What do you recommend if you have received a machine with a broken oil filter. It is literally severed from the top of the pil pump from the bolt. Is this replaceable or is it an easy fix? Note:this is a brand new machine and I'm waiting on response from the seller as I recieved in this condition.
If it is the filter that sits on top of the pump, it costs around $20-25 for the part (oil & gas separator) looks like it would be easy to replace. Is the bolt sheared off? Hard to give you a good answer without seeing it. Hopefully the seller will make it right.
I think they will last longer and this particular vac master can be serviced or rebuilt as needed. It may not be easy to fix the maintenance free ones.
Oil compressor are the original, and shouldn’t be replaced with the new “oil-free compressors”. Your oil compressor may be a little oilier, dirtier, and may have to change oil every or other year, but will last 50+ years

Short answer it’s a vey good machine. I haven’t had any problems with mine. I did buy it used. Like any machine it needs to be maintained and there are parts that will need to be replaced. Bar tape, silicone seals, & possibly the pump. I haven’t had any problems so far
They say after 60 hours of use but you can also go by the color. When it starts to darken would be a good time as well. It depends on how much you are using it as well. If you use it a ton I’d go by the 60 hours otherwise maybe change it once a year. There is no down side to changing it out prior to the 60 hour mark.

That was what the manufacturer recommended but I think you could use any light vacuum pump oil

How often do you have to change the oil?
The manufacturer says about every 60 hours of use or when the oil in the sight glass becomes dark.
How much oil does it take to fill it up?
It takes about 2-3 ounces
How do you discard the used oil?
I took it along with some motor oil to a auto parts store but there is very little from the oil change

ARY Vacmaster told me to change it every three months if I’m using on a regular basis.

Lubriplate light vacuum oil is the brand recommendation from the manufacturer but you can use any light vacuum pump oil # L0944-054
This is a vacuum pump not an oil pump
