I wasn't surprised. I think it was either a market test or they saw success and thought they could make more money on shorter dolls.
I never ever doubted that the Rainbow High was inspired by the Poopsie dolls. When I saw RH I just thought...aw, they made them smaller :)

I'm thinking about getting them, but using glitter or beads to decorate the outfits instead.
The hair of these dolls is exceptionally high quality.
Personally I prefer the RH dolls because of the articulation, size proportions, inset eyes, lashes, stands and lack of vinyl in their fashion 😂 but I loved these when these came out, though I will never at that price I much prefer the skintones they game us. Blue Sky's skin tone on Skyler would be perfection. Honestly I just really adore darker skinned dolls with colourful hair, they're my favourite.

I have Skyler Bradshaw and yeah, her hair has a ton of gel in it, but I managed to brush it out and lemme just tell you, her hair is SOOOOOO SOFT!
Nice I typically have to wash all of my daughters dolls with hair she hates when they have product in them 😂
How did you do it :0 did you wash it or literally just brushed it? And did you use a specific brush?
I washed it out with dish soap really quickly
@@milandeli1521 I used the brush she came with, but some of the chunks were harder to get, so I used my fingers for those.

I have pixie rose in the updated packaging. I also have one from the old packaging. I didn't use the slime either. It was a weird concept to me. I wish pixie rose came with the pink shoes rainbow dream is wearing.
This comparison reminds me of the My Pretty Pony and My Little Pony G1 first line compareson. Since MPP was basically larger ponies then Hasbro was on to something and shrank them down to be smaller and they turned into the highly successful MLP line we know and love.

That is false, the dolls you're talking about are different characters than these.
I just love watching you ranting and enjoy your videos so often and even rewatched a few videos I've seen already.
Plus, watching your videos helps me when I'm feeling depressed about missing my dog that I had to put down last Christmas.

This wasn't actually a surprise to me at all. I saw them and went oh, okay.
I almost bought Skye SEVERAL times because I loved her hair but couldn't justify $50 on her and was waiting for her to clearance LOL
Sykler is so beautiful but I can't help wishing she was as dark as her larger counterpart - and ditto for Violet - but I truly hope the next wave is a LOOOOOOOOOT better about varying the skintones.
I love love love the tat sleeves! Would love if they made RH dolls with tats and/ or sold separate high quality tat decals for the existing RH dolls

@@v4mpxre maybe pixie rose will be the fushia pink in the next wave of rainbow high dolls. Also i think that if they release bella she would be more of a pastel pink.

Kind of seems like the same idea just for younger or older kids.
When I first saw skyler in the rainbow high lineup I immediately thought "Hey it's that girl from poopsie rainbow surprise!"
Rainbow Dream is available on her own at toys r us Canada (yes we still have ours) so I'd imagine you'll see her popping up soon.
I found her on eBay the price wasn’t bad at all, she’s in the same packaging as the others too.

Rainbow Dream is also the name of the band that rainbow high dolls Lyric Lucas, Vanessa Tempo, and Carmen Major play in.
16:47 violet has that exact outfit in the show. You can see here that the Amethyst doll has a darker clothing color palette in the jacket (same make, but violet's is a much light shade).
In the show, violet's shirt and skirt combo are a similar color to her jacket, but in the same design as the 16" doll's
Rainbow is available packed in the display box too. Saw tons of her just like yesterady in my local shops (I live in Europe). She is my favorite!

I made the mistake of putting the slime in one of mine too. After that, I stopped....I felt like I ruined my outfit.

I was lucky enough to randomly find Rainbow Dream in good condition at a thrift store. I got her for 75. No joke. She was just thrown on a messy shelf .

I just got Rainbow Dream today and she is gorgeous!!! But mine had quite a few flaws-- smelled chemical-like, tattooed arms were strangely sticky, and her underwear smudged badly. The paint wiped away when I cleaned her off to get rid of the weird scent. I'm not that mad--her hair and face were fine (she did have sticky glue on her brow I had to clean as well), but at that price point, it has to be better. I'm just easy to please because her hair is pretty and I don't get myself many dolls 🤷♀️ but honestly it's hard to swallow how much MGA charges for their lack of quality control. As someone who grew up with Bratz it is a huge bummer.
My local Walmart has Rainbow Dream in the non - blind packaging, and I've been tempted to splurge on her a few times, but I also want to get the rainbow high dolls at some point and that's a lot of money.
I'm new here, this is your first vid that I watch, but I have to say you won me right in the first seconds, with "doesn't matter how old you get, you never need to grow up". Just how I always felt! xD About the dolls, they are so fabulous, and omg that rainbow hair ♡♡♡ I didn't know those dolls, thanks lots for your great review and comparison, and for sharing those beauties with us ^^

My Walmarts have had only the Rainbow 🌈 in this package for a couple months. I got the rest on Amazon. I love that they did this.
The hair looks more vibrant and her lips look fuller than before. I bought her blind box. Mine has pretty good rooting. Very little shedding. I put a yellow extension in.
If they re-release are the same, heres my notes:
1. Rainbow also has roller skates but dont be fooled by the picture. She doesnt have those earrings. And the rainbow hair is all in the back of the head, almost hidden.
2. Blue has the prettiest eyes and hair. Cool out fit but along with Pink and Rainbow that jacket is terrible getting their hands through.
3. Purple also has tattoo sleeves like Rainbow and a vest instead of jacket, much easier. Hate the bangs but once ripped out cant even tell they were there. Outfit is a tie with blue as coolest.
4. Pink is the least striking but no plain jane. She didnt wow me like the others but still a gorgeous doll.
Theyre great and huge. Very big. A barbie dress becomes a shirt. Ha!

Love these Rainbow Surprise dolls 😍💖🌈 I still have to get these dolls, pity that Rainbow Dream didn't get released in the new packaging, she would be my favourite and has some awesome rainbow hair and cool outfit. They are all beautiful and can definitely see the Rainbow High dolls were inspired by these dolls, and totally agree I wouldn't want to put goo in there clothes. Can't wait to get them. Love them all 😍💖🌈

rainbow high (and Shadow High even more) turned in the best doll line for now, but rainbow surprise wasn't bad, compared to Mattel dolls in that age

This makes me so frustrated! I would've adored a Violet doll with dark skin as it's my favorite color. I'm incredibly disappointed by the decision to lighten her skin. I really hope we get a lavender, periwinkle or even baby blue RH doll with dark skin. (My collection is focused on ethnic dolls).
Rainbow Dream is also available, I just saw her in the new packaging on ebay.

I just realised how beautiful these dolls are im glad they are in single packaging now I just ordered rainbow dream and I already have pixie and skye i would of never brought them blind boxed. I'm not bothered by the slime though.

Instead of the slime maybe kids could use small beads (those for nail art may be small enough?) or glitter do put into shoes and the clothes? They would be really easy to change the look and not that complicated to clean afterwards?

It’s kinda of weird how MGA re relased these dolls but with out the surprise element of not knowing which doll you will get. I always felt like these rainbow surprise dolls were always going to be their own seperate line from poopsie slime surprise.
I saw these on amazon when I went looking for rainbow high doll collection and I'm like wait aren't they just rebranding poopsie slime surprise as rainbow high? So it confused me

My daughter of course loves to make the slime but it is so messy 😂🤦🏻♀️ I love the dolls though the jumbo ones, RH fashion dolls, and fantasy friends. My daughter just has 5 more of series 2 to open for Halloween then our collection is complete 🎉👍❤️🤗🌈🧚♀️. I got super lucky to find 2 full boxes of 9 at Target. My daughter loves the Rainbow Hair 1 we have Amethyst & Pixie so far.

I wish they would have made violet and skyler darker. They are too light. The bigger dolls complexion is so pretty.
Was just at my local Walmart in Ontario, Canada and they had both versions of the blind dolls on clearance from $79.97 marked down to $59.97

If you rinse it out with water and soap (dish soap, conditioner, or shampoo) it makes it SOOOO soft REALLY quickly

I love 16 inch dolls, but at nearly $60, the no articulation or inset eyes was a bit of a deal breaker. It was just a little frustrating, since it seemed like MGA did everything they could to make an attempt at a 16 inch play doll line in America tank.
