Zeenat Aman was every man's dream girl. Unfortunately, her choice of men left a lot to be desired. One such man was Sanjay Khan, who was married with three children, when he fell in love with Zeenat Aman on the sets of their film Abdullah.
An story in Cine Blitz dating back to 1980 details how Sanjay beat Zeenat black and blue at a five-star hotel in Mumbai, in the presence of several onlookers who did not lift a finger to help her.
It all started when Zeenat was shooting in Lonavala. Sanjay called her up from Mumbai and angrily demanded that she leave everything and reshoot a portion of a song in Abdullah that had already been shot. When she reasoned that she had already given her dates to another film, he accused her of being sexually involved with the makers.
An exasperated Zeenat left straight for his house, where she was told that he was attending a party at the Taj. She reached the hotel to discuss her dates, at which point the "atmosphere suddenly turned cold and menacing". An inebriated Sanjay asked her why she had come to the hotel, while his wife Zarine sneered.
Zeenat, who had to return to Lonavala, wished to settle her dates with him without making a scene. Little did she know what would happen next. Apparently, Sanjay took her to the adjoining room and "let loose his animal wrath". He beat her up, lifting by her hair and continuing to thrash her every time she fell.
All the guests knew what was happening, yet no one helped her. It was the steward who came to Zeenat's rescue, who by now had blood and tears streaming down her face. Even as she required eight days of medical attention to recover from this beating, she did not report Sanjay to the police, as she was still in love with him.
Her doctor revealed to the publication, "This is not the first time this man has beaten her. Once before she was given a black eye and kicked in the ribs so hard that I insisted on an X-Ray for fear of a crack."
Not just the love of her life, he was her husband. The two had wed in Jaisalmer in 1978, a marriage which lasted less than a year. Many had warned Zeenat but she defended him fiercely: "I love this man. Don't you understand? I will back his every move and I will make him a king one day."

If only world was so straight forward , Tippu Sultan was also the biggest hit of his career and he made loads of money ,mostly because of the sympathy he garnered due to his resilience and comeback after that fire accident . He was almost bankrupt in making Tippu sultan after its success he made crores and bought massive land parcels around outskirts of bangalore and grew even richer.
Nobody can get freedom from Karma. Due to his barabarism, Sanjay Khan (Shah Abbas Ali Khan Tanoli) got punishment in the sets of Tipu Sultan. Khan suffered major burns and had to spend 13 months in hospital and undergo 73 surgeries.

I have met Zeenat ji personally in the year 2012. She is such a down to earth women. My uncles driver went to pick her up as she was attending our store opening event. She was simplicity with class. I’m so sad and angry every-time I hear about this incident. I wish I was old enough that time to protect her from this abuse. How can people walk Scott free in India after doing such a disgusting act is something I fail to understand.

Actually during this incident - (SK) Sanjay Khan's wife - Zarine Khan (ZK) also had slapped Zeenat (ZA) many times.
Also she's a victim of domestic abuse by her late cricketer husband - Mazhar Khan.

1) Zeenat's mom had first married a German man named "Mr. Heinz". He's the biological father of Zeenat - so she is "Zeenat Heinz". That makes her half German - She has German genes in her DNA!
2) Not sure about - what happened to Mr Heinz later, but Zeenat's mom re- married a Mr. Amaan from the film industry & this is how Zeenat Heinz became "Zeenat Amaan".
3) She (Zeenat) completed her graduation from a well-known college.
4) After winning her "Miss Asia-Pacific" title, she was heading to California for her Masters degree.
5) Dev Anand (DA) discovered her & convinced/ requested her to join films.
6) Initially she refused but later did 2-3 films - all of which flopped.
7) She told (DA) "I am going to California now - no more films fr me"!
8) DA persisted and insisted her to stay back & promised a definite next hit film.
9) That film was "Hare Rama Hare Krishna" - after which (Z) never looked back. No more California dreams!
