Crazy to think 2 Scoops is probably considered the greatest contender of all time. He was so close to getting beat here. If not for the closest landing ever seen on the zipline we probably never get his other legendary performances like the Battle of the Best with Kyler Storm and International Gladiators.
@AmericanGladiators I absolutely love that you are posting these classics for all to watch! I noticed, however, that one episode is missing: S03E09 Please upload that one too if you have it, thanks!
That one's the Pro Football Challenge of Champions; looks like all the "special" episodes are being skipped for the time being. Whether they go back, who knows. It's too bad prelims were skipped because of the taping schedule and when injuries happened.
Zap is a lot more than just a Seasoned Veteran. She always leaves a Lasting Impact, like a Bolt of Lightning, no matter who she competes against. Zap is the AG Queen!!!
Nothing wrong with wild card slots, especially if you have to fit 26 episodes into a season (it was run twice in a year, though I think they skipped the specials in season 4 the second time around, but can't remember), and you want to give as many contenders as possible a chance to have their 15 minutes of fame.
@@wschmrdr There was a lot of Controversy surrounding the Wild Card Slots that occurred in Season 4, where the 2 Runners-Up in the Grand Championship had to use the Wild Card Slots to make it into the finale, and gave us a Most Boring Grand Finale in Season 4. A lotta fans that year Protested against the Wild Cards that season, and made AG make that Rule Change
I really hate the two Bonafide attempts of the travelator rule in this series. Had that rule not be in place and instead requiring the contender to get up the travelator no matter how long it takes, there would be a lot more exciting races in the Eliminator.
The original rule was three attempts on the treadmill, obviously changed to 2 since the treadmill was moved to the end. It isn't fun to watch a complete deadlock; on the revival they had a nine minute eliminator, which they heavily edited (and for decent reason, too).
Yeah I still don't agree with this rule. The UK made them go for as many attempts as they could muster. If it was deadlocked because both contenders were tired, then a run off was done after a short break. Seems the fairest way to me
That whole controversy with Mark Muse & The Eliminator isn’t an error on the Ref, but the Error on the Contender. Even if Mark Muse didn’t have that confusion after he got off the Zipline, it wasn’t that that cost him the win. As Mike Adamle pointed out, it was the Treadmill that cost him the Victory, as he was Slow to make it up the 1st Attempt. So, the Loss was all on Mark Muse, and 2 Scoops Won Fair & Square, at 3000%
Not necessarily slow, so much as a rule that you lose the attempt if you step on the side (as opposed to simply being warned by the ref to stay on the belt in previous seasons); you can tell because the belt stops for safety reasons if they step off.
To be fair to Mark as he stopped and started before climbing up the wall that could have messed up his momentum going for the treadmill. I feel like they possibly could have shown discretion and just let him go up that part of the wall but I don't know how much difference it would have made as he'd have had to wait for 2 scoops anyway
I felt bad for April. Mad props to her for even competing, but being so tiny, I knew she didn't really have a chance in Tug-of-War, Gauntlet, or Whiplash. Just seeing Blaze toss her from the Pyramid, you could tell Blaze didn't have to put much effort in those throws. Also, did the guys not play Swingshot? The ladies had one more event than the guys, at least one more that aired.
Interesting that on the Wall, the Center Portion doesn’t have as many Hand Grips, as much as the Outer-Center Areas, which led to Mark Muse to take the Straight Climb Up the Wall.
I was extremely impressed with Mark Muse on the Wall. It looked like in a few places he used his arms only. Great battle between Mark Muse and 2 Scoops.
Have to figure you're not allowed to start there, and with the ridge strategy, it's clear they had to make the wall more difficult with each passing round. Not all that surprising, though the next episode (taped the same session as this) had contenders using the center of the wall; "You'll see how they do on the next episode" (though I'm sure most of us already know what happened)
Was Episode Nine of Season Five on the American Gladiators with the two Grand Champion contenders, Kimberly Tyler and Wesley "Two Scoops" Berry with the 100%?
The unfairness is fact Muse had furthest route to start and after zipline must immediately stop ending all foreword momentum to take shortest route after being stopped because they had bad rules, the right lane always keeps right lane w/o it being a perfect circle is unfair plus after knowing I lost I wouldnt try as hard either so time isnt proof they ended the timer to allow points to matter, if furthest lane always took closest lane zig zagging outcome would have been diff. because no-one would have came to full stop.
To be fair, as Adamle said, Muse had the problem on the Travelator at the end (Berry faltered his first time), which was what lost it for him. If Berry made it up his first attempt, the issue at the wall would've had more of an impact. Muse had a golden chance at that point.
