one feature of those bottom screws you forgot, was, that for these 'field' cameras, to use WIDE lenses, 90 mm and less, commonly 65/55 mm lenses you need to shift the rear standard to the front, and add the front standard to the front hole, this gives the wide field of view, without showing the camera bed in the shot; PS: Linhof Technikas/Toyo 45X, and others, use the 'drop bed' design, 15 degrees for 90/75 mm and 30 degrees for the ultra wides (65/50/45mm); you also have to tilt the front standard backward to get parallell again!! this allows a clear shot.
Very informative presentation, Nico. Thank you. 👌
Thank you, thank you! Now I can lock my rear standard to vertical! I never noticed those little sliders at the bottom!
They are hard to see! Glad it helped
Same. I shot like 200 sheets on this camera without ever noticing these. Now I feel embarrassed
I absolutely love my F2! Looking forward to your review on that one.
Me too. Just received it from China and it’s a beauty. Very well made and lite
Gorgeous camera, Nico.
Thanks! you gonna make me want to get another 4X5..... Damn you Nico!!
Never enough cameras!
Hi, thanks for a good video as usual. Do you recommend this for a 4x5 beginner?
It is a fantastic camera, nice if you want to jump straight to a very solid field camera, skipping the typical Intrepid step :)
100% recommended it. You wont miss a thing using it for years.
wondering if it will take a 70mm? I had to modify my intrepid to get the 70mm to work. And yes great video, I am lusting :)
Thank you Nico!! Very informative. I'm planning to go 4x5 maybe in the coming months, so researching now.
How would you compare the Chamonix here to a comparable Shen Hao 4x5?
I have the SH 6x17 dedicated MF view camera and so far, have been quite impressed with it....but man this Chamonix looks awesome and if you had an opinion on that vs the Shen Hao similar offerings, I'd be very interested to hear them.
Thank you,
CC
Great video. Its possible to buy it inside EU? Thanks
Yes no issue with that. Jobo distributes them here or you can order from Chamonix directly but you will have to pay import fees and VAT yourself and you would have to ship it to HK for warranty work with this option
@@alchemistalchemist6051 Thank you. On jobo site I only found the H1 or F2, maybe I'm wrong
@@rjleal it probably depends which ones are available at the moment, as they are made in small-ish batches. I believe that you can sign up for the next batches with Chamonix directly, and probably with Jobo?
@@alchemistalchemist6051 I will contact Jobo. Thank you
I like everything but the price :\
It is actually cheap for what it offers and the quality you are getting with this camera. They could easily charge a bit more and it will still be a very good deal.

Depends on your financial situation. ;)
Is is built as good as an Ebony or no?
