- The 2023 Gubernatorial elections for 5th largest economy and the seventh fastest growing city in the world, Lagos State is scheduled to hold on the 18th of March 2023, after it was postponed for a week by the Independent Electoral Commission Of Nigeria. A lot of highly controversial conversation has been on amongst Lagosians as to who the next governor of Lagos should be amongst the incumbent Governor ‘Babajide Sanwo-olu’;seeking relection for a second term and new heavy weight contenders like the candidate of the PDP ‘Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran’ popularly known ‘Jandor’ and the candidate of the Labour Party ’Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour’, Funsho Doherty Of The ADC, amongst others.
On this episode of Streetpinions on Genius Radio Tv, we took our mics to the streets of Lagos to find out what everyday Lagosians think about the candidates who have presented themselves for the No.1 job in Lagos, Nigeria and who they would voting for come Saturday. We also asked Lagosians what they felt was the most troubling problem in the state and what they feel the next governor should set as top priority if they got elected.

What exactly is the problem with some Nigerians and the use of human memory?
1. Tinubu did everything as governor in his power to bring Enron from Texas to provide 24-hour electricity to Lagos but OBJ made certain that initiative never succeeded because he doesn't like anyone with a superior idea surpassing him.
Did you just move into Lagos not to know this? For your information, president Buhari yesterday the 18th day of March 2023 has now made that initiative a federal law in the Nigerian Constitution allowing any state to generate, distribute and transmit its own electricity! Imagine how many years ago Tinubu tried to do that and imagine what bad state actors have brought upon you and millions of other Nigerians!
2. Those bad state actors after assassinating Bola Ige in his bedroom in Bodija Ibadan would have taken the life of Tinubu if he had been loose enough with his own life to entrust it to the Nigerian police. If you were in his shoes, wouldn't you make the intelligent decision of surrounding yourself and your fortress with a combat-ready force you know OBJ and his violent likes would never dare?
It's either you don't know the violent history of politics in Nigeria or you choose not to care because Tinubu is the subject matter.
Lastly, while Europe and America are fighting Russia in a proxy war with Ukraine and as a result Russia has cut off gas supply to Europe that they need for daily survival, Tinubu before February 25th was the presidential candidate who spurred on president Buhari to take the initiative of laying thousands of kilometres in gas pipelines through Mediterranean Africa to supply gas to Europe and bring in far more massive revenues to Nigeria!
It'd be for your own good if you stop following tribal and religious sentiments, and vote tomorrow for Sanwo-Olu, one of many stellar products of the guidance and leadership of Tinubu!

Agbero is one of our greatest problem in Lagos and the APC government is backing them. If Lagosians are wise, this election should be between LP and PDP.
We must consider other states too; not only Lagos. If we hold other state governors accountable, their states will thrive which will reduce the influx of people into Lagos. Any Lagos Governor has to work extra hard for us to see the dividends of democracy. The number of people coming into Lagos on a daily basis makes it more difficult to govern Lagos. Let us strive to make other states vibrant to reduce the overpopulation in Lagos. Let's focus on other states; who are we bringing in? What are their plans? For Nigeria to work, we must reduce the over reliance on Lagos. Other states must create an enabling environment for people to live in. Thank you.
