Hi, I'm Steve, nonda's lead mechanic engineer. Feel free to leave your comments here if you have any mechanic questions, I will be glad to help you out!
Hi Steve! I saw your post and offer to help. My car cant stay in good acceleration (while idle, it goes up and down..lets say from 500rpm to 800rpm) and it even car turns off sometimes. I ran scan and shows P0106. I took it to Hyundai and they did a "reset" of the codes and told me it was ready to pick up. When i went to get it, it again came back to the same problem, so back to the shop. I dont want to be ripped off, what should I be aware of? Would it need to have MAP replaced? etc Thanks!
Hey how’s it going, I got a 2013 VW Passat, I had this error code about 1 month back. Replaced the map sensor and drove it until I got the engine light back on with the same code. What else could be the issue and how do I fix it?
I just got the p0106 error code on my 2016 hyundai sonata 2.4l SE after completely removing the throttle body without disconnecting the two water lines and cleaning it and also doing an intake valve cleaning after reinstalling throttle body and air intake. Could it possibly be the map sensor on the throttle body that got damaged? Car has 112424 miles on it
Might be, but there are variety of possible causes of this code. To determine the right solution and avoid amplifying the problem, we suggest to have it checked by a mechanic to pinpoint the issue's exact underlying cause.
Hi David, you can replace the defective/bad MAP sensor. Also, check if there's a crack on the vacuum lines and intake hoses. If the issue will still persist after replacing the sensor, please have it inspected by your local mechanic for further diagnosis.
Hi Jesus, kindly check the MAP Sensor for damage/cracks as there might be a leak in your vacuum intake lines. Ensure that the MAP sensor's voltage output is in the correct range. Also, clean the throttle body.
I have Jetta 2010 2.5 lt and l scanner said code p0016 and p0122 p0106 p0221 they said is timing belt and pedal sensor they said they put the map sensor already so what l can do the the car is now in the mechanic they said l orden the belt you think is that please help
Hi Antonio, if the voltage has been checked and the throttle position sensor has been replaced or found no issue with them then probably yes. As these codes are interrelated and usually a replacement for the timing belt could fix it. Hope it helps, and please let us know the outcome.

I did this and the code came back saying the same thing don’t know what to do
I have the same issue
Damn I'd never thought of just replacing the sensor the code says is bad..

@@nondainc just shoot some carb cleaner around and if it chokes, you found a vacuum leak but the sensor maf sensor is new
I got a p0106 code on my Infiniti 2010 g37x it said the manifold absolute pressure/ barometric pressure circuit range/ performance, will this fix it ?

Did you ever fix it?
Jesus did you fix it? I have a 2012 M37X and am having the same exact MAP sensor issue. Doesn’t appear to effect engine performance but wtf…
@@jayrad998 you ever get it figured out? Same car but 2011
@@imnottayoutuber5082 Hi, lol , mine is 2011 G37, same error code. Have you fixed it in this way ?

Thanks you so much
Probably a vacuum leak.
Thanks
I have a 08 dts and the p0106 came up on my car and I went today and bought the map sensor but it's doing the same thing
Hello, try cleaning/replacing the PCV valve to see if the issue will still persist. Hope it helps and please do let us know the outcome.
Check your throttle body. And check your intake hoses for cracks.
What if I don't have a map sensor on my car
