This comment is pretty long so here's the tl;dr version: This weapon is really fun, and it just so happens to be my favourite weapon. Sadly this weapon is in a terrible spot in splatoon 3 at the moment. Most of the maps lack flank routes. This weapon dosen't have a lethal throwable sub (curling bomb hardly qualifies as a bomb, it's really a utility sub) in either kit, and speaking of kits, both kits are just worse versions of the splatana wiper's kits. Here's the full version: Sploosh is a pretty fun weapon to use overall, I'm a sploosh main myself really. Sadly, it pains me to say that this is one of the worst weapons to use in Splatoon 3. While it's no problem to use in solo q or casual, for top level splatoon like I talking the competitive scene, however, this weapon dosen't stand a chance. As such, You'll never see this weapon ever get played in tournaments. (Disclaimer: I don't play competitive splatoon so my opinions and claims may differ) There are at least 3 reasons as to why this weapon is just terrible in splatoon 3: 1. The maps in this game suck for this weapon (they also suck in general though) due to a lack of flank routes, this weapon was pretty much designed for flanking so for like for 95% of the maps in this game, this weapon like most short ranged weapons weren't desinged for them. The only way to rectify this situation would be to give sploosh a throwable bomb, but this sadly leads to my second point. 2. The kits for this weapon are below average at best and abomidable at worst. Unlike sploosh's contemporaries, this weapon wasn't gifted a lethal sub that can be thrown at longer range, Instead it has curling bomb (which is really a utility sub in disguise and a pretty pathetic one at that considering fizzy bomb exist) and beakons (which makes zero sense of a short range weapon). As for it's speacials, ultra stamp while a great fit for sploosh is on the low end of the meta in spltoon 3. And killer 5.1 wouldn't be so bad on sploosh if it weren't for the atrocious synergy between beakons and the sploosh and to add insult to injury the beakon-wail syngery is also rubbish, there's a goof in this game where if you super jump with an active wail it causes the wail to freeze yet it's duration keeps ticking so you get nothing out of that speacial. But the point is that this weapon has no lethal bomb that it can use to poke with no use at a long distance. last but not least, 3. The splatana wiper exist. That weapon pretty much outclasses sploosh in every way. It has the same damage as sploosh but has more range and has two kits that are just better versions of the sploosh's kits while also having better synergy, the vanilla kit has torpedo, which is a lethal sub that would've worked wonders for sploosh and the deco kit is the neo kit but with missiles which is top tier. So yeah, overall this weapon just dosen't get the same love nor attention as it's top tier splash brother or any other short range shooter. It's shame that once again us sploosh mains have to wait another year just for the sploosh 7 and maybe then they'll give it splat bomb, but it's no gaurenteed. As for now, my best recommendation for how to get good with sploosh is to just use wiper instead.
I have like 3 main weapons with the sploosh being one of them. I mostly just use the sploosh if I want to just have fun. If stamp was a better special, then yeah, it'd be great for the sploosh. However, I don't really like wail on it. Wail, at long distances, is very easy to avoid and is a bit more "reliable" when you're actively fighting someone (as they'll be a bit overwhelmed dodging both you and the wail). Though the sploosh is so fast at killing, wail just becomes kind of useless at close range. And curling bomb is such a stupid sub for the weapon because you can literally ink the ground and swim just as fast. Though, I have gotten pretty good using curling bombs to splat people. Beacon is just a very useless sub in 3, imo. Like, no one jumps to them and most of the time I have a teammate in a good jump position. I just want an actual bomb for the sploosh, so many times I've been in a position where it would have been great if I could have thrown a bomb
@@maddyterrell0 Like I said, it's a shame that we will have to wait for the third sploosh kit to come in clutch with splat bomb, but that won't come out for another year at least. And there's no guarantee that it will be splat bomb, they may screw it up and give it point sensor instead. Not to mention the special might be something like tacticooler, inkstorm, or reef slider instead of something like Kraken, inkjet, zipcaster or Trizooka. It's times like these when I feel that there needs to be a better system for kits rather than restricting them to specific combos that can't be swapped out. Maybe it's time they let make kits customizable to some extent. If they're scared of the game being broken that way, then maybe they can just ban certain subs and specials from being usable for each weapon.
@VGF80 Agreed. I would love a sploosh kit with a more aggressive special and a bomb for the sub. I'd be happy with either suction or splat bombs. I love to play sploosh either aggressively and fast or sneakily. With its current kits, it feels like there's no way to really be of use. A sub to help break into enemy lines and a special to help with its lack of range. But, I will say that the sploosh can be super satisfying to get a kill with. I had a game where in 5 seconds I got 3 splats: 2 of them were accidental and just a huge series of unfortunate events. Trying to splat one guy (who was using stick controls and their aim was just atrocious), another came out of nowhere trying to sneak around to get my teammate (without looking where they were going, so they just ran straight into my ink bullets haha), and the last one was a brush that was super jumping in and managed to splat me as I splatted them. Legit had no idea what had just happened I'm those couple of seconds because it was just complete madness haha
Lol i use Sploosh, Big Swig, and Blablobb. I picked up sploosh from splat1, blablobb in 2, and big swig in 3. I just so happened to pick some of the rattiest weapons, lol
