Can Republique Use its 12km Secondaries?

The Republique has the longest range secondaries in the game! But it struggles to use them effectively. In this video I'll show you how I've tried to get them working. And how you should play this ship.

Very informative video as always. This ship is so much fun to play at range and rewards good leading and positioning more so than any other ship in the game. It’s also extremely satisfying to wreck people from extreme ranges if you can lead correctly and predict where the enemy is gonna be when your shells reach the target. Punishing cruisers in this ship is also very satisfying, and punishing thunderer players who aren’t paying attention is even more satisfying.
Fire's just are not really overpowered in my opinion, some ships really stretch that opinion of mine though. If the overall numbers of fires from hardcore HE-Spammers, e.g. Colbert, Smol, Haru etc. gets reduced and the general way to bring a ship down is teamwork of several cruisers, then that would emphasize exactly that which WoWs currently lacks (for the most part).But there are arguments against it: Imagine a Kremlin who can get max. 2 fires on her entire ship, how are cruisers supposed to combat it? Almost every ship shatters on her. AP only games would basically be everybody angels against the most dangerous target to them, stay back and just bounce all the time.
Personally I never considered fires in general to be OP as its healable, long term, low impact damage that can be seriously mitigated with fire prevention builds. I find it's very rare to ever have more than one sticky fire burning on my BB at any one time.
That being said....the more I watch Potato's videos, I am starting to understand his view point. It's not that fires can't be mitigated, but the fact that they so heavily dominate the meta to the point where fire presentation builds are almost mandatory and make aggressive brawling play styles less viable. I don't think straight nerfing fires is the answer as I don't think they're OP, and a lot of cruisers are heavily dependent on them, but I do wish that the game more heavily rewarded aggressive, brawling play styles.
Had this ship for months but rarely playing it. Really enjoy the Alsace but this one I'm struggling to have decent games. Sure I get the odd great salvos but it's getting run down so quickly by ships like thunderer. That said thx for this video, I'll take it out for a spin.
since IFHE nerfs fires are not an issue, ship which dont use IFHE invests on fire starting since penetration or firerate is lacking.
I don't think ifhe matters for Goliath, Conquerer, or Des Moines
How viable would a hybrid build be? Say fp with aft and manual sec. or maybe instead of fp go for Bos, si and high alert or jack of all trades?
Fire is the worst... solution: reduce fire damage by 50% per tick, instead of doing 0.5% of total hull hitpoints(i think that's the percentile atm) per sec/tick, 0.25% would be enough for sure, hell i would go so far as reducing it to 0.1%.
They nerfed secondaries to oblivion, bc it is passive damage done with no active player input...well fire is passive damage as well... where is the nerf there?
