It's a fun one. Was my first time driving a Lotus and, honestly, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I just thought a 50 year old car with such little power might be hard to love, but the feel is so good that it just takes over and it's a blast even at low speeds. A bit sketchy among all of the oversized cars and trucks on the road, but that also made it kind of more fun.
@@sugoidessho Was my first time driving a Europa (or even spending some time around one) and I was seriously impressed by it. Funky looking car, but pretty in its own way and a ton of fun to drive.
This is a fine example of the Lotus Europa Special. I had a 1969 Europe (Renault) a 1972 twin cam and finally the John Player Special. All brand new. The JPS had a nicely tweaked twin cam with Webers. I could outdrive TVR Griffiths, Corvettes, Porsches, Tigers...the car was so well developed that even this 4 cylinder sports car could out corner, out brake and out accelerate everything on the road at that time. Colin Chapman brought it all together in the little Europe.
Every review I ever read/seen on the Europa is positive & suggests what a great car it is. The styling is so much better IRL when you can understand it’s ‘small scale’. Great vid. Thanks for posting.
It’s actually wild how small they are. When you see photos of them you don’t realize how tiny the wheels and tires are and it throws off your entire perception of the scale of the car. Was actually surprised by just how enjoyable it was to drive.
... Check out Banks Europas, across the pond here, replica turn key examples, various chassis options, including spaceframe, clamshell body's you name it!.
This was my first time driving one and I really enjoyed it. Not a ton of power, but (unsurprisingly) the steering feel is incredible. Will definitely get you lost of confused looks, too, which is kind of fun. This was a particularly nice example and sold for $46,000 a few weeks ago.
One of my favorite automobiles. Thank you!!!
It was my first time driving one and I really enjoyed it. I shouldn't have been, but I was impressed with how great the steering feel is.
... Gorge-ee-ouses 😎🥰🚗. Big love from across the pond 🇬🇧🇺🇸!.

... Well in little Britain/England, I guess we are part of Europe, but also not so (not connected ,a little island separate etc).

This is the first time I see this car, I did not know it existed

Damn!
Haha, yeah, it's a fun one. Was my first time driving a Lotus of the era and I really enjoyed it. Super engaging drive.
Wonder if I could get one for my 70th birthday in April? (Hint hint Honey)
How'd you fair? Driving around in a Europa now?
Doggone it, I want one
