  • Ideally, the truth and love are indistinguishably bound together. One of the problems of our lives is that the truth and love are often divided. Too often people speak the truth with harshness and criticism, or give empty compliments out of a sense of obligation. But what if there was a way to speak the truth while still being kind? To say something difficult without causing hurt feelings? That’s where speaking the truth with love comes into play. Dr. Henry Cloud explores why it is important to speak the truth with love and how you can start doing it today.

Knowing how to speak the truth in love is so valuable in fostering healthy relationships. Knowing that you are actually doing it while engaging with an unhealthy or disordered individual is also crucial for maintaining your mental health. Great clip, thank you!

    ‭Psalms 141:5 TPT‬
[5] When one of your godly ones corrects me or one of your faithful ones rebukes me, I will accept it like an honor I cannot refuse. It will be as healing medicine that I swallow without an offended heart. Even if they are mistaken, I will continue to pray.

I recall times people have corrected me in love, that I didn't feel offended at all.
I also think of the Bible verse about not being easily provoked on angered. If we are so sensitive to what others say that we become agitated, we need to evaluate ourselves. I myself have been told I'm too blunt. I pray I will learn to speak truth in love.

5:22 - love EVERYTHING you're saying right now.
Yes. Yes. And Thank you Yes.
6:09 - the Whole Video... yes.

From my understanding religion essentially means our response to God relationally. So proper religion equals proper relationship/worship to God.

This content is so good. Going through the 12-steps program for codependency (PPG) now and every Dr. Cloud says is spot on.

Our justification is based on faith, and faith alone.

I’ve dealt with enough confrontational criticism from my siblings to last a few life times. Whatever they think is wrong with me, there’s a good chance it’s 10 times worse.
But, when people (whoever they maybe) treat you like you’re their enemy, every time they attempt to confront you, I would think that kind of behavior would be a classic example of why we need boundaries. So, that’s a bit confusing to me.

Okay okay, you illegally used surveillance for eight years and the law is coming, but then -is what your saying Truth and Love is real?…or are you gaslighting me by this? Is truth and love really real? Could you ask Andy?

Was considering reading the book but in the first two minutes when you’re focusing on mythical figures in a fable as your example, you lose me.
