ...
...playing that drum groove with two hands is considered criminal in some circles...all in the wrists...
Listen Up 2024
Fly like a beagle.......
@footyclub1 When I saw this (sans rapper) on Austin City Limits, it was the drummer who stood out for me too.
Regarding the rapper here, people should relax, one verse (changing it up on a particular night) doesn't ruin a song, just makes it different.
Great Song!
Kudos to Steve Miller & the Rap Artist! A Great Combination!
this songs so sick i love it
@jcodom1991
It's a marketing strategy..a way of forging old with new.(not that i agree with it)
Very seldom does this work. Seal did a version of this song which sort of paved the way to what we have here.
'The Neville Brothers' also did a version but kept it very Blues based.
But for the full picture you might have to take this up with Steve's management.
Personaly I like the rap part...why just do the same stuff why not do some thing diff?....That's what seperates musicians from the rest...my mate hates the rap part in Rush's roll the bones...I love it...always try new things and experiment....Because some people can like rock and rap and then pop and dance and metal and reggea and soul and funk and latin and jazz and classical and arabic and oriental and ska and country.....thats cos music really is there life!
so this is where the sound of daft punk’s RAM comes from…)
@ ezt123dp They were just trying to keep the song appealing to the newer generation. don't worry though, judging by the newer concert vids the rap is no longer in the song
i like it
Tell me your Joshing plese tell me your Joshing!
Well, as much as rap isn't my thing either you have to understand this had to be part of Steve Miller's plan. Can't blame the rapper for it but maybe some of you on here are expressing other repressed sentiments. Miller's idea was to obviously bring the song into the 21st century and show that the message is still the same.
Does it work for me? Not really because i'm a child of the 60s/70s and woud rather hear Steve's guitar work.
But i can't blame Steve for updating it.
omg what the fuck!!!!!!!!!
I miss the voice Steve Miller had 30 years ago.
@fenderman396 If he is on stage with Steve Miller I would say it's okay
mmmmmmm.....I somewhat see your beef,''Fenderdude".......not a fan of Intense heavy Rap,per se.....but I totally credit rappers that make the creative effort to blend the two styles
good question....could have done with out that.
ROTFL!!!
Russel Crowe on vocals and guitar LOL
@jcodom1991
In this instance, it isn't the country that's doing it.
Don't become paranoid here. I'm not a rap fan either, infact i detest it along with the present music scene but
do you honestly think the rapper just appeared onstage and FORCED himself onto the audience without Steve Miller's consent?
No, it's black people talking about money and cars, with bass and snare layered over it.
I was like wtf was that...
WTF NOooooooooooooooooooo!!!
lol
This is the futures where there is rap version
Anybody else think of bugs bunny playing basket ball
I should eliminate my last comment because you are right: SEAL IS NOT THE AUTHOR.
I just liked more the cover version by HIM.
SORRY, I WAS AN IGNORANT. >_
Seal does it better.
The solution is Ron Paul!
Rap - - gone!!
Maybe it wasn't the greatest idea, but I honestly think rap sounds better with a guitar and drumset behind it. I can at least stand it then. I mean it sure helps that it's Steve Miller...
I'm afraid to picture David Gilmour or Steve Howe with a rapper in front. That might just be a little too, um, frightening. Nevertheless, this song could have turned out much worse.
What on earth?
No? What is it then water?....
Michael Jordan 🏀
Um who the fuck is that
Now I see why a few people have told me how bad he sucked in concert. I'll stick with my 8 track memories. 😄
"Sucked in concert"... That's moronic.

Think you are like talking about only chart stuff MAYBE? funny you say black people cos the most famous rapper to day (alive) still is white boy Eminem!....I have a rap song...I'm white (NOT THAT IT MATTERS!)...thats like saying rock bands only sing about love and heart ache....and like rock there are different styles and sub genres of rap, one (being me) should also add!
was great till they added Rap/hip hop! just killed the song!
You have to remember that rock and roll derived from the blues, so did rap music, but the rap segment was not necessary.
WTF rap to Fly Like an Eagle?????????
The eagle crashed 2:45.
Y'all act like some random guy ran up on the stage Kanye style and stole the mic. Grow up.
Rap is poetry that should be written and put into books or written on bathroom walls... which ever is most appropriate for the material. But not put into something like this. It destroyed the mood, vibe and direction of the song. It made me stop the video and write this comment and then go to a different version. Steve Miller, please don't do this anymore. It will destroy a loyal fan base.
WTF was that? I would demand a refund
There are certain things you should leave alone. They are best when they were created...as they were created. This has nearly ruined one of my favorite songs.
You cannot make this a puff daddy hit. Trying to is like modonna singing Skynyrd.
Sounds autotuned.
Ok, if you are going to rap get humm..lil wayne? Lupe Fiasco, shees. im offended just a little. I get the rap part though makes sense, lets expand and experiement bravo man. But wow.
Makes me sick. This generation fucking ruins everything.
Hurts me to thumb down Steve Miller over some horrible noise after almost 3 minutes of amazing.
*sigh* another one of my iconic bands from my childhood gets overcome by age and modern pop corruption. I stopped watching when the black guy started to...fuck, I dunno what to call it. I am out. Good bye Steve Miller band. I will listen to my '74-'78 greatest hits and remember...
2:30 on the tune got ruined , I thot , damn they upped the tempo it sounds good then baldy gets yappin on a mic and destroys the tune :(
SAD SAD SAD, he must of had a "JOKER" moment...I'm sorry I'm lost for words, think I'll go throw up now....
Well that screwed the song up what the hell were they thinking!!!!!
I agree. Steve Miller is a rock and roll guy. He hates rappers music
I HATE IT when it is felt necessary to 'rap-i-fy' classic songs...it TOTALLY RUINED it for me.
Stevie Baby !!!! what the hell were you thinking??? You take a beautiful etheric song and taint it with rap??! whos's next..the moody blues, alabama, America? Please don't experiment with that again ...If I liked rap... I'd listen to rap artists.....although it's not my thing.
that was ridiculous ... desperate ... borderline used car commercial - shame because otherwise the band can still bang out the classics ...
The rap part f*cked the song up.
This was cool up until the hip-hop...
Another Rapscallian...
Yeah, I tuned out when the rap started. Sorry, it just blew.
Ummmmm.... NO!!!! No no no no no no rap on this song, ESPECIALLY not horrible ones like lil wayne. Come on man
WTF??? Rapper = FAIL.
This is just as bad as lil wayne touring with blink-182 it doesn't mix. No bueno kinda ruined the song for me such a beautiful masterpiece ruined in just 5 minutes.
lol whats this??? lol i cant get over it rap? with steve miller band and not even good rap and im 17 lol xD
The rap sucked.
whats up with this sweating rapper? FAIL!
RAP? WTF, Steve WTF???? Bad move, NO-LIKE
AuctionBump Shut up
I DON´T LIKE THAT BLACKY FUNKY SHIT !!
I think that this song could be good with a rapper, the beat is good for that, but this guy is just awful
