Love your content as always. Just came to say that Clothes Mentor and Plato's are not consignment stores. They are buy sell trade stores. Consignment takes items from you for free and gives you a percentage after they sell, typically about 40% of the sale price. BST stores buy from you upfront and give you less. Also many consignment stores are mid tier or higher end, so they'd be less likely to take Target and Old Navy. Just a point of clarification!
Our Clothes Mentor is so, so picky. Like brand-new North Face and a newer Kate Spade bag were passed on, but they purchased an older pair of Target New Day shoes and an older Ann Taylor blouse. I worked at Clothes Mentor for a year, it’s just a crapshoot on going in on a day that a good buyer is working.
It is weird what the buy sell trade stores take. I took a tote of clothing to Plato’s and they took a handful of items. Took the leftovers to a different Plato’s and they bought almost all of them. Different locations buy different items. They know their clientele. Just keep trying.😊
I'm glad they took some of your items and you were able to get some cash for them. I'm always amazed when I see people who sell to Plato's, and Plato's wants crap clothes like Shein. So weird!
I totally laughed out loud at your comment about how Bermuda shorts look on you. They are literally the WORST thing I could ever possibly put on my body type too
Clothes Mentor likes mature brands and bigger sizes. They take most of plus size items I take there, Plato's closet is very picky in my area, i like to take men's items to them.
I tried to sell mystery boxes in the past but nobody ever bought them 😂 I have considered starting to sell on other platforms, but I honestly put a lot of time into other things, so I just really need to do some serious thinking about how I’m going to move forward with my business honestly
Thanks for another great video. So organized with the check marks and Xs! I was shocked about a few of the pieces they did not take. I’m always interested in seeing what these stores take. Like you said, it helps to have zero expectations.🫣

Wow they took a lot from you! I go to the one by my house and they only took a few things from me.

@@CottagevilleCozies I will be honest I made that comment when you were on a role with the shoes. At least you broke your goal!

Do you sell mystery boxes in your poshmark closet? Do you sell on any other platforms?
