Super fun reaction! I loved the discussion at the end. I wanted answer two specific questions: The fans name is 'atiny" which = ateez + destiny. and that's how you pronouce it by combined words. The chilli reference I guess has 3 layers 1) chilli is hot = they are making spicy fiery music 2) it is referencing their lore implied in the mv that chilli pepper wakes up your emotions and makes you feel alive so they are distributing hot chilli pepper and telling the dystopia world they are in to awake and feel emotions 3) i guess some pride that its korean chilli pepper like I think Korea does love their spicy dishes and the choreo references how they cut the korean peppers. my personal favorite from this era ("The World" era) is Halazia! but they also have amazing music reflecting different themes if you explore different eras

Both are my two favorite MVs by Ateez. The undercover police (Yunho and Jongho) are helping from the inside. The bikers (Seonghwa and Yeosang) are running a chili pepper delivery service (Blue Bird Delivery) which is actually a front for passing messages/intel and ammunition. The cowboy assassins (Mingi and Hongjoong) are on the forefront. Mingi (in the bar) was approached from behind (see the reflection in his glass) which is what prompted him to go all John Wick on them. Hongjoong snipes the Guardian which you can see the bullet going to right before the last dance break. Who??? Guardian? In multiple Ateez videos, you’ll see a person dressed in white wearing a mask with silver chains over the front. That is a ‘guardian’ that keep order in Strictland and was first seen in the title track Answer MV over 3 years ago. He’s been tailing them, but not anymore. Why chili peppers??? The chili peppers theme was an idea they had so they could incorporate some Korean culture into their lore/performances. Cheongyang chilli peppers are a Korean chili pepper. It all started with normal looking chili pepper advertisement flags outside a venue where they were having a concert, but on closer inspection there was a QR code that went to the Ateez/Anarchy symbol formed in chili peppers. Then, driving around Seoul were humble little produce trucks advertising hot chili peppers w/ Ateez's voices playing over a speaker advertising Cheongyang Chili Pepper Delivery. Chili peppers were used everywhere even up until the MAMA Awards 2023 show last week where they had a ‘cinematic performance’ of Bouncy and Crazy Form. If you decide to watch it, it is the 10 minute version. MNET is not reactor friendly though so you’ll have to watch it on your own or cloak it. Atiny is part of the movement??? Ateez is really cool in that they include us in their underground movement. They do things like airdrops spoilers or messages to fans. They also hide things in plain sight for us to figure out on our own… like for no reason one of the members pretended to eat a hamburger, another wore a jacket with a hamburger on it, then another did a live where they didn’t say anything, they just ate a hamburger meal and left. A few days later, fans found an Ateez symbol in a small hamburger restaurant in Seoul that was hiding a QR code that led to a snippet of their upcoming title track Crazy Form. Another, was before a Bouncy came out, there was the giant art piece outside a concert venue as people with the Wanted signs and the members’ outlines, only for it to be destroyed and covered in Ateez flags as people were leaving on concert day 2. The Wanted posters started appearing in places with a QR code that lead to a snippet of what would be Bouncy. There are tons of examples, so Atiny are always on the look out for any usual dance moves, hand gestures, or weird sentences. It is a ton of fun to see all the theories and clues being put together. Or even watching older Idol Radio episodes (Hongjoong and Yunho are hosts of Idol Radio) after a comeback only to see clues that were missed (Yunho is awful about spoiling new choreo on the down low).
Ateez is MIND Blowing and their genres are EXTREMELY versatile. They sing like Motown check out mist, lights, be with you, it’s you, take me home… they have 1980s wave vibe as well fireworks… All rap like Matz and leaders…very versatile!
If you want to see them go crazy, you need to watch their recent MAMA Cinematic Stage. There's an intro with some of their storyline. Then they perform Bounct and Crazy Form (Mnet content generally needs an overlay to avoid being blocked). I recommend Guerrilla and Halazia next since they're from this same series (The World).
