Speaking of: since you have dry skin, you should try mixing the Maestro Glow with the Luminous Silk ;) Also, there is a white Maestro Glow, so if you get your summer shade in Luminous, you can customise the depth and use it all year round :)
Girl did you already do a video on tinted moisturizers and BB creams? I love your reviews! I'm considering buying one because I've been blessed with great skin but I still want something on and Foundation is just too much for me.
I just ordered the luminous silk foundation after watching your video. I've had it in my shopping bag for a while now but finally bit the bullet and ordered it! Can't wait to try it out!!
I would love to see a comparison of Bobbi Brown's stick foundation and Hourglass's stick foundation (and maybe MUFE as well). Bobbi Brown has my ideal shade (Porcelain) and that's hard to find, so I'm on my 4th or 5th stick, but I see so many raves on the Hourglass product that I'm curious if Hourglass makes a shade for my pale, yellow-based skin. Blanc is light enough but too pink. Thank you. I'm a recent subscriber but have been watching your videos almost obsessively because our skin type is very similar.
My favorite foundations are from the French brand Bourjois. I have very dry and sensitive skin bit without a lot of imperfections, maybe a few bumps on my chin but that's it and i love the Healthy Mix foundation (and the Healthy Mix Serum foundation) because they are so lightweight and refreshing and luminous and they don't emphasize anything. They also last all day without priming or setting with powder so they are my holy grail.
That product was horribly dry and oddly textured on my mostly dry (mixed in the T-zone) skin. Weird. It made me look like a corpse with cheap drugstore makeup on. It Cosmetics CC did the same thing to my face. No bueno, nao bom, no thank you.
I love this type of video, could u do a drugstore version? Like which one is worth trying and which one is not? I have combination skin and I have not try most of the foundations u have mentioned here such as Tom Ford, La Mer, Giorgio Armani, and Estée Edit. Which of the worth splurging foundations u mentioned is good for combination skin that u think I should try? Would love your recommendations 😃👍
The Hourglass Vanish stick is my favorite foundation of all time!!! The finish looks so amazing on my skin (not too dry or too dewy in any place, which is rare to find with combo skin) and I always get so many compliments because it makes my skin look FLAWLESS
If you have the time could you possibly edit the description box to include your shade in the foundations? I believe it would be very helpful for people finding shades to match them. Thank you Jamie 💕
Hey Jamie! Our skin types are very similar - I have dry, slightly sensitive skin as well. I have the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation and I find it a little drying as well, but I've discovered that using it with the cover fx custom infusion drops (the radiance ones) is like a match made in heaven. I usually do 3 full droppers of the foundation and 2 small drops of the infusion drops and it pretty much maintains that medium to full coverage, but you get this lovely glow to your skin and I haven't ever felt oily wearing this combo. There's a little sample sized 13 dollar (canadian) combo pack of the infusion drops and illuminating primer at sephora right now and it's SO worth the money. I'd try that to get some more use out of your Tarte foundation, because I love it! Hope this helps! ❤ love your videos
I appreciate when youtubers change their mind about products and accept it. Thanks for your update on La Mer~ I like these types of videos and I love your thoroughness.
I have dry skin as well and it is so tricky to try new skin care because If it doesn't like it, hello flakes and texture. I had texture issues for a while too (because of a drying cleanser and winter) but I used Paula's Choice Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment 10% AHA to get rid of texture & Skin Recovery Hydrating Treatment Mask to moisturize. I did the treatment mask for a 2 days then the AHA so my skin is now hydrated and smooth. If you want to get rid of texture immediately, probably do AHA first. For my driest days, I prefer NARS Radiant Tinted Moisturizer or Maybelline Cushion Foundation. And use setting spray instead of powder!
I have the Charlotte tilbury light wonder and I do agree that it can let your oils through if you wear it for a long time, though it’s not a long wear foundation to be fair, but I really don’t think it’s a tinted moisturiser or a cc cream it’s definitely buildable and it hides all my redness and it’s not really sheer either
I just have to say I absolutely love your videos! Your so sweet and humble and have such a genuine knowledge for products. Just thought I would let you know. Keep doing what your doing because i look forward to your videos each week xoxo
My favorite foundation is hands down the Make Up Forever Ultra HD foundation. I love it on its own when I need a fuller coverage, but day to day I use it thinned out with a beauty oil or moisturizer, and it just mixes beautifully with everything (even other foundations).
shocked you didn't mention the hd makeup forever foundation stick 😱 which would you say is best foundation stick- the tom ford one, hourglass one or makeup forever one?
I haven't found anything to beat Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua for my pale olive combination skin. A tiny drop covers the whole face. When I want less coverage, I can add a half-drop to my moisturizer or SPF and get a beautiful sheer tinted finish.
My favorite is the Lancôme teint idole. I have combo skin and I feel flawless when I wear it. I get compliments all the time. I got samples at Sephora to match my shade and ended up neutral instead of cool, which surprised me.
proof that we are always harder on ourselves than we realize: i always think my skin isn't that good (combination skin with a horribly greasy nose, some redness and imperfections), but i love the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder foundation (only in the winter, of course) and actually think it's worth the splurge because it is light and luminous, and evens out my skin well with just a little product. when Jaime said that it does nothing for her and barely covers her redness, it made me think, "oh, well, if that's the case, i really have nothing to complain about when it comes to my skin then (except for my nose, because that's just a lost cause)." so ladies, sisters, our hangups are always more noticeable to ourselves than they are to other people. let's be a little easier on ourselves and a little more loving.
Use smashbox primer oil 2 to 3 drops on your clean face, wait for 10 m let it dry completely and then put on your foundation I have very dry skin and it works wonders for me because laura mercier candle light glow looks wonderful on my skin however you are right about Kevin aucoin foundation it look very bad on my skin and I think mine was the bad batch it smelt like gone off milk I end up throwing it in the bin I have recently bought la Mar and it is just ok on my skin keeping in mind the price of it but all in all a good foundation review👍
You are on POINT with your assessment! I love Armani foundations! I have Maestro and Power Fabric. They work so well TOGETHER!! I put power fabric on my tzone & front of my cheeks and the Maestro around the peripheral.. blend together with a flat top brush and its magic! Stays all day.. I love the make up so much I bough the Universal powder in translucent and bronze. People may not like the bronze because it is shimmery but I use it again a little on the outside not the center of my face and it's lovely. I have slightly oily mature skin but its still very smooth.. so I cannot use any thick creamy foundations.. they all seem to cake up on me. I am going to buy the Maestro Glow because your foundation recommendations are spot on! I tried Candle Glow.. but I hated it and returned it. I love the candle glow powders they are lovely with primer and just on their own for days that I dont want a "full beat" You have a new subscriber!!
you should make a series of this like luxury eyeshadow palettes worth it or not worth it and you could also do one with luxury powders that would be a good series to watch
I have dry skin that occasionally has flakes and I always use the Marc Jacobs Genius Gel. No one ever talks about that one, but it really is GENIUS! It lasts so long, looks like airbrushed and skin-like, and hides flakes and dry spots, especially primed with a thicker moisturizer. I highly suggest that one! 😊 Also: only match I've ever found for my super pale skin. Others just won't work :(
Another great video! Agree with many of your picks especially the Estée Lauder even though I have combination skin. My own favs are Chanel Perfection Lumiere, Guerlein Lingerie de Peau and Koh Gen Do. Would love for you to do a guide on generally which types of primers go best with which foundations. I find a primer can make or break the finish of a foundation. Keep up the great work you're doing!
Love these videos! So helpful for viewers to get a glimpse behind the marketing hype. Do you ever use BB cushions? The Lancôme Miracle one is really good.
Hi Jaime! I'm not usually in the market for luxury foundations and have oily / combo skin but I love your videos so much I had to watch it anyway! You're one of my favorites! 🤗💁🏻💄💅🏻💜
I have sensitive dry skin, the estee lauder double wear cushion foundation made me brake out so bad I couldn't wear anything for 3 days, my skin was so irritated, I had bumps itchy red skin on my whole face. This happened to me only once when I was a teenager and used a really (extremely) crappy cheap product.
Really appreciate the comparison of the three GA foundations. When brands make multiple foundations (Tarte is another example), it can be tricky to know which to use when. That was super helpful (even though I know that wasn't even the intent of this particular video).
I totally get where people are coming from with applicators for foundation that could harbor bacteria (like the Estée Lauder stick and I think the Clinique one with the doe foot) BUT why does no one care about concealers like the shape tape? I always see YTers put it all over their face and stick it back in the tube, but be weirded out if its foundation. 🤔
This is how I do it. Wake in the morning and wash my face. Just water, until I don't feel morning oils on my skin. Walk to roam, don't touch anything else . Go straight to grab my moisturizer. Apply it and same with everything else. Including shape tape. When I'm sick, I take applicator and swatch product on the back of my washed cleaned hand and that's how I do it. Sterility 100%.
What do you think about the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation? I know it's not new but thinking about "splurging" on it and would love to hear your opinion
I just wanna say, your reviews honestly help me choose the right products. Your reviews are always so thorough and insightful. and I just wanna thank you 😊 (btw you're my all time favorite UA-camr 💕)
Interestingly, I have combination to oily skin and the hourglass Vanish stick foundation makes my skin look so oily throughout the day. It also makes my face look cakey. So I apply that only to the center of my face when using other foundations now. I'll have to try it with light to medium coverage.
Chalaida- I find it slightly dewy. Not super glowing- but not matte. It's a satin finish with a hint of glow. Love this foundation- pricey but so worth it.
I have dry skin and have spent hundreds of dollars and many, many months searching for the foundation that looks best on my skin. Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea is the BEST foundation I have ever used. I tried it based on your review and my skin just looks flawless combined with Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush powder compact.
no hate just asking for a friend but hoooww do people wear a sweater & only have one sleeve on i feel like i would die of heat & have one too cold i cant😂
I have very sensitive combo skin, always used luxury foundations. Month ago bought Max Factor Miracle Match (color 50 natural) and it works really beautifully on my skin
Oh my gosh, was surprised to hear you say you almost regret the La Mer Foundation. I recently purchased it now that it’s finally in deeper colours and in my video i absolutely loved!! But yah, the price is bananas
Hello there, great video!! I have dry skin and therefore I've always stayed away from stick foundations but I see that even though you have dry skin too you've included two in your recommendations. Between the two which one would you recommend for a 30 year old woman that seeks a medium coverage foundation for an every day use.? Thanks in advance 😀👍🏻
My favourite one is the Urban Decay Stay Naked the best, but also found the Bobbi Brown one to be quite good. I've always wanted to try one of the Armani ones
I've been using the Chanel Les Beiges foundation for like a month and I'm mad about how much I like it. I have dry skin and some discoloration, and the foundation covers all the spots, and still has a really sheer natural finish.
I love your look in this video! 😇😇😇. If you haven't tried it already, I LOVE the Diorskin Nude foundation! I have combination skin but it just looks so nice and seamless on me. I also love the Armani luminous silk and can't wait to try the Power Fabric! I wanted to love the Hourglass Vanish stick but as soon as I put it on I just thought "nope!" It just felt so thick on me and didn't sink in!
Thank you for your review! For your skin issues, may I suggest Paula's Choice or the CeraVe product line recommended by dermatologists ? I only wear tinted moisturizers, but was considering Bobbie Brown's Skin Stick Foundation in Alabaster. Have you compared that to Hour Glass's product that is similiar? This week only, Bobbie Brown is having a 20% OFF sale and Ebates is also giving 4% off those products.
I have always found most Laura Mercier products very drying. I think they work best for people with normal skin who want something illuminating. They don't work very well for really dry or dehydrated skin. Great reviews, I agree with all of your points on the ones I have tried!
Jamie I am so glad you did this video bc I am currently trying to find a lux foundation that will look good with my DRY skin, I'm like an alligator or somethin'...lol! Anyway I really like he IT Cosmetics and that is what I've been wearing (besides drugstore). I've been thinking about getting the Born This Way or the Makeup Forever Ultra HD, plus I am always getting the wrong color (it seems). I have to order online bc there isn't an Ulta, Sephora etc...in my little town in Kentucky. Since the Coal Mining Industry has gone downhill, alot of people have moved away and we don't have a big assortment of places to shop anymore. I could always travel to other parts of the state but I hate to travel, so I do alot of shopping online. If you have any suggestions plz let me know. So hun I hope you have a fabulous week and I will see you in the next vid....love ya!!!! xox
Jamie Paige have u tried the diorskin forever perfect foundation? I'm so interested in how it works on us dry skin peeps :-) love this video...i think I need to try some of ur suggestions.
hey jamie. i feel like u and i agree on foundations and powders a lot. our skin types are very similar and one drugstore foundation that i love that works for dry skin is the ex1 (i purchase mine from asos because its a UK brand). But i also think u should try the dior air flash aerosol type of foundation. thats 1 high end foundation that i think its definitely worth the splurge. it just looks soooooooo beautiful on the skin.
i used the air flash years ago and I am now right back on it- I spray it onto my Tarte huge buffing brush and buff it in- just so in love with this foundation- I am normal to dry and 47 yrs old!
I should've tried mixing an oil into the Giorgio Armani. I could not make it work for me for the life of me! I swear you could see camels on my skin it was so dry. It settled into pores I didn't even know I had! 😭 So sad.
it wouldn't be a Jamie Paige video without a price typo 😅 The Maestro glow is $68 USD, not $6 USD (I wish lol)!
Jamie Paige luv u jamie!!😍😍
Jamie Paige I did a double take! Lol
Speaking of: since you have dry skin, you should try mixing the Maestro Glow with the Luminous Silk ;) Also, there is a white Maestro Glow, so if you get your summer shade in Luminous, you can customise the depth and use it all year round :)
omg yes I need to try that!!! it sounds magical
Girl did you already do a video on tinted moisturizers and BB creams? I love your reviews! I'm considering buying one because I've been blessed with great skin but I still want something on and Foundation is just too much for me.
me: *can't afford any of these anyway*
also me: *watches in case I miraculously find a random $100 bill*
If I'm spending $100 on a foundation, I feel like a makeup artist should appear every day to put it on for me. 🤣
hahaha!!!
I love you and your talking style and your choice and your clothes background everything!! Pls do a drugstore foundation too.
Drugstore version is going to be coming up :)
Hahhahah jamieeeeeee omG you replied me 💋❤️ omyGod you made my day ❤️
I just ordered the luminous silk foundation after watching your video. I've had it in my shopping bag for a while now but finally bit the bullet and ordered it! Can't wait to try it out!!

Cocolagaffe18 I agree! I love both bourjois foundations, they're my favourite drugstore foundations by far! 👌🏼
do you know if i can get the healthy mix anywhere in the states?
Cocolagaffe18 i love healthy mix foundation it's so good
I love this type of video, could u do a drugstore version? Like which one is worth trying and which one is not?

yes for sure! a drugstore version is coming up :) I think maybe the vanish foundation for your skin type!
The Hourglass Vanish stick is my favorite foundation of all time!!! The finish looks so amazing on my skin (not too dry or too dewy in any place, which is rare to find with combo skin) and I always get so many compliments because it makes my skin look FLAWLESS
right?!? it's magical
Love this series and hearing your opinion🙌🏼❤️
So informative!

Jamie, can you please review Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation?
My favorite foundation is hands down the Make Up Forever Ultra HD foundation. I love it on its own when I need a fuller coverage, but day to day I use it thinned out with a beauty oil or moisturizer, and it just mixes beautifully with everything (even other foundations).
I love the Chanel Healthy Glow foundation. I have oily skin, and it really does give my skin a healthy glow.

I haven't found anything to beat Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua for my pale olive combination skin. A tiny drop covers the whole face. When I want less coverage, I can add a half-drop to my moisturizer or SPF and get a beautiful sheer tinted finish.
What color do u recommend for light olive please?
Have you ever tried the Makeup Forever HD stick foundation? I'm really curious to see your thoughts on that!
Which do you prefer? Hourglass vs. TF stick foundation???
My favorite is the Lancôme teint idole. I have combo skin and I feel flawless when I wear it. I get compliments all the time. I got samples at Sephora to match my shade and ended up neutral instead of cool, which surprised me.
What lip color are u wearing???!!😍😍😍
Really love this setup and natural lighting! I can see your face so much better and you look so bright and fresh xx
Hmmm maybe it's also the foundation & clean eyemakeup combo.. Would love a grwm for this kind of simple everyday look!

So happy to see someone else with dry skin. I just discovered you & am binge watching your channel now!
Jill Peterson same here girl!
welcome to my channel Jill ! :)
Can you recommend some dupes for the Light Wonder Foundation?
You are on POINT with your assessment! I love Armani foundations! I have Maestro and Power Fabric. They work so well TOGETHER!! I put power fabric on my tzone & front of my cheeks and the Maestro around the peripheral.. blend together with a flat top brush and its magic! Stays all day.. I love the make up so much I bough the Universal powder in translucent and bronze. I am going to buy the Maestro Glow because your foundation recommendations are spot on! I tried Candle Glow.. but I hated it and returned it. I love the candle glow powders they are lovely with primer and just on their own for days that I dont want a "full beat" You have a new subscriber!!
you should make a series of this like luxury eyeshadow palettes worth it or not worth it and you could also do one with luxury powders that would be a good series to watch
what lipstick is this???😍😍😍😍😍
Jaime do you have a foundation shade list ?
The doubewear nude comes in a bottle now too!
Jamie where is the pearl necklace from?? I've been eyeing it for a few videos already it's gorgeous!!
Ive only tried the Armani Luminous silk out of all of these and really like it. I want to try the power fabric next
PLS NEVER STOP MAKING THESE TYPES OF VIDS JAMIE
do this with tinted moisturizers and bb creams!!!
and cc creams too
Can you do a video on your current fav primers. I have very dry skin and i find it hard to find a good one. Thank you sweetie
I can't resist a video about foundations :D foundations are my fave category of makeup
Others just won't work :(
Colors for comparison would have been helpful
Another great video! Agree with many of your picks especially the Estée Lauder even though I have combination skin. My own favs are Chanel Perfection Lumiere, Guerlein Lingerie de Peau and Koh Gen Do. Would love for you to do a guide on generally which types of primers go best with which foundations. I find a primer can make or break the finish of a foundation. Keep up the great work you're doing!
I loved this video!! Btw! Please keep making these a series!
I love your videos! you not only have my skin type, but you post the price of everything you talk about.. keep up the good work!
This happened to me only once when I was a teenager and used a really (extremely) crappy cheap product.
the lighting in this video is so beautiful! you look like an angel seriously. 💓
If anyone with oily skin wants to try a serum foundation, the Gressa minimalist serum foundation dries down matte it's great ;)
Really appreciate the comparison of the three GA foundations. When brands make multiple foundations (Tarte is another example), it can be tricky to know which to use when. That was super helpful (even though I know that wasn't even the intent of this particular video).
I think there is un petit typo for the 1st armani foundation- unless 6$ US is possible ! :o
YSL Touché Eclat is magic for dry skin!
Monica Maria I guess it might be because people who figure that the under eye area is not a common place to break out?
Monica Maria I think it may be because the under eye is not as prone to break outs as other areas you put foundation on
This is how I do it.
My faves for my dry skin are Bobbi Brown serum foundation (HG), Lancôme Teint ultra and Armani luminous silk
try the Josie Maran Vibrancy Foundation, its great for dry skin
What do you think about the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation? I know it's not new but thinking about "splurging" on it and would love to hear your opinion
Too faced born this way is my favourite no matter how many I try I just still love that one the most!
I really like your eyeshadow! Beautiful! What colours did you use?
What shade are you in the Ester Lauder foundation? Just for reference 😊
I'll have to try it with light to medium coverage.
the tom ford traceless foundation is it more towards the dewy side or the matte side?? and how do you apply it??
Chalaida- I find it slightly dewy. Not super glowing- but not matte. It's a satin finish with a hint of glow. Love this foundation- pricey but so worth it.
Great!! thats what I am looking for!! Thank you so much!! ;)
You need to do Dior foundation review! I hope to get your view on it coz everyone else love dior foundation.
I like your peachy pink lip color. What is it?
I have dry skin and have spent hundreds of dollars and many, many months searching for the foundation that looks best on my skin. Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea is the BEST foundation I have ever used. I tried it based on your review and my skin just looks flawless combined with Charlotte Tilbury's Airbrush powder compact.
no hate just asking for a friend but hoooww do people wear a sweater & only have one sleeve on i feel like i would die of heat & have one too cold i cant😂
WHY do people do this? I can't handle it 😳😂
Love the cami that you are wearing, the delicate lace around it is so beautiful!
please please please review the power fabric
I have very sensitive combo skin, always used luxury foundations. Month ago bought Max Factor Miracle Match (color 50 natural) and it works really beautifully on my skin
Double Wear hands down!!
very natural looking for sure.
I love combining the Georgio Armani Luminous Silk with the Estee Lauder Double Wear. I use a 3:1 ratio double wear to luminous silk.
I love how you look here, your hair and everything! :) your skin is so glowy here too xx
Which beauty oil are you using?
Oh my gosh, was surprised to hear you say you almost regret the La Mer Foundation. I recently purchased it now that it’s finally in deeper colours and in my video i absolutely loved!! But yah, the price is bananas
Awesome video ❤️ would love to know the foundation shades ❤️
Hello there, great video!! I have dry skin and therefore I've always stayed away from stick foundations but I see that even though you have dry skin too you've included two in your recommendations. Between the two which one would you recommend for a 30 year old woman that seeks a medium coverage foundation for an every day use.? Thanks in advance 😀👍🏻
My favourite one is the Urban Decay Stay Naked the best, but also found the Bobbi Brown one to be quite good. I've always wanted to try one of the Armani ones
this is just the video I've been waiting for, desperate need of a new foundation!!!
I've been using the Chanel Les Beiges foundation for like a month and I'm mad about how much I like it. I have dry skin and some discoloration, and the foundation covers all the spots, and still has a really sheer natural finish.
Jenn N I have combo/oily skin and it works very well for me too!
Love your hair style now! It's light and casual, very very beautiful! The dressing code is great today!! Love you more and more Jamie!❤❤
Best thing about a Monday morning! Always looking forward to your opinions on different products ❤️
For your skin issues, may I suggest Paula's Choice or the CeraVe product line recommended by dermatologists
?
I only wear tinted moisturizers, but was considering Bobbie Brown's Skin Stick Foundation in Alabaster. Have you compared that to Hour Glass's product that is similiar?
This week only, Bobbie Brown is having a 20% OFF sale and Ebates is also giving 4% off those products.
I have always found most Laura Mercier products very drying. I think they work best for people with normal skin who want something illuminating. They don't work very well for really dry or dehydrated skin. Great reviews, I agree with all of your points on the ones I have tried!
Thank you this is hopefully
helpful for my dry skin!
So hun I hope you have a fabulous week and I will see you in the next vid....love ya!!!! xox
OMG! Much needed video!!
I'm obsessed with your hair and makeup in this video
This is one of my favorite series. So much information packed into 15 minutes. #Snapchatfam
Jaime! The master palette dupe video please 😇
Faves: Becca Aqua Luminous and Armani Luminous Silk..I'm normal with combo tendencies. Great video!
I'd love to see a video about your favourite tinted moisturizers, BB creams and CC creams at various price points! 😇😇😇😇😇
Jamie Paige have u tried the diorskin forever perfect foundation? I'm so interested in how it works on us dry skin peeps :-) love this video...i think I need to try some of ur suggestions.
Loveee This series!! What do you think about the Ko Gen Do foundation??? :)
Hi @jamie, what lipstick did you use in this video? It looks stunninggggg!!
Thank goodness for Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk! Can't go wrong with that one 😊👍
It's bomb!!!! Worth every penny !!!
Have you ever tried any YSL foundation like the Youth Liberator?(I think that's the name)
hey jamie. i feel like u and i agree on foundations and powders a lot. our skin types are very similar and one drugstore foundation that i love that works for dry skin is the ex1 (i purchase mine from asos because its a UK brand).
😭 So sad.
