SEPHORA COLLECTION SINGLE EYE SHADOWS. I want to say they fall somewhere between "drug store" and high end at $10 a pop. I especially love the way the glitter finish shadows wear and there is NO fallout which is HUGE! I may still love glitter but that doesn't mean I want to look like I got smacked in the face with a pixie! 😆💖
I love that you were inspired by a real person's look versus a filtered photo.
I understand that people don't like filters nowadays, but Zabrena just saw a nice woman on the streets in a random encounter and liked her look. That's it.
I personally love my photoshop and glam looks only achievable online. It takes my face and makeup to a new level that I ADORE! There's nothing wrong with it. ❤
@@Zhao328 True but for UA-camrs showing cosmetic tips, it's best if they don't use a filter. We're wanting to see what the cosmetics REALLY looks like in RL, not through a filter online.

My favorite drug store foundation is the Wet and Wild luminous. It is MUCH better than high end - wonderful coverage and never cakey.
Better than high end: Wet n Wild photo focus loose powder, Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick and Essence blushes.
Love that red on you! Having the perfect shade of red is the like having the perfect little black dress with the right heels.
I learned recently that a lot of drugstore cosmetics are fabricated in the same labs as high end one. When you see products made in Italy and Germany from drugstore, then you know it is good wuality. Some essence products are fabricated in Germany, and they are very good quality. For mascaras, brows, lip liners and some blushes it is not necessary to spend on high end prices. Keep your money to spend on good quality eyeshadows. Milani are good products they are manufactured in Italy.
also have you noticed that anything from italy be it a highlighter or shadows are always 36 months shelf life!!!! 8so like denona maybe its not so expensive if they last years...
Same factories but not along same receipes/ingrédients ! Factories work under contract for the make-up brands.
The same factories make for several different brands. But they have different quality ingredients. That’s why it’s often more affordable. Some brands are under the same umbrella as high end brands and they just use less high quality ingredients to make similar products. But it doesn’t make them the same just because they’re made in the same place unfortunately.
@@celinescrappassion2184 I’ve followed marlena for years, when she first launched makeup geek. I’ve also been in the beauty industry for over 25 years and know a fair bit about this. Whilst I agree some can have the same ingredients as their high end counterparts, it’s quite difficult to find this. Some have very close ingredients and people think they’re the same because of this. However, the first 6 ingredients are the most concentrated ingredients in any formulation-be in food, makeup, drink, skincare etc. that said, the particular ingredient matters, some are the same ingredient but of lower quality than others. So although they’re very similar or even sometimes near identical, if the ingredients are not the same quality and percentage, the products won’t be the same. It’s also easily possible to make two near on identical products and use similar ingredients but still different, but get an almost identical product in texture, look and finish. Manufacturing makeup and skincare is a difficult process, but what bothers me so much is that the likes of E.L.F, L’Oréal, maybelline etc, (even though some are under the same umbrella as other high end brands) can make some of the closest, high quality products available and they work as good, if not better in some cases as their high end counterparts and they’re not even a half the cost sometimes! Even when using sometimes better quality ingredients. Which goes to show the mark up on things just because of a brand name!! That pi**es me off!! It is all about the brand name itself, you more often than not are paying for the brand name! 😠

I wanted a mascara that was less harsh then black, and I bought Maybelline Lash Sensational in burgundy brown. It's gorgeous! More know truly than brown, but not as harsh as black. Strongly recommend.
That liquid lip seems equivalent to Fenty MVP.
My favourite drugstore products for a natural look:
- Covergirl CG Smoothers BB Cream and concealer
- Covergirl CG Smoothers powder (it’s very lightweight)
- Covergirl 3 in 1 professional mascara
- Maybelline great lash
- elf brow pencil (the one used in this video)
- essence 6-pan eyeshadow palettes (I have the green, the blue, and the purple ones)
- Covergirl simply ageless lipstick
- Maybelline lifter glosses
- essence long wear eyeliner pencils
I’ve tried a lot of Sephora products and these are just as nice, if not better than luxury.

Rimmel is in a class all it’s own. The lip liners and foundations I will reach for time and again. And the price is between Essence and Covergirl. Such value for the quality ❤

I know you're more of a nude lip kind of gal, but red lips look GORGEOUS on you. They go perfectly with your beautiful red hair, and they make your eyes POP.
It makes me happy how far drugstore as come. Most liquid lipsticks are good and I only buy from high end if it's a color I need
I decided to only buy affordable products a few years ago, and it took me a while to find a foundation product. I finally tried the Wet n Wild Tinted Moisturizer, and haven't looked back. It looks so pretty on my skin! I turned 60 this year, and I used a little of this product, some blush, eyebrow pencil and some mascara, and took selfies. I sent them to my family, and everyone raved about my skin!! It works! (I also use the NYX Bare With Me concealer and the Elf Halo Glow powder!)
I love Wet N Wild products! Will have to try their tinted moisturizer for my middle -aged skin!

Most K-Beauty BB creams/foundations feel so much more luxurious than the formulas we have in the west. I will never stop buying the Purito BB cream that's under $10. Same goes for Korean SPF products.
BB cream yes ! but for SPF, I don't know if Korean SPF products are adapted for type I skin (blond/redhead peeps) or even sunny america. I live in Canada where we have a lot of sun in spring/summer and we are a couple of people who burned with the beauty of joseon sunscreen, even if we putted it 3 x a day.
@@ambradeluna I normally use Missha all around sunblock and so far it works fine in NC weather.
Korean skincare and BB cushions saved my skin!! I would hide acne with western foundations, tinted creams, and SPF with skin tint drops mixed in or just plain old concealer - and my skin never liked it. :(
When I tried a BB cushion from Korea I fell asleep in it (accidentally!) and my skin had two new acne spots. That was the only damage!
Korea is holding out on the USA 😂 The K-products I've tried feel like they have a magic code to them! USA could learn some new stuff from Korean products that go on your face in some way, shape or form

Be careful and read the label on all Asian face products. Majority of them have skin lightening chemicals in them since that is desired by the majority of their Asian customers. When the BB cream first hit, we were all looking at Asian cosmetics, but we checked the labels and I decided to wait until American brands carried them, since they wouldn't have that extra ingredient. I'm happy with my Covergirl BB cream which totally matches my skin color.

I use all drugstore so I really can't comment on items that are better than high-end because I just have never used anything like that.
But a few of my favorite items are Neutrogena Hydro-Boost foundation, PF Butter Bronzer, Milani blushes, Elf eyeshadow quads, to name a few.

I purchased the Full Fan Effect mascara because I love that style of brush I had used a Rimmel one that was discontinued so I was so glad the find that one and it's now my staple.
Nothing beats a red lip- classic! 💕

I would never waste my money on high-end mascara, eyeliners, or lip pencils. I do have several I have to admit, but I have much more of drugstore.
I watched video from Marlene, who was the owner of Makeup geek..
She talked about how mascara and liners are made at the same factories in other countries …
She said most liners are made at a factory in Germany.. she encourage viewers to simply read the pencils. She says if they’re from Germany, the quality is just as good as the high-end liners that I made in Germany….
Sure enough, my Charlotte Tillberry, By Terry, Hourglass, Milani and NYX are all made in Germany. The Milani eyeliner pencil is the longest wearing for my waterline any other liners… it’s the best.

Zabrena, love that pretty red lipstick on you. One of my favorite types of make up to wear is Wet n Wild's Break up proof waterproof eyeliner. I like how it defines the eyes and is waterproof so it won't run down my face.

Hi! That red is gorgeous. Drugstore makeup that still beats high end for me is CG Lashblast waterproof mascara for freezing my curl bedore layering others on. Catrice foundations. Essence blushes. Catrice highlighter. Wet N Wild liquid liner pens/ulta classic felt tip. Maybelline matte & vinyl inks.
i have a l'oreal liquid lipstick that outlasts any high end one i got - the color is stunning, lasts even through greasy meals, the applicator is very well designed and formula is smooth and lightweight. i literally put it in the morning and it will last all day without any touch ups until i use makeup removing oil in the evening.

Drugstore makeup has come a looong way since I was a teenager. I am in my 70s and my go to foundation is Revlon's Colorstay. I always enjoy your Drugstore Fridays.
One of my all time fav foundations if I want a fuller coverage is the covergirl pan foundation that comes in a compact and is a cream. It was one of my first foundations as a teen (I won't say how long ago that was) but still love it if i am going full glam. I also adore the elf eye primer.
