Finally something decent to watch. Man there’s some crap on tv.
Cheers legend!
is this on your tv? its YT. While both maybe drunk, one is hyped and the guy on the right needs a good nanna nap.
Great pod boys. Looking forward to the upcoming guests, should be great listens
Cheers! 🍻
Went to the 12h in 2015. Was such a chill weekend compared to the 1000. Like Barbs said it was dope having a V12 Aston alarm clock. ❤
Other problem with the 12 hour now years is the middle east has some crazy competitive races at the start of the year. Teams and drivers are preferring to race over there as well as costs.
Very anticipation to hear me some Willy.P, cheers nice one Scott & EB.🇦🇺🏁
Ford Performance Launch could drop bombshell with Supercars...
My first ever visit to the mountain was for the 12hour in 2009. I was absolutely floored by the grid size and the amount of different cars, as well as access.
I love the GT3 cars but there needs to be more classes. It's lost its fizz since supercars took over ownership...
I would prefer to go to the Easter 6hour and see more production cars race.
tbh I'm gutted to hear there's so few entrants to the 12hr, one of my fave races of the season! do reckon it's way too close to Daytona for teams to do both tho. Surprising to me that GT3 isn't too popular in aus from an international POV given the popularity elsewhere with IMSA/DTM/British GT/GTWC etc but defo still glad I've got the V8s to enjoy haha
on the whole FCY thing, i really think the way IMSA do it at the mo is the best version across all the categories, with having a safety car and closing the pits aside from emergency service. Keeps things relatively level and also puts some pressure back on the crews when the pits do open again :)
loving the pod over here in the UK, keep up the great work lads!
Loved the Daytona 24, huge field and yes the 12 hour needs a date change to attract more cars.
Lee Holdsworth is the only driver to leave Team 18 and continue his career with Tickford as a full timer. I can't find anyone else who has continued full time post T18.
The cost of a GT3 though blows me away. Especially for fuel. Grass roots racing does well because you can run an excel and pay $10 in fuel for a weekend if you enter the right category. It's not any surprise the 12 hour is in decline, which is downright sad because it's an awesome event. They almost need to bring back production cars as another class within the race like they used to. Remember when they had the Fiats and those types of cars running against the GT3 cars.
It was pretty special back when Chaz started 2nd on the grid in the marcGT BMW M3, basically privateers against factory teams.
Hi apex hunters I was reading somewhere that trans am and ta2 in Australia are using different brands for tyres this year if you boys could find out and talk about on your next pod that would be great keep up the good work
Different gearbox option and maybe tyre sponsor...
I have gotten through Parc Ferme with being just over min combined weight after downing 2 water bottles that I was passed through the window lol. It does work :)
Every year I watch the 1st 2hrs then go back to bed
So good to hear some dollar figures
Great episode guys 🤙
Are Carrera Cup cars allowed in the 12 hour?, if not they should be, would help bolster the entry.
Supercars do have a good live service for international viewers already on UA-cam. Been subscribed for years
Cars have never come from Daytona to the 12hr… it’s been a week after many times and it’s never been an issue , Daytona is IMSA they run torque sensors and have different BOP anyway . The issue is all the additional events in the Middle East
Had no idea the 12 hour was this weekend 😅
🤣 well you do now and it is a good watch if you’re keen.
if you run the ration of bathurst 60/40 and then the fuel makes the decision becuas fule drops don't match and make the max stint to 2 or 62 laps before a break
We need the lemon 12 hour lol
Can you get Russell Ingall and Greg Murphy come on together, that would create some insight into the current age, devoid of any true rivalries
Good ep gents.
Hey guys, this is first podcast I've watched about supercars/GT, more of F1 guy. Really good stuff, would like to see some editing in of shots of who/teams when talking about, helps add to the narrative. I fully agree that supercars had BY FAR the most parity of any series in the world, but supercars do a shit job of advertising it. That should be front and center it all about the driver and racing. The downside is there is less off track drama from the teams, so that needs to be engineered between races to keep in race news cycle.
Keep up the great work fellas.
Question for Chucky . What Domestic racing do you have planned for 2025 season ? Hattah , Finke , Australian Enduro Championship etc ??
Best show boys love it
Cheers mate! 🍻

Shitbox Rally is a very real thing guys. It raises funds for Cancer research (over $50m so far!)
If 19 Media could also tag along (even though Box Rallies already have their own production team), that would be awesome!
They should allow 6hr production cars race at the 12hr. I'm most likely wrong but didn't they run production cars at the 12hr. I'll contradict myself before others, maybe it was the 24hr at Bathurst in the 80's/90's.
12 hour started as a production car race, switched to GT3 as the top class in 2011. Then in 2017 the 6 Hour was created for the production cars.
@Preso_ Thanks for educating me. Now I'll go back to pretending I know everything. 🤔🤣
the pace disparity might be a bit dangerous these days. even gt4's look like a major hinderance
The only preview of the 12hr I've seen on UA-cam is from a dude called Formula Jonah.
Co-divers should have options Or we go back Full-time Drivers in one car and Once a year in the other. I think having Main start IF I was Qual down the back I would Start from pit lane in the pit box and do driver change and then leave Mind you lost 30 seconds But you can go 2 lap longer an if Safety car Jack pot
over the last decade it's just felt like driver rankings globally (in sports cars) just causes way too much trouble for what they are worth. Really not a fan of what the SRO is doing with getting rid of the Nationals (feels similar to how they took over PWC here in the States) - it just seems like the most backwards thing that SRO & CAMS could be doing (when times are tougher financially the top levels need to double down on support for the grassroots levels).
12 Hour needs to get back towards what it used to be with classes for stuff that's outside of GT3 & GT4 - like how the Nurburgring 24 is.
i agree with the Matt Hill guy... he also sounds like a great bloke
Because that was me
the commentator thing... i think Crompo is the perfect supercars race caller.... skaife not so much, too one sided...
remember ...Crompo was a pit reporter before he was a driver... he knows the sport inside out...and also has a proper media background..
I think crompo is a better analyst than caller, the series could do with a fresh voice to call the action, crompo has lost a lot of his excitement
I could be wrong but because of his age Lowndes is classed as a Silver these days
"GT racing is hard to follow" it's kinda right it is a lot to wrap your head around. But I love it and I'd rather watch GT racing over Supercars. It's just so much more entertaining for me.
Hope chaz or brody can get up this year either a championship or bathurst for ford. The last time an Australian won either in a ford is into its tenth year.
First hour sound check gents!!
🍻
How many cars are in the GT3 open class in the 12 hour?
19 GT3 3 GT4...
@@gerardcrabb4556 so bleak for what used to be such an amazing race
Broadcasters catering to try get people that have no interest in supercars to start watching is the wrong approach to gaining viewers. Cater for the people that are interested by making it easier to watch and more will come naturally.
My parents watch the start and finish of Bathurst because that’s generally the exciting bits. Old people don’t know or care who is in the car lol, they want to see action.
This is every sport though mate, isn’t just a Supercars problem
No MARC cars are part of the straw that broke the camels back as to why I'm not going this year (first time last year) would rather save the $1600 on 3 nights accomidation
@@toomanyenemies6452 Marc running in supports... Have own Super Series category...
the publicity of the 12 hour has been wank this year. Seen nothing on IG or anything anywhere and didnt know it was this weekend till yesterday. They need to do better
Also seems that no one really cares about GT racing unless it's IMSA or GTWC Europe. The rest of the GT grids are pretty small
And then also hated the mandatory stops. Like 2023 or 2024 was it? that was raining so much was just boring
It's almost like they're embarrassed or sweeping this years race under the rug because of the turn out
@@Alex-tu9bh yeah exactly. Look at 2016,17 and 18 kinda times and the grid was packed. Vs this year... I dont even know how i found it was this week tbh, but it was by accident. Not a single post anywhere and was probably only becuase i was comparing to iracings 12hr date. otherwise i'd have missed it
31:08 I don’t envy anyone trying to do merchandise at an event where Rossi and/or Grello 992 are present.
Haha that’s true! We would love some Rossi merch!
Regarding commentary. So you're suggesting a duo like Murray Walker and ..... enter former drivers name here.
been meaning to ask this question for ages. what happened to the TV coverage back in the 90s (I think) that made the cars look like little bubble cars? They actually looked like those little Aussie Racing cars going around the track. Any Ideas?
You had the wrong settings on your TV or mum and dad had the seat in front of the telly and you were watching from the corner of the room mate
@@WINZRacingBoss wrong aspect ratios.... was an issue around the time the networks switched from analog to digital cameras..they where trying to squash a 16:9 picture into 4:3... was also an issue when FTA went digital and people would still force 4:3 on their set top boxes
Anton should go ok Reynolds had some pace made few mistakes... Toyota deal might be on horizon... He chose to leave DJR...
Agreed. Dave was quick at times when he made mistakes too, like Bathurst. Keen to see how they go!
i wonder so supercars even WANT to promote the sro 12h. with sro now officially in the country they will be making plays to be the dominant force in the country.
personally i dont think its a great event it would be better and alot more relevant being on the 24h series again
also theres no reason to not be watching racing, theres soooooo soooo soooo much racing on youtube, and if you include historic stuff even more, god knows how much.
id take it that no one has even watched the south african touring cars, basically diesel marcs cars and whats now a polo cup with a p2p system that makes the hazards flash when they use it.... its bloody hilarious
Should Supercars park Gen 3 and make GT3 the top category in Aus similar to what Germany did with DTM? Production of the Camaro is dead, Supra is dying even before its hit the grid, more international buy-in with GT3's, enough manufacturers to have a variety on the grid with factory support, better international driving opportunities for Aussie drivers.
Gen 3 is a good car and any body can be slapped on it. GT Cars have terrible parity and to be honest don’t offer amazing racing. Repairs and costs are astronomical on a GT car too.
fuck no. i was gonna watch dtm but that was the time they switched to gt3, never watched a race because of that and pay no attention to them
double the costs, alot worse racing, we dont even have the tracks for it. dtm would still be going if they opened their eyes to anything that wasnt completely manufacturer backed. so they went gt3 and asked for manufacturer backing as a result it killed and gutted gtm
SEN guys do pretty good commentary need dedicated commentator and experts...
Oh really? Who commentates on that?
@apexhuntersunited Matt White James Moffat...
Bathurst 500 added interest last year later date might open up Ford and Chevrolet teams to join and not clash with Nascar Indycar F1 for driver options...
Supercars should bring in stages for bathurst
19 cars jeez bit lame for a 12 hour.
Bloody you tube keeps deleting my comments for swearing at SKAIFE
"this is ruining the career of everyone in this room"..
Uhm m.....
You'd need an actual career for that.....
