Till B has some sho-nuf soul! I like the fact that as Americans we think we only got it but check out Till and Pat throwing down with this sluggin laid back joint!!
Saludos.
Probably an even better example: Café com pão - Till Bronner - Avo Session 2008 - 1:12 (to feel the tune) - 2:53. Not to say (in a childish way) he's the "best trumpet player ever!!", but he certainly is very high on the list and not just an average "good musician".
Till's flugelhorn is cool and tasty on this cut; perfect complement to the tune and Metheny's guitar. Hey, he's not Freddie Lee, Clifford or Miles but he's damn good! Love his sound.
"best jazz trumpet player on the planet today" This has to be coming from someone who doesn't play the instrument or even play music. He is a great player but best????
Both he and I loved the same guy.....Chet Baker. The difference is that I am 80 years old and he is in his 40s. However Chet was my mentor and taught me everything I know about music. One more thing I am a keyboard player......but this cat is a reicarnation of CB.!!!!
This is the anatomy of cool funk....it saddens me that other countries seem so much more attuned to jazz then America. I will probably get some negative feed back on this but the fact remains.....
Honestly, I don't get Pat Metheny, it's a mystery to me why this guy is so famous, people must be starved for entertainment, till on the other hand, just brilliant. Pat Metheny his sound is soul blend, and his solos are so Square and quite frankly pointless, now I know there are going to be people they're going to get their feathers all ruffled, but folks I got ears, and this is what I hear. Sayonara
Perhaps you haven't heard Pat Metheny in the right contexts. This cut is some kind of dumbed-down "smooth jazz" and he's clearly trying to fit the style (if we can call it that). Unfortunately even the P M Group started to lose their edge after a while. Check out early PMG, or his work with heavier jazz players. Metheny is a true original.
Yeah it seemed like they didn't have Till miked up like they usually do. Till is DA Shit!@algor65 If you are a real jazz musician, they you will see his mastery in this video: DON GRUSIN feat CHUCK LOEB "All The Things You Are". No flash, no tricks, no bullshit. Every jazz trumpet player that has ever gotten on stage has strived to play a solo this clean and tasty... Don't believe me, then transcribe 1:55 - 2:55 (again, if you are a real musician, who can actuall back up their opinion ;-). And that's not even his best. Then please tell us what you like better. I'm sure it must be good after a comment like that ;-).
Excellent Till Bronner and Metheny...suave song..
Imagine that. Pat Metheny and Till Bronner together - WOW !
When it’s right it’s right.
When its more than right its more than tight!
Whoa!
Grande Encontro Musical ! Sopros Fantasticos com Muito bom Gosto e Guitarra Especial de Estilo Unico.....Bom D+.
What a hip but simple tune. Kind of out. Reminded me of Cannonball. About the best thing I ever heard Metheny play. Or maybe because he didn't.
Love this, especially the tenor player!
Gracias amigo

very nice!
Till Bronner ... so fine 👍
Lesław "Leszek" Możdżer is also a phenomenal jazz pianist ... check out his other pieces at this concert. Amazing 😉
sunday morning serenade, good stuff
Awesome Channel- I really enjoyed watching!
Best wishes, Max
pat groovin.......so cool!
Grandissimi
I'm just now finding out about Till B, LOVE THE GUY!
He's my new Miles Davis.
I agree!
He is DEFINITELY NOT MILES!!!
Great!
Love this version better than the CD version
Que buena musica

Anyone else sick of the ever growing intrusion into jazz playlists by "jazzed" up rock/popular songs? More of this!
neil adlington sometimes it works
@Trumpetmac Yes, I agree with you!! Till & Pat show us that!!

mooi zeg!!! : )
Muito bom aprecio sua técnica
Sov godt.
Vi tales ved smukke
Peter Weniger on tenor played the best solo.
Super Geil Music

Sweeeeeeeeet! :=)
John Mitchell Green
JEEEZZ...did anybody else see how much spit he let out of his horn at the start??? The nile just dried up!
Till hat´s absolut drauf!
Who's the tenor player? Nice hard edge.
Karl-Martin Almqvist
Thanks for the info. Nice funky overall sound from the band.
@algor65 in fact, i think most of tills recordings are pretty boring stuff...
What a combo and cool groove, when Pat comes in @1:01 those chords are killer.
Pat Metheny sounds like Scofield for a moment there
What happened to the Flugelhorn? FOH gain him up!
a better question, how can there be any dislikes on this ?

Reel Thing I'm a Rick Braun guy myself
A "best" player never excist, it is so subjective.
Great sound and I am enjoying this event.

C'mon guys....,! Who is the tenor man????
Karl-Martin Almqvist
You better listen to his body of work before you make state that opinion. The cat comes from Freddie, Chet, Bobby Shew and has a sound all his own.
What is he playing?
LordOfYahoo Flugelhorn
Metheny seems a bit out of place, but still Till and Company is a very nice thing!
I hear John scofield,

I better don’t start... man what are you talking
@@moussavarolgil9658 I'm not a fan of his sound, he's a great guitar player but that fucking pussy ass sound! I can't even tell what he's playing!
@@athruzathruz everyone has his own opinion. I respect that. But I Love Methenys sound
@@moussavarolgil9658 It's cool.
