It is about bird with blue feathers, who laid eggs. One egg became a moon, second is a sun, third is world wonder, fourth is a star, fifth is a rainbow. Very old song.

I'm tracing my Estonian heritage through my great grandfather and trying to learn more about his culture. Does anyone have an English translation for this song or even the song name? It's so beautiful....

I just want to say that I recently got an fully detailed translation for this song from one of you Estonian UA-cam´rs. Apparently, it´s about a bird with blue feathers.

It is a typical "creation of the world" song. Every native culture has stories how things came to be.

Estonian lost in America for a long time. This song fills me with wonder again. I used to play pretend in the pines of rural America me and sister heroes of the Viking age. Perhaps it was real? Jomsviking

I love the picture of Estonian clothes. I've watched other Estonian videos and seen this. What is the woolen tunic called?

I think Ochibason means that all baltic states stand together and that he fight for estonia and Lithuania too, because he is from latvia. So that no one anex the countries again against there will! The fight of freedom in the baltic states was very long and tragicaly.

I´m sorry, I don´t fully understand your message. I´m not from Balticum myself, I´m just a fan of traditional Baltic music.

      Original Estonian lyrics
Sinisirje linnukene, sinisirje, kulde kirje lendas meie koppelisse.
      2) Kolm oli põesast koppelissa: üks oli sinine põesas, teine oli punane
põesas, kolmas kullal kirjutatud. 3) Põlgas ta sinise põesa, põlgas ta
      punase põesa, võttis kulda armaaksi.
      4) Hakkas ta pesa tegema. Tegi kuu, tegi kaksi, tegi tüki kolmat kuuda,
nädaliku neljat kuuda, viiendiku viiet kuuda. Hakkas ta mune munema.
Munes kuu, munes kaksi, munes kuu kolmat kuuda, nädaliku neljat kuuda,
veerandiku viiet kuuda. Hakkas poegi haudumaie. Haudus kuu, haudus
kaksi, haudus kuu kolmat kuuda, nädaliku neljat kuuda, veerandiku viiet
      kuuda.
      5) Üks sai kuuks Kuuramaale, teine päevaks Pärnumaale, kolmas ilmale
imeksi, neljas täheks taevaaksi, viies vikerkaariks veeremaie.

according to the comment on that video this is the translation:
      A blue bird,
      a blue, golden, colorful bird
      flew to our meadow.
There were three bushes on the meadow:
      one was a blue bush,
      one was a red bush,
the third was a golden bush.
She did not care about the blue bush,
she did not care about the red bush,
she was pleased with the golden bush.
The bird started to build a nest:
she built it for a month, for another month,
      for a third month,
for a week on the forth month,
a bit on the fifth month.
      She started to lay eggs:
laid for a month, for another month,
      for a third month,
for a week on the forth month,
a bit on the fifth month.
She started to hatch the eggs:
hatched for a month, for another month,
      for a third month,
for a week on the forth month,
a bit on the fifth month.
One chick became the moon for Kurland,
the second became the sun for Pärnu county,
      the third became the world,
      the fourth became the stars,
      the fifth became the rainbow.

+Erik Isidoro I haven´t got a full translation, but I got a summary of the lyrics in the comments to the video clip, some years ago. By some strange reasons, that commentary with the summary is no longer avaible on You Tube. All I can recall, is that the song is about a song with blue feathers.
